基于PD-MSM-Lyot 滤波器的多波长掺铒光纤激光器

摘    要:提出了一种基于偏振依赖多模- 单模- 多模光纤Lyot (PD-MSM-Lyot) 滤波器的多波长掺铒光纤激光器。PD-MSM-Lyot 光纤滤波器由一个PD-MSM 滤波器和一段保偏光纤构成,其相邻滤波通带具有相同波长间隔。充分利用偏振依赖MSM 光纤滤波器的起偏作用并结合腔内色散位移光纤中的非线性偏振旋转效应, 构成了强度相关损耗机制, 从而抑制掺铒光纤中的增益竞争作用, 获得了室温下19 个波长间隔为0.2 nm 的密集多波长激光输出。通过对比可得, 输出激光光谱随泵浦功率增大而变的更平坦, 且波长数更多。

Abstract:A multiwavelength Erbium-doped fiber laser based on PD-MSM-Lyot filter is proposed and demonstrated.In the structure, a comb filter with the same spacing is formed by a broad-band PD-MSM filter and a segment of polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF). Because of the nonlinear polarization rotation effect in the dispersion-shift fiber, theintensity-dependent loss can be induced by the same PD-MSM filter, and employed to suppress the gain competition. Inthis case, up to 19 wavelengths with a dense spacing of 0.2 nm oscillate simultaneously at room temperature. Meanwhile,it is also found that higher pump power leads to flatter laser spectrum and more lasers.
