The gravitropism of protonemata of Pohlia nutans is described and compared with that of other mosses. In darkness, protonemata showed negative gravitropism. Under uniform illumination they grew radially over the substrate surface, whereas unilateral illumination induced positive phototropic growth. Gravitropism was coupled with starch synthesis and amyloplast formation. Protonematal gravitropic growth is more variable than the strict negative gravitropism of Ceratodon chloronema.  相似文献

The results of proton energy (tens keV – several MeV) spectrum measurements near geomagnetic equator (L < 1.15) at low altitudes (<1000 km) are presented. We used data of experiments onboard ACTIVE, SAMPEX, NOAA TIROS-N satellites and SPRUT-VI (MIR station) and cover a time range of about 30 years (including previous measurements). It was found that the kappa-distribution function fits the experimental spectrum with the best correlation coefficient. A comparison of energy spectra of near-equatorial protons and ring-current protons was made. Using the estimation of the life time of near-equatorial protons we explain the difference in spectral indices of radiation belt and near-equatorial proton formation. We conclude that the ring current is the main source of the near-equatorial protons.  相似文献

A new set of data obtained at low solar activity from Ilorin, Nigeria (geog. latitude 8.5°N, geog longitude, 4.6°E, dip 4.1°S) is used to validate the IRI 2001 model at low solar activity. The results show in general a good agreement between model and observed B0 at night but an over estimation during daytime. The overestimation is greatest during the morning period (0600LT–1000LT). The model prediction for B1 is fairly good at night and during the day. A dependence of B0 on solar zenith angle χ is observed during the daytime. A formulation of the form B0 = A[cos(χ)n] is therefore proposed. Values of the constants n and A were determined for the period of low solar activity for this station.  相似文献

Statistical properties of magnetic field and plasma flux fluctuations outside the Earth’s magnetosphere are studied on various time scales based on the INTERBALL-1 satellite data. The analysis of “rough” turbulence characteristics has shown that turbulence properties in various parts of the magnetosheath are distinct. The spectral density of the magnetic field undergoes a break at a frequency of ∼0.5 Hz. As a more “fine” characteristic of the fluctuations on various time scales, changes in the shape and parameters of the probability density function were studied. The analysis of the height of a maximum of the probability density function P(0) and of the kurtosis values have shown the presence of two asymptotic modes of P(0), which are characterized by different power laws. The critical scale, on which the properties of P(0) change, corresponds, presumably, to the scales of the Larmor radius of ions. Based on the results of studying structural functions of various orders, the conclusion is drawn that small-scale turbulence in the foreshock and magnetosheath is described by different phenomenological models.  相似文献

The STEREO/Waves experiment is dedicated to the study of inner heliosphere radio emissions. This experiment is composed of a set of two identical receivers placed on each of the two STEREO spacecraft. The STEREO/Waves receivers have instantaneous Goniopolarimetric (GP) capabilities (also referred to as direction-finding capabilities). This means that it is possible to retrieve the direction of arrival of an incoming electromagnetic radio wave, its flux and its polarization. We review the state of the art of GP-capable radio receivers and available GP techniques. We then present the GP capabilities of the STEREO/Waves experiment. We finally show some GP results on solar Type III radio bursts, using data recorded with the Cassini/RPWS/HFR, which are very similar to the STEREO/Waves data.  相似文献

The paper shows the efficiency of an application of the vegetation index image time series to determine long-term vegetation dynamics. The influence of large industrial centers of Siberia on the near-by vegetation is demonstrated. The analysis of the data shows that the influence of industrial waste is stronger in the Siberian North. These regions are characterized by critical conditions for vegetation existence. In the south of the Krasnoyarsk region, human impact is also important, but the possibility of vegetation self-rehabilitation is higher. The present-day economic situation in Russia is unique, with a temporary abrupt fall of industrial production and its following increase. Thus, we managed to analyze the degree of human impact on the environment within a relatively short-time interval.  相似文献

The linear minimum variance estimator of a random signal, received multiplied by a complex Gaussian phase error and added to random noise, is investigated. The results apply to the propagation of images through the turbulent atmosphere, fading channels, and synthetic-aperture radar. Among others, a result is that the multiplicative error can be replaced by an additive error, usually white. The best signal modulation is found in two important special cases.  相似文献

Spacecraft propulsion is the area needing expansion of capabilities over the next several years. The capability for lofting large payloads (up to one-quarter million pounds) into space is virtually in hand. The ability to transport payloads and men in the space arena, to conduct rendezvous maneuvers, and to orbit and land on the planets, as well as the moon, now needs implementation in better and more efficient machinery. Transporting men to the planets is feasible with systems already demonstrated. Their development is a matter of decision, investment, and time.  相似文献

If modern airborne radar systems are to function properly, the radar antenna radiation patterns must meet certain specifications. Until recently, most radar antennas were designed and tested in a clean antenna environment, i.e., there is no near field scattering from host structures or radome effects. However, these higher order effects are the matter of increasing concern with added performance demands in the ever-increasing jammer and clutter interference environments. We investigated the capabilities and limitations of currently available analysis techniques and computer codes for installed performance of airborne radar antenna systems. Then we developed an extended ray-optical technique that could predict total installed performance of airborne radar antenna systems, i.e., the near field scattering from aircraft structures and radome effects. The new analysis technique utilized a ray-tracing method in both airframe and radome simulation. Moss protonemata exhibit negative gravitropism and the amyloplasts of the apical cell seem to play a key role in protonemal gravisensitivity. However, the mechanisms of this process are still poorly understood. Previously, we have shown that Ceratodon protonemata grown on agar-medium demonstrated greater gravicurvature than protonemata grown on medium with 11 mM glucose. In this study, we have examined whether gibberellic acid (GA), which promotes alpha-amylase expression, influences graviresponse of C. purpureus protonemata (strains WT-4 and WT-U) and how this event interacts with exogenous soluble sugars. After gravistimulation the WT-4 strain curved about twice as fast as the WT-U strain. However, responses of both strains to added substances were similar. High concentration of glucose (0.11 M) caused a decrease in protonema curvature, while the same concentration of sucrose did not significantly change the angles of curvature compared with controls. GA at 0.1 mM and higher concentrations inhibited gravitropism, and caused some apical cells to swell. The possible involvement of the carbohydrates in gravitropism is discussed.  相似文献
