A Diffusion Model of Radial Distributions of Energetic Protons in Saturn's Magnetosphere

A simple diffusion model of Saturn's radiation belts with a constant internal source and particle losses at the boundaries is considered. The radial diffusion coefficient is supposed to be D _LL L ⁴. The analytical solution to the stationary diffusion equation describes well the observed radial profiles of the distribution function of energetic protons in Saturn's magnetosphere.
