A method is presented for correcting the gain and phase imbalances and the bias errors of the in-phase and quadrature channels of a coherent signal processor [1] by means of coefficients which are derived from measurements of a test signal. The residual errors after correction depend upon the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) of the test signal and the degree of filtering used in deriving the correction coefficients.  相似文献

A simple method is presented for computing the output signal distortion resulting from relative phase and gain errors between the two quadrature detector channels of a baseband processing system. The greatest of constant false alarm rate processor (GO CFAR) is a useful architecture for adaptively setting a radar detection threshold in the presence of clutter edges. The GO CFAR input is often the envelope detected in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) channels of the baseband signal (xe=√(I2+Q2)). This envelope detection can also be approximated using x=a max{|I|,|Q|}+b min{|I|,|Q|} which requires less complex hardware (a and b are simple multiplying coefficients). The envelope GO CFAR processor and several envelope approximation GO CFAR processors are compared in terms of the probability of false alarm (PFA) performance. Closed-form expressions which describe the PFA performance are given and their accuracy evaluated. It is shown that for all cases, the PFA is proportional to the number of reference cells n for small threshold multiplier T and inversely proportional to n for large T. A region of intersection occurs where the PFA is the same for two different values of n. For example, at T'=1.68 in the |I|+|Q| GO CFAR (a=1, b=1) the PFA for n=1 is equal to the optimal n=∞ fixed-threshold PFA (PFA=0.112)  相似文献

Existing digital quadrature demodulation techniques sample the input at either 2B Hz or 4B Hz, select the even samples as the in-phase (I), and interpolate the odd samples to give the quadrature (Q), output. The signal bandwidth is B. We propose a demodulation system to produce I and Q samples at arbitrary sampling rate greater than 2B Hz. The system eliminates the IF downconversion step with a special sampling scheme. The even samples correspond to the I component, while the Q components are the filtered output. The filter can be a lowpass or least squares (LS) filter. The lowpass filter design is based on trade-offs between the filter length and the degree of oversampling. It produces similar results as previous work when the sampling rate is 2B Hz or 4B Hz. Unlike existing methods which assume the input is white, a LS filter, on the other hand, can make use of input signal characteristics to achieve a better result. The higher the correlation in the input the larger the improvement. The cost for LS filtering is a coefficient update step if the input is time varying. A joint detection threshold corresponding to a circle around the origin of the in-phase and quadrature components of a radar IF process is equivalent to envelope thresholding. Square and octagonal approximations to the circle are evaluated for prescribed false-alarm probabilities and the variation of detection probability with signal phase.  相似文献

A digital beamforming processor for an adaptive array radar is described. The functionality and the architecture of the processor are strongly driven by a goal of achieving adaptive null depths in the 60-dB to 70-dB range, which necessitates substantial preprocessing of each channel. In particular, conversion to baseband quadrature channels is accomplished digitally using a single A/D converter per channel, and FIR (finite impulse response) equalizing filters are employed in each channel to match channel transfer functions. The processor is highly modular, and this not only distributes the total processing load, but also the I/O (input/output) bandwidth requirement. This is accomplished by distributing the adaptive beamforming algorithm systolically across a linear array of processing nodes. The processor is expandable to a different number of channels and sufficiently flexible to be applied to other problems of an array signal processing nature. Experimental data presented demonstrate that the processor is capable of supporting channel-to-channel cancellation of interfering signals to the level of -65 dB  相似文献

 针对软件无线电中存在通用数字信号处理器(DSP)计算能力不足以及专用基带处理器缺乏扩展性的问题,提出了一种新的处理器:面向软件无线电的可重构流处理器及相应的专用指令集。仿真证明,该处理器的可重构设计具备指令集扩展能力,可以对多种无线通信标准甚至是新的通信标准提供支持;面向软件无线电的流体系结构和专用指令集保证了对多种高速无线基带信号的实时处理,运算能力是通用DSP的5~13倍。该处理器为软件无线电中的硬件设计难题提供了一种新的解决途径。  相似文献

We present a method of developing in-phase and quadrature samples of a band-limited RF waveform. The problem of matching gain and phase response differences between the two components is avoided by a combination of mixing to an IF frequency, sampling and digitizing, and digital filtering. The novelty of the method is in the design of the digital filter, which is realized as a pair of 900 phase splitting networks with several symmetries which are exploited to save computation.  相似文献

