Sundstrand Advanced Technology Corporation The current injection equivalent circuit approach (CIECA) to modeling switching converter power stages is extended to model the current programmed converter power stages operating in fixed frequency, continuous inductor conduction mode. To demonstrate the method, modeling is carried out for the buck, boost, and buckboost converters to obtain small-signal linear equivalent circuit models which represent both input and output properties. The results of these analyses are presented in the form of linear equivalent circuit models as well as transfer functions. Though current programmed converters exhibit single-pole response, the addition of artificial ramp changes converters to exhibit well damped two-pole response. This has been investigated for the first time using CIECA. The results of these analyses are presented in the form of linear equivalent circuit models as well as transfer functions.  相似文献

A fixed frequency LCL-type series resonant converter (SRC) which uses an inductive output filter is proposed. Steady-state analysis of the converter is presented using complex ac circuit analysis. Based on the analysis, a simple design procedure is given. Detailed space integrated control experiment (SPICE) simulation results are presented to evaluate the performance of the designed converter under varying load and supply voltage conditions. Also, detailed experimental results obtained from a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) based 500 W converter are presented to verify the analysis and SPICE simulation results. The results obtained from the analysis, SPICE simulation and the experimental converter are compared. The proposed converter requires a narrow variation in pulsewidth while maintaining lagging power factor mode of operation for a very wide variation in the load as well as supply voltage  相似文献

Dynamic modeling and controller design of flyback converter   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The accurate dynamic modeling and quantitative controller design for an isolated converter with optocoupler isolation in its feedback loop are considered to be difficult issues, since the transfer characteristics of some blocks are highly nonlinear and difficult to be modeled analytically. First a current-mode controlled flyback converter with an optically isolated feedback path is designed. Then the equivalent control system block diagram is constructed, and its block transfer functions are found. To increase the accuracy, the dynamic models of some critical blocks are estimated from measurements. In order to facilitate the controller design, the model simplification is further made. Finally, based on the reduced dynamic model, a quantitative design procedure is derived to find the parameters of the voltage controller to meet the prescribed regulating specifications. Validity of the estimated dynamic model and the proposed controller design approach is demonstrated by some simulation and experimental results  相似文献

Interleaved boost converter with zero diode reverse-recovery loss   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A three-phase interleaved continuous-inductor-current-mode (CICM) boost converter with zero diode reverse-recovery loss is proposed. In the converter, the di/dt of the output rectifiers is controlled by an integrated magnetic component. All the output rectifiers can be turned off softly and a very high efficiency is obtained. The equivalent-circuit model of the integrated inductors, the operation principle of the converter, and the design issues are discussed. Simulation and experimental results are presented.  相似文献

A series-parallel resonant converter employing (LC)(LC)-type tank circuit operating in lagging power factor (PF) mode is presented and analyzed using complex ac circuit analysis. Design curves are obtained and the converter is optimized under certain constraints. Detailed Space Integrated Control Experiment (SPICE) simulation results are presented to evaluate the performance of the designed converter under varying load conditions. Results obtained from an experimental converter are also presented. The results obtained from the theory, SPICE simulation, and the experimental converter are compared. The proposed converter has high efficiency from full load to very light load (<10%). Switching frequency variation required for a wide change in the load (near load open circuit to full load) is narrow compared with the series resonant converter (SRC)  相似文献

A method for calculating the harmonic components of the currents and voltages in a parallel-loaded resonant converter using frequency-domain techniques is presented. The converter is divided into an inverter section and a rectifier section. A harmonic model is developed for the resonant converter in which the rectifier section is treated as a voltage-dependent current sink. All voltages and currents in this model are represented by a Fourier series. The unknown coefficients in all Fourier series are calculated by using the harmonic model and Kirchhoff's laws. Because of the nonlinear nature of the rectifier section, an iterative technique must be utilized to find the unknown Fourier coefficients  相似文献

A constant-frequency diode-clamped series resonant converter (CFCSRC) is proposed as a solution to problems associated with frequency-controlled resonant converters. This converter has two resonant frequencies, and control is achieved by varying the relative time spent at each switching frequency. Two zero-current-switching (ZCS) modes are examined and plotted in the output plane. An equation is given for the boundary between the two ZCS modes, as well as an expression for the boundary between ZCS and non-ZCS operation; both are plotted in the output plane. The output equation for the main mode is shown to be hyperbolic. Converter peak voltages limited to the input voltages, and peak currents are less than those of the frequency-controlled clamped series resonant converter over a large operating range. Data from a prototype converter are compared with theoretical data and are shown to be in good agreement with the theoretical model  相似文献

A pulsewidth modulated (PWM) full-bridge converter that simultaneously performs input power factor correction (PFC) and DC-DC conversion is proposed. The converter is the same as the standard voltage-fed PWM full-bridge converter with a diode-bridge low-pass filter front end, but with a slight modification that results in an improvement in power factor that is sufficient to satisfy the EN61000-3-2 requirements for electrical equipment. The operation of the converter is explained and analyzed, and the results of the analysis are used to determine the converter's steady-state characteristics, which are discussed in detail. A design procedure for the selection of components is then derived and demonstrated with an example. The feasibility of the converter and its ability to satisfy EN61000-3-2 requirements on electrical equipment is shown with results obtained from an experimental prototype.  相似文献

A new ac/dc 3-/spl phi/ single-stage converter is proposed integrating a 3-/spl phi/ discontinuous current mode (DCM) boost with a dc/dc fixed frequency series resonant converter (SRC). This converter has the following features: natural power factor correction, soft switching, high-frequency (HF) transformer isolation with the series resonant tank operating in above resonance mode, etc. A new complementary gating control scheme is used for simultaneous control of boost converter and the SRC. Modes of operation are presented and analyzed. Based on the analysis, design curves are obtained. An optimum design is given and a design example is presented. Results obtained from SPICE simulation for the designed converter are given to verify the performance of the proposed converter for varying load as well as line voltage. Experimental results obtained from a laboratory prototype converter are presented to verify the theory.  相似文献

