A systematic search is reported for phenomena associated with circumstellar matter in interacting binary systems of the Algol and W Serpentis type. Ultraviolet emission lines have been detected by the author in 10 Algols and 6 Serpentids. No conspicuous difference exists between systems with disk accretion and those with direct stream impact. Evidence is indicated that the lines are formed predominantly by scattering in an induced stellar wind. Relative intensity of Fe II and Fe III emissions appears to be correlated with the spectral type of the gainer. It is suggested that in the Serpentids we see a thick disk nearly edge-on, but that the emission lines indicate the nature of the gainer inside. 相似文献

Detailed dynamic modeling of a solar sail requires recording of solar radiation pressure influence. A photon-solar sail is determined by the thrust value and the direction. We define the solar sail’s reflectivity depending on the film materials, the sail design and temperature, the thickness of multiple layers, and degradation factor, with a reasonable degree of accuracy. Thus, this work is devoted to the identification of optical characteristics of thin multilayer films in space flight conditions, i.e. to finding its reflectance, absorbance, and transmittance. In particular, the paper asks whether the solar sail simulates by a mathematical model of the optical characteristics of a multilayer epitaxial thin film. The temperature change effect and optical properties of solar sail degradation are considered as well. Solar sail flight from Earth to Mercury is designed as a simulation of the flight change in optical parameters. 相似文献

We present a-table of results from our survey of Algols, conducted with the Lick Observatory ITS scanners and the IUE spectrometer.We have determined the continuous flux distributions for a number of the Algol systems. Optical scans were made with the ITS scanners of Lick Observatory, while for the ultraviolet flux distributions, we used the IUE satellite spectrometer in the low-dispersion mode. First, high-frequency (HF) slowly drifting pulsating structures are interpreted as radio emissions of electron beams accelerated
in the magnetic reconnection volume and injected into magnetic islands (plasmoids). Then, the time evolution of plasma parameters
(density, magnetic field, etc.) in a 2-D MHD model of solar flare reconnection is computed numerically. Assuming plasma radio
emission from locations where the “double-resonance’’ instability generates upper-hybrid (UH) waves due to unstable distribution
function of suprathermal electrons, the radio spectra and spatial source structures in the reconnection region are modeled.
By comparison of the modeled and observed spectra a remarkable similarity has been found between the computed narrow-band
emission and the observed lace bursts. Finally, a new diagnostics of the reconnection process is proposed. 相似文献