The mitigation of FM interference in GPS receivers is considered. In difference to commonly assumed wideband and narrowband interferers, the FM interferers are wideband, but instantaneously narrowband, and as such, have clear time-frequency (TF) signatures that are distinct from the GPS coarse acquisition (C/A) spread spectrum code. In the proposed technique, the estimate of the FM interference instantaneous frequency (IF) and the interference spatial signature are used to construct the spatiotemporal interference subspace. The IF estimates can be provided using existing effective linear or bilinear TF methods. The undesired signal arrival is suppressed by projecting the input data on the interference orthogonal subspace. With a multisensor receiver, the distinctions in both the spatial and TF signatures of signal arrivals allow effective interference suppressions. The deterministic nature of the signal model is considered and the known underlying structure of the GPS C/A code is utilized. We derive the receiver signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) under exact and perturbed IF values. The effect of IF estimation errors on both pseudorange measurements and navigation data recovery is analyzed. Simulation results comparing the receiver performances under IF errors in single and multiantenna GPS receivers are provided.  相似文献

Phase accuracy and simplicity advantages of a direct-sampling coherent detection (DCD) system were demonstrated by computer simulation in earlier correspondence. This correspondence reviews the DCD approach and reports the results of experiments involving digitized samples of analog signals taken by a high-quality, off-the-shelf A/Dconverter. IF signals near 10, 20, and 30 MHz were sampled at 5 MHzresulting in rms DCD phase errors generally below 0.50 compared witherrors less than 0.20 computed in the earlier simulations.  相似文献

Time jitter in the quadrature sampling processes is modeled and the performance of an adaptive cancellation system in the presence of such time jitter is analyzed. It is shown that the decorrelation due to time jitter depends on the magnitude of the jitter, the sampling scheme used, the bandwidth of the signal and the intermediate frequency (IF) preceding the analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion stages. The performance of a sidelobe cancellation system in the presence of time jitter, for several sampling approaches, is evaluated numerically as well as simulated. The results show that the direct quadrature sampling scheme with a lower IF provides superior performance for an adaptive cancellation system  相似文献

A game between an intelligent jammer J and decision maker DM is considered. DM seeks to detect a coherent slowly fading narrowband signal under a Neyman-Pearson criterion. His observations are corrupted with additive narrowband noise, the source of which is J's jamming with a power constraint, but otherwise almost arbitrary statistics. DM knows J's action but the converse is not true. When the number of samples increases asymptotically, a minimax solution for the game exists where the jamming is Gaussian, independent of the desired signal amplitude level and probability distribution. The same result also holds for detection of a nonrandom baseband signal.  相似文献

Elementary electronics building blocks can be configured as a low-cost baseband Doppler simulator for developing the post-detector processing parts such as MTIs and MTDS of millimeter wave pulsed radars employing amplitude and phase channels. The challenge of narrow pulses in conjunction to low Doppler frequencies is handled here by CMOS switches and normal function generator ICs. Test noise is generated with an off-the-shelf radio RF/IF circuit. Wideband video amplifiers are not required. Typical performance figures include pulse widths from 50 ns, target ranges from 0 to ambiguity maximum, target velocities from 0.5 m/s to 500 m/s and PRFs up to 100 kflz. Virtual target RCS can be adjusted as needed in a straightforward way.  相似文献

The trend toward digital processing of radar and sonar signals has ledto the use of ?baseband? or bipolar video signals. The processingof both the in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) channels generally allows an exact representation of the signals, and no loss of sensitivity need occur. However, for reasons of economy or weight only one channel is often implemented. This correspondence shows that the sensitivity loss for this case often deviates considerably from the 3-dB rule of thumb.  相似文献

Multipath interference is one of the contributing sources of errors in precise global positioning system (GPS) position determination. This paper identifies key parameters of a multipath signal, focusing on estimating them accurately in order to mitigate multipath effects. Multiple model adaptive estimation (MMAE) techniques are applied to an inertial navigation system (INS)-coupled GPS receiver, based on a federated (distributed) Kalman filter design, to estimate the desired multipath parameters. The system configuration is one in which a GPS receiver and an INS are integrated together at the level of the in-phase and quadrature phase (I and Q) signals, rather than at the level of pseudo-range signals or navigation solutions. The system model of the MMAE is presented and the elemental Kalman filter design is examined. Different parameter search spaces are examined for accurate multipath parameter identification. The resulting GPS/INS receiver designs are validated through computer simulation of a user receiving signals from GPS satellites with multipath signal interference present The designed adaptive receiver provides pseudo-range estimates that are corrected for the effects of multipath interference, resulting in an integrated system that performs well with or without multipath interference present.  相似文献