A modified series-parallel high-frequency resonant DC/DC converter configuration is proposed. A simplified steady-state analysis of the converter, including the effect of a high-frequency transformer using complex circuit analysis, is presented. Based on the analysis, a simple design procedure is given. The effect of magnetizing inductances of the high-frequency transformer on the performance of the converter is discussed. Detailed experimental results obtained from a MOSFET (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect-transistor)-based 1-kW converter are presented to verify the analysis. The converter presented has almost constant efficiency from full load to quarter load, and the converter has load short circuit capability  相似文献

In this paper, the small signal analysis of the LCC-type parallel resonant converter (LCC-PRC) operating in the continuous conduction mode is given. This analysis is based on both the state-plane diagram, which has been successfully used to obtain the steady state response for resonant converters, and the Taylor series expansion. Applying perturbation directly to the steady state trajectory, a discrete small signal model for the converter can be derived in terns of the input voltage, switching frequency, and the converter state variables. Based on this analysis, closed-loop form solutions for the input-to-output and control-to-output transfer functions are derived. It is shown that the theoretical and computer simulation results are in full agreement  相似文献

This model is useful for the dynamic simulation of a series resonant converter using only a desktop calculator. The model is compared with a laboratory converter for a large transient event.  相似文献

Modeling of a new ZVS bi-directional dc-dc converter   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
A dual half-bridge (DHB) bidirectional dc-dc converter is a new proposed topology that has the advantages of decreased number of devices, soft-switching implementation, low cost, and high efficiency. Typical applications of this converter are the auxiliary power supply in fuel cell vehicles and battery charging and discharging systems where the power density, cost, weight, and reliability are critical factors. A switching-frequency-dependent state-space averaged model of the converter is developed here for either direction of power flow. This averaged model can be used to derive the steady-state characteristics and small signal dynamics of the proposed topology. It also provides a fast simulation tool to investigate the transient response of the converter. The simulated waveforms of the mathematical model are compared with the detailed circuit simulation to verify the accuracy of the modeling.  相似文献

A new soft-switched ac-dc single-stage pulse width modulation (PWM) full-bridge converter is proposed. The converter operates with zero-voltage switching (ZVS), fixed switching frequency, and with a continuous input current that is sinusoidal and in phase with the input voltage. This is in contrast with other ac-dc single-stage PWM full-bridge converters that are either resonant converters operating with variable switching frequency control and high conduction losses, converters whose switches cannot operate with ZVS, or converters that cannot perform power factor correction (PFC) unless the input current is discontinuous. All converter switches operate with soft-switching due to a simple auxiliary circuit that is used for only a small fraction of the switching cycle. The operation of the converter is explained and analyzed, guidelines for the design of the converter are given, and its feasibility is shown with results obtained from an experimental prototype.  相似文献

A new procedure for the selection of magnetic cores for use in energy-storage dc-to-dc power converters that eliminates the need for an automated computer search algorithm and stored data file is presented. The converter configurations included in the procedure are the three commonly encountered single-winding converters for voltage stepup, for current stepup and voltage stepup/current stepup, and for the two-winding converter for voltage stepup/current stepup. For each converter configuration, three types of controllers are considered: constant-frequency, constant on-time, and constant off-time. Using concepts developed from analyses of these converters by considering the transfer of energy by means of an energystorage inductor or transformer, a special table of parameters calculated from magnetic core data is constructed, which leads to a considerably simplified design procedure.  相似文献

A steady state model is derived for the full-bridge series-resonant power converter. Normalized parametric curves for various currents and voltages are then plotted versus the triggering angle of the switching devices. The calculations are compared with experimental measurements made on a 50 kHz converter and a discussion of certain operating problems is presented.  相似文献

The overload characteristics of the full bridge series resonant power converter are considered. This includes analyses of the two most common control methods presently in use. The first of these uses a current zero crossing detector to synchronize the control signals and is referred to as the ? controller. The second is driven by a voltage controlled oscillator and is referred to as the ? controller. It is shown that the ? controller has certain reliability advantages in that it can be designed with inherent short circuit protection. Experimental results are included for an 86 kHz converter using power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs).  相似文献

The photovoltaic (PV) generator exhibits a nonlinear i-v characteristic and its maximum power (MP) point varies with solar insolation. In this paper, a V2-based MP point tracking (MPPT) scheme is developed using a buck-boost transformation topology. Although several buck-boost transformation topologies are available we have considered here a coupled inductor SEPIC converter for experimentation. To achieve almost ripple-free array current we have used ripple steering phenomena with the help of integrated inductor. This integrated inductor not only reduces the magnetic core requirements but also improves converter performance. Mathematical models are formulated and tracking algorithm is evolved. A combined PV system simulation model is developed in the SIMULINK. For a given solar insolation, the tracking algorithm changes the duty ratio of the converter such that the solar cell array (SCA) voltage equals the voltage corresponding to the MP point. This is done by the tracking algorithm, which mainly computes the power proportional to square of terminal voltage and changes the duty ratio of the converter so that this power is maximum. The proposed algorithm is implemented in real-time with the help of Analog Device ADMC-401 DSP evaluation module. The tracking program is developed to perform experimental investigations using analog-to-digital converter (ADC) interrupt. Using this processor we are able to track the MP within 200 ms. The proposed peak power tracking effectiveness is demonstrated through simulation and experimental results.  相似文献

Design curves are obtained and a design example is given. SPICE simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the performance of the proposed converter for varying load conditions.
