Quiet sun

We underline the diagnostic strength of recent observations of the oscillating quiet Sun. While high quality (k, ) power spectra permit a better knowledge of the convection zone, long and continuous survey of oscillations of the integrated Sun provides an efficient sounding of the inner solar body.Proceedings of the Conference Solar Physics from Space, held at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ), 11–14 November 1980.
