Abstract:The technical background of the fast tool servo (FTS) technology was introduced. A brief introduction about the successful products was made. The processing principle of freeform optics, the integration of FTS system with the numerical control machine, and the comparison between different FTS drivers were analyzed. The development trends of the technology were illustrated.
