Airborne/spacebased radar STAP using a structured covariance matrix   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
It is shown that partial information about the airborne/spacebased (A/S) clutter covariance matrix (CCM) can be used effectively to significantly enhance the convergence performance of a block-processed space/time adaptive processor (STAP) in a clutter and jamming environment. The partial knowledge of the CCM is based upon the simplified general clutter model (GCM) which has been developed by the airborne radar community. A priori knowledge of parameters which should be readily measurable (but not necessarily accurate) by the radar platform associated with this model is assumed. The GCM generates an assumed CCM. The assumed CCM along with exact knowledge of the thermal noise covariance matrix is used to form a maximum likelihood estimate (MLE) of the unknown interference covariance matrix which is used by the STAP. The new algorithm that employs the a priori clutter and thermal noise covariance information is evaluated using two clutter models: 1) a mismatched GCM, and 2) the high-fidelity Research Laboratory STAP clutter model. For both clutter models, the new algorithm performed significantly better (i.e., converged faster) than the sample matrix inversion (SMI) and fast maximum likelihood (FML) STAP algorithms, the latter of which uses only information about the thermal noise covariance matrix.  相似文献

The algorithm presented here provides both a constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) detection and a maximum likelihood (ML) Doppler-bearing estimator of a target in a background of unknown Gaussian noise. A target is detected, and its parameters estimated within each range gate by evaluating a statistical test for each Doppler-angle cell and by selecting the cell with maximum output and finally comparing it with a threshold. Its CFAR performance is analyzed by the use of the sample matrix inversion (SMI) method and is evaluated in the cases of a fully adaptive space-time adaptive processing (STAP) and two partially adaptive STAPs. The performances of these criteria show that the probability of detection is a function only of the sample size K used to estimate the covariance matrix and a generalized signal-to-noise ratio. The choice of the number K is a tradeoff between performance and computational complexity. The performance curves demonstrate that the finer the resolution is, the poorer the detection capability. That means that one can trade off the accuracy of ML estimation with the performance of the CFAR detection criterion  相似文献

Robust adaptive matched filtering (AMF) whereby outlier data vectors are censored from the covariance matrix estimate is considered in a maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) setting. It is known that outlier data vectors whose steering vector is highly correlated with the desired steering vector, can significantly degrade the performance of AMF algorithms such as sample matrix inversion (SMI) or fast maximum likelihood (FML). Four new algorithms that censor outliers are presented which are derived via approximation to the MLE solution. Two algorithms each are related to using the SMI or the FML to estimate the unknown underlying covariance matrix. Results are presented using computer simulations which demonstrate the relative effectiveness of the four algorithms versus each other and also versus the SMI and FML algorithms in the presence of outliers and no outliers. It is shown that one of the censoring algorithms, called the reiterative censored fast maximum likelihood (CFML) technique is significantly superior to the other three censoring methods in stressful outlier scenarios.  相似文献

 为了改善训练样本数受限的非均匀杂波环境中的系统检测性能,研究了基于先验知识及其定量评估的自适应杂波抑制算法。提出了使用经真实杂波信息白化后的先验杂波协方差矩阵与单位矩阵之差的谱范数,来定量评估杂波先验知识的准确程度,并给出了真实杂波协方差矩阵未知时的矩阵谱范数估计方法。结合先验知识定量评估结果,获得了具有先验知识约束时的杂波协方差矩阵最大似然估计方法。分别基于多脉冲相参雷达以及空时自适应雷达进行了杂波建模,在此基础之上分析了算法性能。仿真结果证实了该算法优于使用样本协方差矩阵及先验杂波信息形成杂波抑制权值的性能。  相似文献

Noise subspace techniques in non-gaussian noise using cumulants   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We consider noise subspace methods for narrowband direction-of-arrival or harmonic retrieval in colored linear non-gaussian noise of unknown covariance and unknown distribution. The non-gaussian noise covariance is estimated via higher order cumulants and combined with correlation information to solve a generalized eigenvalue problem. The estimated eigenvectors are used in a variety of noise subspace methods such as multiple signal classification (MUSIC), MVDR and eigenvector. The noise covariance estimates are obtained in the presence of the harmonic signals, obviating the need for noise-only training records. The covariance estimates may be obtained nonparametrically via cumulant projections, or parametrically using autoregressive moving average (ARMA) models. An information theoretic criterion using higher order cumulants is presented which may be used to simultaneously estimate the ARMA model order and parameters. Third- and fourth-order cumulants are employed for asymmetric and symmetric probability density function (pdf) cases, respectively. Simulation results show considerable improvement over conventional methods with no prewhitening. Cubature Kalman Filter (CKF) offers a promising solution to handle the data fusion of integrated nonlinear INS/GNSS (Inertial Navigation System/Global Navigation Satellite System) navigation. However, its accuracy is degraded by inaccurate kinematic noise statistics which originate from disturbances of system dynamics. This paper develops a method of closed-loop feedback covariance control to address the above problem of CKF. In this method, the posterior state and its covariance are fed back to the filtering process to constitute a closed-loop structure for CKF covariance propagation. Subsequently, based on the maximum likelihood principle, a control scheme of the prior state covariance is established by using the feedback state and covariance within an estimation window and further adopting a proportional coefficient to amplify the feedback terms in recent time steps for the full use of new information to reflect actual system characteristics. Since it does not directly use kinematic noise covariance, the proposed method can effectively avoid the adverse impact of inaccurate kinematic noise statistics on filtering solutions. Further, it can also guarantee the prior state covariance to be positive semi-definite without involving extra measures. The efficacy of the proposed method is validated by simulations and experiments for integrated INS/GNSS navigation.  相似文献

