AeroSME - help for sMEs to join european R&TD programmes

The European Commission and the aerospace industry in Europe have set up AeroSME, a joint activity to encourage and support the participation of small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in European Research Programmes.     

The TCAA - a blueprint for the 21st century

In December 1999, US Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater convened a high level international conference entitled ‘Aviation in the 21st Century, Beyond Open Skies’. At that conference, Loyola de Palacio, Vice-President and Commissioner for Transport and Energy of the European Commission put forward new proposals for an open civil aviation market embracing Europe and North America - a ‘Transatlantic Common Aviation Area’ (TCAA). Because of the potential importance of these ideas for the future of civil aviation development, the text of Vice-President de Palacio's Chicago speech is reproduced here.     

扶持中小企业发展的紧迫性与现实选择

AUTOTESTCON '96, jointly sponsored by AESS and the Instrumentation and Measurement Society (I&MS), was held September 16-19 in Dayton, OH, the birthplace of aviation. As the largest test conference, it provides a valuable forum for the exchange of information relating to automatic test systems (ATS). The conference has continued to grow both in attendance and in exhibition space. This year's conference emphasized improving test system effectiveness in the presence of exploding computer technology and the changing military and commercial environment. The third solar wind conference: A summary

The Third Solar Wind Conference was convened from March 25 to 29,1974 at the Asilomar Conference Grounds, Pacific Grove, California. The conference consisted of nine sessions dealing with solar abundances; the history and evolution of the solar wind; the structure and dynamics of the solar wind; the structure and dynamics of the solar corona; macroscopic and microscopic properties of the solar wind; cosmic rays as a probe of the solar wind; spatial gradients; stellar winds; and interactions with objects in the solar wind. This paper summarizes the invited and contributed talks presented at the conference.Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics Publication Number 1354-51.     

Concurrent engineering in practice for small and medium enterprises: Findings from research and industrial pilot cases

While large companies are already actively pursuing the adoption of CE principles within their business processes, there is a need for supporting Small and Medium Enterprises to evolve their organizational and cultural schemes, as well as their technological and methodological approaches towards CE. The paper outlines the approach that has been undertaken. Furthermore, it describes a Software System for the support of SMEs in the introduction of CE by self-assessment, case presentation, and tool selection. Research results for the system's application are given.

Environmental effects of aviation

The impacts of aviation upon the human and natural environment are matters of growing concern, as the volume of air transport operations grows and our consciousness of its effects deepens. Research into these effects and means for their alleviation is increasingly transnational in character, as was clearly demonstrated by the range of project activity described at the Hamburg conference.     

EGNOS: project status overview

The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS) is being developed in Europe to provide GPS and GLONASS satellite-based augmentation services to aviation, maritime and land users. EGNOS is a major element of the European Satellite Navigation Programme which is jointly being implemented by the European Union, the European Space Agency (ESA) and EUROCONTROL.

The proceedings of a conference dealing with only one piece of observational activity: the deepest optical image obtained by the HST during a 150 orbit observational program. The main result, presented in several papers, is that we are now able to witness the period of galaxy formation. Very readable too is Allan Sandage's historical review, being the introductory paper to the meeting. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

一种适用于IP视频会议的混合策略组播密钥管理方案

在分析了现有组播密钥管理方案的基础上,针对IP视频会议的特点,将集中式和分布式密钥管理方案相结合,提出了一种多层次的混合密钥管理方案,其高层为管理层,成员之间通过OFT方案协商产生密钥,并管理密钥;底层采用集中管理方式。该方案避免了单点失效问题,具有高效性和可扩展性的优点,适用于解决大型动态组播的密钥管理问题。     

Multiple target tracking using products of position measurements

The continued development of the symmetric measurement equation (SME) filter for track maintenance in multiple target tracking (MTT) is considered, focusing on the case in which the SMEs are generated by forming sums of products of the original position measurements. The SME filter is developed for the case of N targets whose motions consist of random perturbations about constant-velocity trajectories. It is assumed that measurements of x-coordinate positions are available, and that the number of measurements is equal to the number of targets. Various analytical properties of the SME filter are studied. It is shown that under a very weak condition, the estimation error equation is locally exponentially stable. The performance of the SME filter is investigated by comparing it with an optimal (minimum-variance) estimator and by generating a computer simulation in the six-target case
