The use of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) microprocessors for safety-critical applications usually implies derating of the device to make it work in harsh environments. We discuss derating concerns for state-of-the-art microprocessors. Issues addressed herein include noise margins due to low voltage levels, multiple power supplies, frequency and current derating concerns, error sources, timing degradation, power-aware architectures, and new advanced microprocessor derating features.  相似文献

The unsteady aerodynamic loads (pressure increment and generalized forces) acting on a deformable thin airfoil section are determined for its arbitrary motion in the incompressible flow with transverse gusts. In this case, the exact Küssner solution in series is used for harmonic oscillation of an airfoil, in which the Theodorsen function is approximated by a sum of fractional functions with poles. In the time domain, these functions are replaced by the unknown functions that satisfy the one-type ordinary first order differential equations. The equations obtained are combined with the differential equations of the airfoil motion in the generalized coordinates and are used for analyzing the aeroelastic system stability and calculating its dynamic response to gust loads.  相似文献

Wireless ad hoc networks have fundamentally altered today's battlefield, with applications ranging from unmanned air vehicles to randomly deployed sensor networks. Security and vulnerabilities in wireless ad hoc networks have been considered at different layers, and many attack strategies have been proposed, including denial of service (DoS) through the intelligent jamming of the most critical packet types of flows in a network. This investigates the effectiveness of intelligent jamming in wireless ad hoc networks using the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and TCP protocols and introduces an intelligent classifier to facilitate the jamming of such networks. Assuming encrypted packet headers and contents, our classifier is based solely on the observable characteristics of size, inter-arrival timing, and direction and classifies packets with up to 9.4% accuracy in our experiments.  相似文献

The status of computational tests for establishing matrix positive semidefiniteness and positive definiteness is reviewed. Two pervasive real-time tests that have been used for many years in varied applications to ensure that computed covariances encountered in Kalman filter applications are positive definite and discussed. Structural representations of covariance matrices are reviewed as a prelude to constructing a counterexample and demonstrating that it refutes these real-time tests. It is maintained that the latter are bogus approaches despite the fact that they are pervasive. It is suggested that such bogus tests arose as an attempt to fill the need for a quick check (over the entire mission time) of the massive number of matrices computationally encountered in real-time applications  相似文献

The accuracy of presently available IR horizon sensors is not sufficient to meet the stringent attitude sensing and control requirements for future remote sensing and meteorological satellites. The different sources of error in a horizon sensor are analyzed. The accuracy of the sensor is presently limited by the detector noise. Use of HgCdTe in place of an immersed bolometer detector, which is used in conventional horizon sensors eliminates many of the errors. Hence, it is possible to design an ultimate IR horizon sensor whose accuracy is limited only by the uncertainty of the Earth horizon. Comparison of performances of the two types of detectors for horizon sensing is given and possible configurations of sensor using this detector are discussed.  相似文献

The design of adaptive filters for the tracking of high-performance maneuvering targets is a fundamental problem in real-time surveillance systems. As is well known, a filter which provides heavy smoothing can not accurately track an evasive maneuver, and conversely. Consequently, one is led to the consideration of adaptive methods of filter design. This paper presents an improved self-adaptive filter algorithm for on-line solution of the above problem. Basically, this algorithm utilizes the orthogonality property of the residual time series to force the filter to automatically track the optimal gain levels in a changing environment.  相似文献

Aircraft traffic management on the airport surface will require the effective utilization of communications, navigation and surveillance (CNS). This paper describes an experiment which provides a glimpse of future automation. The experiment combines precision surface radar, high-accuracy differential GPS (DGPS) position determination, automatic dependent surveillance (ADS), and ground and airborne automation systems able to intercommunicate via a VHF data link. In particular, this paper describes the air/ground communications provided by the VHF Data Link. Two classes of messages are processed: continual and ad hoc. The former include DGPS corrections, ADS messages and target data. The latter include graphical taxi clearances and hold bar set-reset information. The work described in this paper is the result of a cooperative venture among NASA, Westinghouse-Norden Systems and ARINC  相似文献