提出了一种计及随机噪声的多输入多输出频域模态参数识别方法。该方法基于连续时间域的频率响应函数有理分式模型,利用Forsythe正交多项式改善求解性态,属频域的极大似然类估计方法。在最小二乘估计的基础上,利用"先验"的随机噪声信息进行优化迭代的极大似然估计,得到更优的模态参数识别结果。根据Cramer Rao下界不等式,在几乎不增加计算量的情况下获得所识别结果的不确定性信息,提高了模态参数识别的可靠性。采用GARTEUR飞机模型作为仿真算例,对本算法进行了仿真验证。  相似文献

The problem of detecting distributed targets in compound-Gaussian noise with unknown statistics is considered. At the design stage, in order to cope with the a priori uncertainty, we model noise returns as Gaussian vectors with the same structure of the covariance matrix, but possibly different power levels. We also assume that a set of secondary data, free of signal components, is available to estimate the covariance matrix of the disturbance. Since no uniformly most powerful test exists for the problem at hand we devise and assess two detection strategies based on the Rao test, and the Wald test respectively. Remarkably these detectors ensure the constant false alarm rate property with respect to both the structure of the covariance matrix as well as the power levels. Moreover, the performance assessment, conducted also in comparison with the generalized likelihood ratio test based receiver, shows that the Wald test outperforms the others and is very effective in scenarios of practical interest for radar systems.  相似文献

针对标准粒子滤波算法诊断步数多且诊断结果噪声水平高的问题,提出伪协方差和自适应似然分布结合的改进粒子滤波算法。该算法通过使用伪协方差代替了粒子集协方差,保证采样得到的粒子能够更真实地反映突变情况,减少诊断步数;通过对似然分布自适应调整,增加其与先验分布的重叠区域,提高抽样率,增加有效粒子数,降低诊断结果噪声水平。发动机健康参数估计仿真结果表明:与标准粒子滤波算法相比,改进的粒子滤波算法能使诊断速度提高约27%,诊断精度提高约38%,有效地减少了突变故障的诊断步数,并显著降低了诊断结果的噪声水平。  相似文献

A general problem of signal detection in a background of unknown Gaussian noise is addressed, using the techniques of statistical hypothesis testing. Signal presence is sought in one data vector, and another independent set of signal-free data vectors is available which share the unknown covariance matrix of the noise in the former vector. The local behavior of a maximum likelihood estimator that adaptively weights data of uncertain origin to make a probabilistic measurement-to-track assignment is examined. The results are placed in the framework of the classic estimation theory of Fisher and Cramer. The Cramer-Rao bound is derived and the MLS error level is compared with this lower bound and the level achieved with known data association. Deterioration in performance was found to depend solely on the false-detection to valid-contact ratio, and the actual (measured) covariance matrix is a scalar multiple of the covariance matrix computed for associated data.  相似文献

The problem of optimally processing data with unknown focus is investigated. Optimum data processors are found by the method of maximum likelihood under a variety of assumptions that apply to most of the situations arising in practice. The unknown focus may be either an unknown parameter or an unknown random variable; the signal may be of known form or a random function; it is further assumed that the signal is received in additive, white, Gaussian noise. The problems of jointly estimating other unknown parameters and, in the case of a random signal, jointly estimating the signal, are also treated. The asymptotic variance and correlation of the estimators is discussed. Electrooptical realizations of the maximum likelihood computers are given. An iterative method of solution of the likelihood equation is also discussed. The discussion and results are directly applicable to the processing of synthetic aperture radar data.  相似文献

A statistical model for simultaneous detection and single parameter estimation of a stochastic signal against background noise is obtained. Two strategies, Bayes and maximum likelihood, are discussed. The detection of an optical point source imaged on a photosensitive surface and the estimation of its intensity based on such strategies are examined.
