公示语的语言特点及其翻译方法

Public signs are quite common in people＇s life .With China＇s opening-up to the world ,increasing number of foreigners come to China .Thus ,English versions of public signs are offered for the sake of their convenience .There have been great achievements in the Chinese-English translation of public signs , w hereas many problems still exist .Public signs can be classified as a kind of practical w riting ,and they are used for the purpose of external publicity and cultural exchanges as well .Therefore ,in the process of translation ,their langue features ,pragmatic functions and cultural differences must be taken into consider-ation .By doing this ,it will be more feasible for the translator to adopt proper translation strategies .
