The observations of AGNs in the 40–1300 keV energy range by the SIGMA telescope

The SIGMA telescope realizes images of the sky in the hard X-ray domain (40 keV–1.3 MeV) through a coded mask system. The extragalactic study was one of the main objectives and has brought new results in our knowledge of the Active Galactic Nuclei behavior at high energy.

In fact, the variability is the most important factor as all these objects have been showed to display strong evolution in intensity or/and spectral shape. Moreover, the discovery of a new hard X-ray source close to 3C273 and probably strongly absorbed below 40–50 keV could have many consequences in the extragalactic field.     

Radiation of accretion disks in quasars and galactic nuclei

The continuum spectra of accretion disks around supermassive Schvarzshild black hole are calculated for a set of accretion disk parameters. In every point of the disk surface the atmosphere is considered to be similar to the atmosphere of the star with the same values of the surface gravity and effective temperature. All important effects of general relativity affected the spectrum shape are taken into account.     

Observations of extragalactic objects with telescope ART-P onboard Granat

During 1990–1991 more than two dozens of extragalactic objects were observed by X-ray instruments aboard the Granat satellite. Among them there were AGNs and Seyfert galaxies (NGC4151, NGC5548, MCG-30-15, IC4329 etc.), quasars (3C273, 3C390.3 etc.), radio galaxies (Cen A, M87 etc.) and clusters of galaxies (Virgo, Perseus, Coma etc.). We will discuss below the preliminary results obtained with the ART-P telescope during the observations of five sources: NGC4151, 3C273, Cen A and the galaxies M87 and NGC4388 on the Virgo cluster.     

Fine scale temporal structures in solar hard X-ray bursts observed by PHEBUS

We report here on preliminary results of a systematic study of fast temporal fluctuations in impulsive and extended solar X-ray bursts observed by PHEBUS at energies around 100 keV. Subsecond timescales are quite common in the impulsive events and are not observed in extended ones.
