Abstract:General situation of the progress on acoustic emission (AE) technique forcomposite materials is briefly described and several AE criteria concerned with the differ-ent failure mechanisms are discussed in the paper. The emphasis is laid on the presenta-tion of application of AE technique to nondestructive test on pressure vessels made ofcomposite materials and some problems that should be paid attention to during the wat-er tests of pressure vessels.
