Variations in concentration of ions H+, He+, and O+ are studied at a height of about 700 km using the data of continuous observations onboard the DEMETER satellite at the decline and in the minimum of solar activity from 2004 to 2008. Latitudinal distributions, seasonal behavior, and irregular variations in ion concentrations and their dependence on solar and geomagnetic activity are considered. Within this altitude range, for the first time an analysis is performed of the dataset of many-year continuous observations in both hemispheres from the equatorial to subauroral latitudes. This made it possible to describe the seasonal and irregular variations of the concentrations of main ion species with better time and spatial resolution than in the available empirical models. The dependence of concentrations of three types of ions on solar and geomagnetic activity is studied at time scales from several days to several years, and it is shown that the anti-phase change in concentrations of O+ and light ions known from publications is partly a result of mutual dependence of solar and geomagnetic activity and is observed only at time scales beginning from several months. At time scales from several days to several weeks, variations in the concentration of O+ and light ions are governed mainly by solar and geomagnetic activity, respectively.  相似文献

A turbulence model for high-speed compressible flows is developed. It is based on modeling the rapid and slow parts of pressure-strain correlation depending on gradient Mach number and on the assumption that the velocity fluctuations normal to streamlines play a key role in turbulent mixing process. It is shown that an increase in the flow velocity leads to a slowing of turbulent mixing and an increase in the anisotropy of the flow. Comparison of the calculation results with the available experimental data showed good agreement.  相似文献

Signals of VLF transmitters of the Omega navigation system located in the auroral zone (66.4°N, 13.2°E, L= 5) were recorded by the VLF receiving equipment of the Interkosmos 19 satellite. Signals at frequencies between 10.2 and 13.6 kHz were received in a region above the transmitters, frequently with whistler-type echoes. An analysis of these echoes has shown their predominating occurrence in periods of low geomagnetic activity (Kp<2+). The occurrence region of these phenomena in the outer ionosphere has the dimension of about 1000 km and its position is betweenL= 2.5 and L= 4.4. The delay of echo-signals is practically the same during one satellite pass but its values for different satellite revolutions lie between 2.5 and 3.5 s. The frequency spectrum of these signals can be broadened up to 100 Hz. On the basis of calculations made, it can be shown that the experimental results are generally in accordance with the hypothesis of nonlinear ducting of VLF waves in the magnetosphere.  相似文献

This paper presents some results of the experiment with a Soviet-made VLF transmitter influencing the sub-auroral magnetosphere. Stimulation of geomagnetic pulsations in the 0.008–1.0 Hz range with large retardation and a maximum amplitude near and below the modulation frequency was observed.  相似文献

In the Soviet-French Arcad-3 project, 3 experiments TBF-ONCH, TRAC and ISOPROBE are carried out on board the Aureol-3 satellite to measure the AC and DC electric and magnetic fields and waves. Several modes of telemetry, real time and memory regimes are available for data transmission. TBF-ONCH is devoted to the measurement of 3 components of the DC electric field, 2 electric and 3 magnetic components of the waves. In one mode of the real time telemetry these 5 components are transmitted simultaneously in the frequency range 10 Hz-1.5 kHz in order to be able to determine the wave normal directions of natural emissions and to localize their sources. In the second mode, morphological studies of saucers, chorus, hiss and triggered emissions can be undertaken using the wide band transmission (70 Hz-16 kHz) of any one of these 5 components with the possibility of periodically changing the transmitted component every 4 seconds or keeping the same one during all the pass. TRAC makes use of the on board 3 axis flux gate magnetometer to perform a fine measurement of the magnetic effects of the currents flowing in the vicinity of the spacecraft either in the ionosphere or along the magnetic field lines, with a resolution of ~ 12 nT and in the frequency range from DC to ~ 20 Hz. One component of the HF electric field (0.1–10 Mhz) is measured by ISOPROBE (see companion paper). Examples of inflight measurements from the above instruments and their presentation on microfiches are shown. Some new phenomena are emphasized and briefly discussed.  相似文献

A method for numerical simulation of the combustion of hydrogen in a supersonic air flow is developed. Comparison of the calculation results with the experimental data showed a satisfactory agreement. The calculation results using the nonequilibrium and equilibrium techniques differ from each other. It is shown that combustion parameters substantially depend on the geometric characteristics of the inlet device, the combustion chamber and the nozzle.  相似文献