 提出了一种改进的基于子空间的星载数字波束形成(DBF)接收天线的误差校正方法。根据阵列互耦效应主要取决于阵元间的几何距离这一特点,利用阵元空间排布的对称性简化了天线的互耦模型,将天线的互耦效应及射频(RF)通道失配统一为通道间的幅相不一致。通过在基带注入特定的阵内相位差降低了子空间算法的计算复杂度。在建立7单元正六边形平面阵仿真模型的基础上,分析不同信噪比(SNR)环境下校正算法的性能,经比较得出可以通过提高发射信号功率改善误差估计的精度,验证了算法的有效性。仿真分析结果表明该算法在卫星通信系统中有一定的工程应用价值。  相似文献

In a recent paper [1], Brown examined the sampling of a real finiteenergy bandpass signal having an (angular) bandwidth ? (in radians per second) at the theoretically minimum (average) rate of ?/? samples per second. Following Grace and Pitt's [2] quadrature sampling, a particular case of Kohlenberg's second-order sampling [3, 4], Brown has proved the feasibility of a separate interpolation of the in-phase and quadrature components of the signal when ?o = k?/2 (Brown's condition), where ?o is the center (angular) frequency of the signal and k is an arbitrary positive integer. Here the problem is reconsidered from a general point of view, introducing, under Brown's condition, an interpolation formula which includes that of Grace and Pitt and which extends a theorem of Populis [5-7]. We indicate the necessary and sufficient conditions to obtain a separate interpolation, offering closed formulas to obtain the interpolation functions. We also discuss the minimum oversampling rate needed whenBrown's condition is not verified.  相似文献

Aiming at mitigating multipath effect in dynamic global positioning system (GPS) satellite navigation applications, an approach based on channel blind equalization and real-time recursive least square (RLS) algorithm is proposed, which is an application of the wireless communication channel equalization theory to GPS receiver tracking loops. The blind equalization mechanism builds upon the detection of the correlation distortion due to multipath channels; therefore an increase in the number of correlator channels is required compared with conventional GPS receivers. An adaptive estimator based on the real-time RLS algorithm is designed for dynamic estimation of multipath channel response. Then, the code and carrier phase receiver tracking errors are compensated by removing the estimated multipath components from the correlators’ outputs. To demonstrate the capabilities of the proposed approach, this technique is integrated into a GPS software receiver connected to a navigation satellite signal simulator, thus simulations under controlled dynamic multipath scenarios can be carried out. Simulation results show that in a dynamic and fairly severe multipath environment, the proposed approach achieves simultaneously instantaneous accurate multipath channel estimation and significant multipath tracking errors reduction in both code delay and carrier phase.  相似文献

Both the method of saddlepoint integration and its associated saddlepoint approximation are applied to calculating the probability of detecting correlated Rayleigh-fading signals in Gaussian noise by means of a detector that integrates M samples of the output of a quadratic rectifier. The quadrature components of the signal samples are modeled as an autoregressive moving-average process, and specific results are exhibited for a first-order Markov process. By these methods the fluctuation loss can be computed for much larger values of M and for larger values of the detection probability than previously. Values calculated by the saddlepoint approximation prove to be close enough to the exact values to be useful over a broad range of signal parameters  相似文献

In satellite-to-helicopter communications, interference exists on the incoming signal when the receiving antenna is located below the rotor blades. A bound is established for the performance of a coherent fixed-tone ranging system operating at L band in this interference environment. The scalar diffracted field beneath the rotating blades, at L band and above, is found to satisfy the criterion of Fresnel diffraction, and is computed using the techniques of Fourier optics. The diffracted field is expressed in terms of a narrow-band signal. The amplitude and phase components are calculated from a Fourier Series expansion using the FFT algorithm. The significant harmonics of the phase component of the interference combine with the baseband of the narrow-band, phase-modulated ranging signal. This results in CW interference, and in rearrangement of the first-order, sideband, ranging-tone channel powers. The degradation in ranging accuracy is evaluated by computing the signal-to-interference (SIR) ratio for a set of ranging tones. The post-detection (SIR)PD at the output of the correlator is shown to be a function of the amplitude of the phase harmonics of the interference, the relative difference between the ranging tone and interference center frequencies (a function of rotor speed), the rangetone modulation indices, and the post-detection filter noise bandwidth.  相似文献
