| 摘 要： | 英语修辞中有明喻、暗喻、转喻、提喻这四种常见的"喻"。它们和汉语中的明喻、暗喻、借喻、借代之间存在着相互交错的对应关系,这是导致修辞学习者时常混淆英语中"喻"的原因所在。从英语的几种常见"喻"的词源和辞格构成中可以发现,有的"喻"译称涵义偏窄,有些"喻"并非真正的比喻,其中文译称应该不含"喻"字更为合理。

| Abstract: | Simile, metophor, metonymy and synecdoche are four major English figures of speech, some of whose definitions and usages overlap and intertwine with four Chinese rhetoric devices. This knots of comparative understandings of these figures of speech lead to the confusion of rhetoric learners about English figures of speech. According to their lexical sources and their structures, some of the four Enzlish fieures of soeech need a correction of the Chinese translation of their names. |
