Abstract:An efficient method based on sequential surrogate-based optimization was proposed to realize the integrated design optimization for motor and trajectory of multi-stage solid powered vehicle in near space. In order to calculate the performance of the motor accurately, the geometric parametric modeling of the motor was carried out, then a marching tetrahedron method was developed to compute burning surface regression for complex propellant grain. Maximum range of vehicle with given motor design scheme was evaluated based on an adaptive Legendre-Gauss-Radau pseudospectral method. To improve the optimization efficiency, a multi-sampling efficient global optimization method based on Kriging surrogate model was proposed and numerically verified. The results show that our method has a high rate of convergence, and can significantly reduce the calculation times of the time-consuming objective function and constraint function compared with the traditional parameter optimization algorithms. It demonstrations high efficiency on implementing the integrated design optimization for motor and trajectory of multi-stage solid powered vehicle in near space.
