Abstract:To meet the needs of the sophisticated design of ducted propeller, based on the Navier-Stokes equations and the sliding patched-zone interface technology, combined with the technology of the unstructured grid generation, the aerodynamic analysis of the unsteady stator/rotor interacting flow and the performance predic- tion of a ducted propeller are carried out in this paper. Based on sliding patched-zone interface technology, the multi-block grid which includes static and rotating domain is proposed. The grid distribution of the clearance between the propeller blade tip and the duct wall is studied. On this basis, the aerodynamic analysis of a propeller flow and a ducted propeller interacting flow are implemented. Finally, the numerical simulating results of the propeller and the ducted propeller are in good agreement to the experimental results and the design specifications, which means the CFD analysis developed in this paper is useful and effective.
