The ultraviolet spectrum of a redshifted plasma flow appearing over a sunspot observed during the first flight of the High Resolution Telescope Spectrograph (HRTS I) is analysed, and interpreted as a radiatively cooling plasma. For most of the lines emitted from this plasma, the assumption of ionization equilibrium during the cooling is good. However for He II (and other ions with a single electron outside of closed shells), this is not the case. Integrating differential equations for the various ionization fractions of helium and the temperature allows an approximate determination of the abundance of helium relative to other elements whose lines appear in the spectrum of the plasma flow. 相似文献

We have studied the spatial structure and temporal evolution of a chromospheric region with chains of mottles at the junction of three supergranules. The observations were obtained with the Multichannel Subtractive Double Pass spectrograph operating in H at the Pic du Midi Observatory. From a statistical point of view the fine structures were stable in intensity over the observation period (15 min), while the line of sight velocity showed remarkable changes within a few minutes. A detailed analysis shows that the predominant pattern of bulk motion in the dark mottles is that of downflow at their footpoints and upflow at their tops, which is followed by downflows along the whole structure and that this process repeats itself several times during their lifetime. 相似文献

This paper presents a short summary of observations of coronal structures at microwaves using an instrument with high spatial resolution and good wavelength coverage. The comparison of the RATAN-600 data with optical observations of coronal loops in the green line and with the Very Large Array maps at 21 cm has shown that the loops represent only a small part of coronal matter, although their role may be of great importance in the physics of the solar corona. Solar abundances can be derived from the composition of the solar wind and solar energetic particles (SEPs) as well as obtained
through spectroscopic means. Past comparisons have suggested that all three samples agree well, when rigidity-related fractionation
effects on the SEPs were accounted for. It has been known that such effects vary from one event to the next and should be
addressed on an event-by-event basis. This paper examines event variability more closely, particularly in terms of energy-dependent
SEP abundances. This is now possible using detailed SEP measurements spanning several decades in energy from the Ultra Low
Energy Isotope Spectrometer (ULEIS) and the Solar Isotope Spectrometer (SIS) on the ACE spacecraft. We present examples of
the variability of the elemental composition with energy and suggest they can be understood in terms of diffusion from the
acceleration region near the interplanetary shock. By means of a spectral scaling procedure, we obtain energy-independent
abundance ratios for 14 large SEP events and compare them to reported solar wind and coronal abundances as well as to previous

We analyze five solar Explosive Events observed in the Si iv emission line at 139.37 nm during SUMER/SoHO raster scans near disk center. The Doppler velocities from −45 km s−1 to +45 km s−1 were sorted into eleven symmetrically organized velocity bins, five equally-sized bins on each side and one bin for the line at rest. The radiance values along the NS oriented slit around the maximum of each EE are used to build one-dimensional distributions. We study these distributions and their development in space and time for different velocity bins to unveil the 3D-structure and evolution of Explosive Events. The spatial radiance distributions for the EE maximum and around it were made. For some Explosive Events the dispersion direction is not oriented orthogonally to the slit direction; consequently, the blueshifted emission is in a linear way offset from the redshifted emission by several pixels. The largest offset (∼5″) is observed between distributions whose velocities differ by ∼36 km s−1. The linear relation agrees with an scenario of flows inside magnetic arcs. 相似文献

A complex radio event was observed on January 17, 2005 with the radio-spectrograph ARTEMIS-IV, operating at Thermopylae, Greece; it was associated with an X3.8 SXR flare and two fast Halo CMEs in close succession. We present dynamic spectra of this event; the high time resolution (1/100 s) of the data in the 450–270 MHz range, makes possible the detection and analysis of the fine structure which this major radio event exhibits. The fine structure was found to match, almost, the comprehensive Ondrejov Catalogue which it refers to the spectral range 0.8–2 GHz, yet seems to produce similar fine structure with the metric range. 相似文献

The mid-term periodicities of polar faculae are studied separately for the total disk, northern and southern hemispheres of the Sun for a time interval from 1951 August to 1998 December. Apart from the 11-year Schwabe cycle which is the fundamental period and is found in all of the three time series, the following prominent results are found: (1) the rotational periodicity of solar activity at high latitudes is approximately from 28 to 32 days; (2) a large number of quasi-periods appearing in low-latitude solar activity (annual variation, 1.3–1.7 years, quasi-biennial oscillation, and 4–5 years) also exist in polar faculae; (3) the periodicities on both hemispheres are not identical. 相似文献
