Abstract:As a new space research fool, the tetnered satellite system is a space technology being under development. The problem of dynamics and control of the system is considered unsolved so far. A tether length rate control algorithm has been described in this paper, based on a dynamics study by state plane method. This algorithm has successfully solved the stability and control problem in all deployed, station-keeping and refrieval modes of the system operation. It has been given a computer sinulation of two and three-dimensional motion of the system under the assumption that the tether was considered as a massless and inextensible cable.
