SN 1006 is one of the supernova remnants (SNRs) with relatively low-temperature electrons, considering the young age of just 1000 years. We carried out SN 1006 mapping observations with the X-ray Imaging Spectrometers (XIS) and the Hard X-ray Detector (HXD) onboard Suzaku, the fifth Japanese X-ray satellite. Thanks to the excellent spectral resolution of XIS in the soft X-ray band, H-like and He-like oxygen emission lines were clearly detected, and we could make a map of the line intensity, and as well as a flux and the photon index of nonthermal component. We found that these parameters have spatial dependences from region to region in the SNR; the north region is bright in nonthermal, while dim in thermal; the east region is bright in both nonthermal and thermal; the inner region shows dim nonthermal and bright thermal emission. The photon index is the smallest in the north region.  相似文献

This paper classifies a variety of techniques for increasing frequency spectrum utilization. The early phases of three flares, observed by the Nobeyama Radio Heliograph, are studied. Nonthermal and thermal radio sources are identified by comparison with soft X-ray images taken by the Soft X-ray Telescope onboard the Yohkoh satellite. Two of the flares are mainly of nonthermal origin and their location coincides with one of the footpoints of soft X-ray loops. Another flare has both thermal and nonthermal components which start to brighten simultaneously. This suggests that particle acceleration and plasma compression develop simultaneously.  相似文献

Two rocket experiments were carried out just before and after the polar night at Andoya (69°N), Norway to investigate transport of nitric oxide produced by auroral processes into the middle atmosphere and its influence on the ozone chemistry. Nitric oxide densities of (2–5) × 108cm−3 found in the 70–90 km region are one to two orders of magnitude larger than those at middle latitudes. The influence on ozone densities in the 70–90 km region due to such enhanced nitric oxide abundance is found to be insignificant as compared to that due to transport in the middle of February. The larger ozone densities found in February (in spite of longer sunlit duration) than in November in the 40–60 km region again support predominance of transport over photochemical loss.  相似文献

The cylindrical column of brittle material processed from soil and rock is a fundamental component of architectures on the surface of solid bodies in the solar system. One of the most hazardous events for the structure is damaging by hypervelocity impacts by meteoroids and debris. In such a background, cylindrical columns made of plaster of Paris and glass-bead-sintered ceramic were impacted by spherical projectiles of nylon, glass, and steel at velocity of about 1–4.5 km/s. Measured crater radii, depth, and excavated mass expressed by a function of the cylinder radius are similar irrespective of the target material, if those parameters are normalized by appropriate parameters of the crater produced on the flat-surface target. The empirical scaling relations of the normalized crater radii and depth are provided. Using them, crater dimensions and excavated mass of crater on cylindrical surface of any radius can be predicted from the existing knowledge of those for flat surface. Recommendation for the minimum diameter of a cylinder so as to resist against a given impact is provided.  相似文献

An altitude profile of the ozone concentration from 55 to 95 km was measured at sunset in January by simultaneous measurements of the 1.27 μm radiation and the solar UV radiation using rocket-borne radiometers at Uchinoura, Japan (31°N). The ozone profiles deduced by two different methods agree with each other at approximately 70 km. The profile was consistent with our previous results obtained at the same station in September, and with the sunset profile obtained at Wallops Island (38°N) during the WMO/FAA/NASA international ozone rocketsonde intercomparison. Our data show no seasonal variation of ozone in the 55 – 95 km region at Uchinoura.  相似文献

The motion of a lure in water is investigated experimentally and numerically. The lure motion in water of a passing water tank is observed, and the periodic motion is/ound. From the Fourier analysis, it is found that the frequency with the largest amplitude in the lateral direction depends on the lip width of the lure. To understand the lure dynamics, a numerical simulation of the flow field around the lure is performed. The shape is measured using an X-ray computer tomography and converted into a voxel model. From visualization, it is found that vortex sheds from its lip correspond to the vibration frequency of the lure.  相似文献
