| Abstract: | Counter pressure casting is an advanced special casting processing. But. up to now, the knowledge and data about the solidication processing of this special casting processing are very lacking and can not meet the needs for better castings to provide higher standards of performance and reliability in service. So, in this paper, the solidification processing of thin-wall shell castings which are casted by counter pressure casting are experimentally researched, and data of castings thermal field during solidification, filling and solidifying processing are obtained. The results, obtained from experiments, are very helpful and valuable for improving the process design and quality of castings, and also can be taken as an experimental basis for developing computer simulation and CAD software of the counter pressure casting processing. |
