Abstract:With development of data applications related industries,accuracy,real-time and wide area of data transmission are higherly required.The ORBCOMM,Argos,Aprize and several other data communication microsatellite constellation systems are introduced in this paper.The significance of developing microsatellite-based Data Communication System(DCS) is expounded.Application requirements such as disaster monitoring,environmental protection and commercial applications are listed.Meanwhile,the operating modes,including real-time forward and storage forward are analyzed,and the components,including satellites,earth stations and terminals,are given as a reference to satellite-based data communication system development.
