Abstract:The Range-Rate Control Alogorithm (RRCA) has been revised so that a stable,stationary and straight-line trajectory can be realized in any preset direction on the orbitalplane (omni-directional rendezvous). The dynamics and stabiltiy analysis, optimalcontrol and computer simulasion have been given in the paper. The RRCA is superior to the method of conventional parallel navigation in the sense of good control performance and tess fuel consumption. With not so severe requirements to the propulsion and measurement in the system, the RRCA is an ideal method of rendezvous control at short distance.
