Astrophysics in 2006

The fastest pulsar and the slowest nova; the oldest galaxies and the youngest stars; the weirdest life forms and the commonest dwarfs; the highest energy particles and the lowest energy photons. These were some of the extremes of Astrophysics 2006. We attempt also to bring you updates on things of which there is currently only one (habitable planets, the Sun, and the Universe) and others of which there are always many, like meteors and molecules, black holes and binaries.     

The double-pulsar binary J0737–3039

A recent multibeam pulsar survey of the outer Galactic plane at Parkes has discovered the first-known double-pulsar binary, a very compact double neutron star system in which both stars are observable as radio pulsars. In this review, we briefly describe the discovery and the studies which have been enabled by the unique properties of the system. These range from the most precise confirmation yet of the theory of general relativity, with the possibility of even more new tests and the measurement of second-order post-Newtonian effects, to studies of the magnetospheres and emission properties of the two pulsars. The discovery also results in a significant increase in the expected rate of occurrence of the mergers of double neutron star systems, and hence the rate of detection of such events by the new ground-based gravitational wave detectors.

本文在聚氧提高航机部件性能，总体性能的研究基础上，进一步探索航空发动机聚氧减重的规律，提供聚氧缩短压气机、燃烧室、涡轮轴向尺寸、减少发动机直径、减轻上述核心机部件和发动机总重量的理论依据，可供航机预研参考。     

The Local Bubble and Interstellar Material Near the Sun

The properties of interstellar matter at the Sun are regulated by our location with respect to a void in the local matter distribution, known as the Local Bubble. The Local Bubble (LB) is bounded by associations of massive stars and fossil supernovae that have disrupted dense interstellar matter (ISM), driving low density intermediate velocity ISM into the void. The Sun appears to be located in one of these flows of low density material. This nearby interstellar matter, dubbed the Local Fluff, has a bulk velocity of ∼19 km s⁻¹ in the local standard of rest. The flow is coming from the direction of the gas and dust ring formed where the Loop I supernova remnant merges into the LB. Optical polarization data suggest that the local interstellar magnetic field lines are draped over the heliosphere. A longstanding discrepancy between the high thermal pressure of plasma filling the LB and low thermal pressures in the embedded Local Fluff cloudlets is partially mitigated when the ram pressure component parallel to the cloudlet flow direction is included.     

WSO-UV project

During last three decades, astronomers have enjoyed continuous access to the 100–300 nm ultraviolet (UV) spectral range where the resonance transitions of the most abundant atoms and ions (at temperatures between 3000 and 300 000 K) reside. This UV range is not accessible from ground-based facilities. The successful International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) observatory, the Russian ASTRON mission and successor instruments such as the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) mission or the COS and STIS spectrographs on-board the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) prove the major impact of observations in the UV wavelength range in modern astronomy. Future access to space-based observatories is expected to be very limited. For the next decade, the post-HST era, the World Space Observatory – Ultraviolet (WSO–UV) will be the only 2-m class UV telescope with capabilities similar to the HST. WSO–UV will be equipped with instruments for imaging and spectroscopy and it will be a facility dedicated, full-time, to UV astronomy. In this article, we briefly outline the current status of the WSO–UV mission and the science management plan.     

供热系统集约化运行的能耗监测及节能调节问题探讨

对我校供热系统的现状进行了分析；指出了锅炉热效率及能耗监控方面的不足，并针对锅炉热效率提高和二次网循环泵变频调节进行了节能分析计算；同时根据我校实际情况对循环泵设备配置及控制进行了分析，提出了要加强技术指标量化考核和能耗监测，提高效率、节能降耗，实现供热系统的科学化、集约化运行。     

关于非法科院校学生法治理念的培养

法治理念是对法治的理性认识,是对良好法律秩序状态的精神追求。非法科院校法律教育应重在培养学生的法治理念。为此目的,有必要在法律训导和法律教学的基础上寻求培养方式的多样化。     

倍频程准则在星载电子设备结构设计中的应用

在星载电子设备的结构设计中,一般采取局部加强结构刚度来减小其响应,但对有些结构此方法效果并不理想。为减小某单机中关键部件的加速度响应,通过倍频程准则对结构进行优化设计,通过合理弱化支架刚度来降低核心部件的响应。仿真结果表明在弱化某些结构部件的情况下,使得谐振器的加速度响应降低了29%,效果明显。通过弱化非核心部件来减小核心部件的响应,有别于常规的增加整体结构刚度来减小响应,对后续电子设备的优化设计具有一定的指导意义。
