| Abstract: | The progress and current situation in research of rare earth metal(REM) conversion coating technologyon aluminum alloys are reviewed; The possible formation mechanism of REM conversion coating is introduced : The formation of the film centers on the precipitation of the canons of REM and OH~- obtained from reduction reaction of O_2 onthe surface of aluminum alloy. The mechanism of corrosion inhibition of the film is also described: The transactions of O_2and electrons on the surface of the aluminum/solution are reduced by the film, thus the motivation of corrosion is decreased ; The present problems and the problems needing further study are pointed out. |
