Spacecraft Formation Flying and Their Key Technologies under Developm ent

This paper briefly introduces the concept about spac ecraft formation flying missions composed of the distributed spacecraft systems ,simply presents several key technologies developed by NASA for future spacecra ft formation flying programs,and puts emphsis on clarifing how GPS-based format ion flying control and relative navigation technologies of distributed spacecraf ts wi ll enable to act as the navigation system of a range of multi-spacecraft format ion flying missions,and revolutionige the future space science.
