Abstract:Ariane 5 has a much larger they-diameter, tank capacity and greater thrust power than Ariane 4. The reliability of Ariane 5 also must be improved. All these new requirements have forced the European aelnspace industrial departments to do a lot of research in structural materials and processing technology of propellant tank, pressurant tank, solid propellant hoster shell, interstage skirt section, support structure and damper ect. and achieved important success.Materials screening and manufacture proceeding of Ariane 5 is mole standard than former series. The tank material are changed from 7020, 15 CDV6 and URANUS to 2219. To meet the requirement of Ariane 5 for structural materials and processing technology, pre-die pussing heat creep forming, spinning shaping and resin transmitting forming are all used in Ariane 5 plane.
