Abstract:First of all, Laurent series expansions of stress and displacement fields satisfying all the governing equations of plane problems in theory of elasticity are derived. Next, the variational method is applied to satisfy the boundary conditions of a plate with a pin hole. Then, the coefficients in Laurent series and the stress concentration factor can be determined. Finally, the convergency tests and systematical results are given for engineering applications.
