A technique of computer-aided synthesizing a finite element model of wing center section and outer wing torsion box joint for a transport aircraft

A technique of synthesizing the finite element model of the flange joint of the outer wing torsion box with the wing center section for a transport aircraft is presented. The technique is based on the functional decomposition principle, in which the general model of wing torsion box is synthesized from the separate substructure models including the flange joint. It has been shown that the manual input is significantly reduced, when the computer-aided synthesis is applied. This made it possible to cut time of synthesis and decrease the probability of error occurrence.     

A technique of design analysis for the gas turbine engine regenerator with complanar channels according to the heat flow and hydraulic resistance

A technique is presented for design analyzing a regenerative plate heat exchanger with complanar channels. Also derived is the formula for optimum relationship of flow areas for gas and air branching channels.     

Analysis of stresses in a cylindrical shell under transverse local loading

The solution is obtained based on the differential equations for the general theory of shells and approximate equations that are the components of the method of asymptotic synthesis. Numerical results are presented.     

Analysis of a coaxial gas ejector

In this paper, the results of investigating a coaxial gas ejector without increase of passive flow pressure are presented. A technique for calculation of coaxial ejectors has been developed. This investigation has resulted in the optimal structure of ejector with a high value of ejection coefficient.     

A synthetic aviation hydraulic fluid of new generation

The results of investigating a domestic synthetic hydraulic fluid of new generation are presented. By comparing with the existing domestic and foreign analogues, we specify the main advantages and disadvantages of this hydraulic fluid.     

Elastoplastic stresses of a shell of revolution made from the material with linear hardening loaded by a force at the pole

We analyze the elastoplastic stress-strain state of an axisymmetrical parabolic type shell of revolution at the pole of which the concentrated force is applied. The shell is considered as a momentless one, and the properties of its material are schematized by the tensile diagram with linear hardening. The problem is solved in stresses, the corresponding equations are constructed, and the solution is given.     

Direct comparison of transient radiation belt topology and dynamics in 1991 based on measurements onboard Mir space station and NOAA satellite.

In March 1991 the CRRES spacecraft measured a new transient radiation belt resulting from a solar proton event and subsequent geomagnetic disturbance. The presence of this belt was also noted by dosimeter-radiometers aboard the Mir space station (approx. 400 km, 51 degrees orbit) and by particle telescopes on the NOAA-10 spacecraft (850 km, 98 degrees). This event provides a unique opportunity to compare particle flux and dose measurements made by different instruments in different orbits under changing conditions. We present here a comparison of the measurements made by the different detectors. We discuss the topology and dynamics of the transient radiation belt over a period of more than one year.     

To an issue of rating the external loads on a helicopter with skid landing gear for landing loading condition

The existing technique of rating the external loads on a helicopter with skid type landing gear according to Airworthiness Standards [1] is analyzed and the results of comparing with design and experimental studies are presented. The main existing problems both in design simulation and the system of requirements to the conditions of rating the loads on the skid landing gear helicopter are identified. Also proposed are the techniques to increase safety of the helicopter emergency landing by refining the rating conditions of external loads at the design stage.     

Radial pressure distribution in lateral clearances of the semi-open axiradial impeller of the centrifugal compressor

We present the results of the numerical simulation of a flow and radial pressure distribution in the lateral clearances of the semi-open axiradial impeller of the centrifugal compressor with the use of the FlowVision and Fluent software. The results of the numerical analysis were compared with the known experimental data.     

Verification of a mathematical model of dynamic loading in the quasistatic statement for a helicopter tubular skid landing gear by the results of drop tests

We present the results of verifying a mathematical model of dynamic loading of the helicopter skid landing gear with regard for two successive landing impacts. Also presented are the results of analyzing the interaction of springs in the course of drop tests.
