| Abstract: | Wangtao is one of the most prominent figures in early Chinese press. In this paper, the author analyzes four aspects of his pressing ideas: freedom of the press, goal of the press, function of the newspapers and the personnel matters. These ideas set a stone for the modern pressing. |
