An explicit expression is derived for the Cramer-Rao bound(CRB)on unbiased estimates of the parameters of autoregressiveprocesses, given a finite number of measurements. The expressionconverges to the well-known asymptotic form of the CRB when thenumber of measurements tends to infinity. The behavior of thebound is illustrated by some numerical examples.  相似文献

The problem of estimating the time difference of arrival of a signal with unknown spectrum to two receivers is treated. A signal model containing both spectral and delay parameters is derived. The model parameters are computed by a two-step procedure: (1) the modified Yule-Walker equations are used to estimate the autoregressive spectrum of the source signal, and (2) a frequency domain squared error criterion is minimized to provide the delay estimate. The performance of the proposed technique is illustrated by simulation results.  相似文献

A class of nonlinear filters for dynamical systems driven by generalized Poisson processes is developed. One of the filters, the maximum a posteriori (MAP) filter, is shown by a numerical example to be superior to other known predictors in getting the highest target hit probabilities, and it is relatively simple to implement. This filter has applications in both fire control and air traffic control of maneuvering piloted vehicles.  相似文献

VSAR: a high resolution radar system for ocean imaging   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The velocity synthetic aperture radar (VSAR) is a conceptual synthetic aperture radar (SAR)-based sensor system for high resolution ocean imaging. The VSAR utilizes data collected by a multielement SAR system, to extract information not only about the radar reflectivity of the observed area, but also about the radial velocity of the scatterers in each pixel. This is accomplished by making use of the phase information contained in multiple SAR images, and not just the magnitude information as in conventional SAR. Using this velocity information, the VSAR attempts to compensate for the velocity distortion inherent in conventional SAR and to reconstruct the ocean reflectivity. We present the basic theory of the VSAR system and its performance. We also provide an analysis of the VSAR imaging mechanism for a statistical model of the radar returns, designed to capture the effects of speckle and of resolution degradation due to the decorrelation of the radar returns  相似文献

The Modified Yule-Walker Method of ARMA Spectral Estimation   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
An overview of ARMA spectral estimation techniques based on the modified Yule-Walker equations is presented. The importance of using order overestimation, as well as of using an overdetermined set of equations, is emphasized. The Akaike information criterion is proposed for determining the equation order. A procedure for removing spurious noise modes based on modal decomposition of the sample covariance matrix is derived. The role of the singular value decomposition method in solving the modified Yule-Walker equations is discussed. A number of techniques for estimating MA spectral parameters are presented.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel and efficient extrema-mapping algorithm, which we call the roller-coaster algorithm. Two versions of the algorithm, the one-dimensional (1-D) and the two-dimensional (2-D) roller-coaster, are developed. Its applicability to array signal processing is demonstrated. We use it to solve a multiple source direction finding problem using multiple signal classification (MUSIC), beamformer, and minimum variance methods, and for antenna array design. The algorithm is based on heuristic assumptions and its properties are not proved. Yet, its performance was tested in many simulated experiments, yielding favorable results  相似文献

Linear FM signal parameter estimation from discrete-timeobservations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The authors consider the problem of estimating the parameters of a complex linear FM signal from a finite number of noisy discrete-time observations. An estimation algorithm is proposed, and its asymptotic (large sample) performance is analyzed. The algorithm is computationally simple, consisting of two fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) accompanied by one-dimensional searches for maxima. The variance of the estimates is shown to be close to the Cramer-Rao lower bound when the signal-to-noise ratio is 0 dB and above. The authors applied the algorithm to the problem of estimating the kinematic parameters of an accelerating target by pulse-Doppler radar. A representative test case was used to exhibit the usefulness of the algorithm for this problem, and to verify the analytical results by Monte Carlo simulations  相似文献
