Helicopter Development Facing 21 Century

Two difficulties of the helicopter development are described. At first, i.e. as compared to the same class of the fixed wing airplane, more powerful engine was/is needed and more complicated technical problem were/are encountered. Secondly, the situation and prospect of the world military and civil helicopter market are summarized and estimated. Thirdly, the U.S. helicopter economic and technical index beyond 2 000 year and the aerodynamic and the dynamic research trend are introduced. Finally, a viewpoint that the helicopter is a vehicle of thousand uses as well as thousand ages is put forward and efforts in the propaganda and technology aspect for developing helicopters in China are pointed out.
