Abstract:The fundamental principles of linear buckling control equation and nonlinear finite element method f0r prediction of composite skirt axtal compressive buckling are presented' The coupling effect and transverse shear is considered in the linear buckling equation ; The stiffness degredation model is considered in nonlinear finite element method. Good apreemcnt between theorctically predicted vaues by the two methods and tested values was found, among the predictcd values, the values by nonlinear method has a lower error.
