The Quasi Zenith Satellite System, a Japanese satellite navigation system, is under development. The system broadcasts GPS-interoperable and augmentation signals as well as original Japanese signals from an inclined, elliptical geosynchronous orbit. Using this system, users around Japan and Oceania can use seamless positioning, navigation, and timing services, even in urban canyons and mountainous areas. A government policy supports the project to promote the use of geographical spatial information linked to satellite-based navigation for a wealthy and secure life in accordance with the rapid increase of satellite navigation users nationwide. To support that policy, JAXA is in charge of developing the first stage of QZSS in collaboration with related ministries and national institutes. Attention is devoted to making the system reliable and economical using legacy Japanese GEO satellite system technologies, not only satellite technology, but also ground systems and operations technologies. 相似文献

The Global Radiance Limb Imager Experiment for the Atmosphere (GLORIA) shall provide a detailed global picture of the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere region (UTLS) and make available novel information on small-scale atmospheric dynamics.
The instrument will be a space borne imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer operating in the thermal infrared spectral region. It will produce spectrally resolved images of the earth’s limb with a vertical extension of 60 km and a horizontal extension of 400 km. The paper focuses on the preliminary instrument concept and on results of studies concerning sensitivity and spectrometric performance. GLORIA has been proposed as a national German space mission. An aircraft version is currently under development. 相似文献

The world's first aeronautical satellite communication experiments, conducted at L -band frequencies using a commercial aircraft, are described. An airborne antenna with electronically steerable beam and communication equipment was installed in a B-747F freighter flying over transoceanic flight routes. The satellite used in these experiments is the Engineering Test Satellite-Five (ETS-V). During the test period, various experiments, such as antenna pattern measurements, transmission performances, and voice quality evaluation were conducted. As the airborne antenna is the key component for the aeronautical satellite communication system, emphasis has been placed on antenna characteristics. Its performance is found to be closely related to the fading characteristics in low-elevation areas and to transmission error performance 相似文献
