More than 20 years ago V.P. Shabansky suggested that the magnetic system installed aboard the satellite, could be used as a physical instrument for studying the processes which occur in the near Earth space. The corresponding space scales of an artificial “magnetosphere”—“magnisphere”—are 10 m in the experiment with relatively small magnets in the ionosphere and 100 m in the solar wind. The corresponding similarity criteria are estimated. The possible scheme of the experiment with a superconducting magnet (magnetic moment 105 A · m2) installed aboard the satellite is considered. The experimental complex includes a number of systems for measuring the fluxes of charged particles in a wide energy range, DC electric and magnetic fields, the electromagnetic fields in different frequency bands (from X-rays to radio). Three-frequency resonances in the problem of fast rotation of an asymmetric body in elliptical orbit
The paper presents a classification of resonance problems generated by the highest-degree term of the perturbing function in the problem of fast rotation of an asymmetric solid body in elliptic orbit in a central gravitational field. Explicit formulas are obtained for Hamiltonians of all Hamiltonian systems that deter-mine motions in the neighborhood of resonances. Basic resonance effects are described. 相似文献

Microorganisms may be a key element in a precursory scenario of growing pioneer plants for extraterrestrial exploration. They can be used for plant inoculation to leach nutritional elements from regolith, to alleviate lunar stressors, as well as to decompose both lunar rocks and the plant straw in order to form a protosoil. Bioleaching capacities of both French marigold (Tagetes patula L.) and the associated bacteria in contact with a lunar rock simulant (terrestrial anorthosite) were examined using the model plant-bacteria microcosms under controlled conditions. Marigold accumulated K, Na, Fe, Zn, Ni, and Cr at higher concentrations in anorthosite compared to the podzol soil. Plants inoculated with the consortium of well-defined species of bacteria accumulated higher levels of K, Mg, and Mn, but lower levels of Ni, Cr, Zn, Na, Ca, Fe, which exist at higher levels in anorthosite. Bacteria also affected the Са/Mg and Fe/Mn ratios in the biomass of marigold grown on anorthosite. Despite their growth retardation, the inoculated plants had 15% higher weight on anorthosite than noninoculated plants. The data suggest that the bacteria supplied basic macro-and microelements to the model plant. 相似文献

In 2008, two experiments – BAR and EXPERT – were performed on the Russian segment (ISS RS) during ISS missions 16 and 17 using diagnostic equipment BAR. The experiments were aimed to enhance ISS safety by proposing means and methods of detecting leaks due to many factors including microdestruction of pressurized modules of the vehicle. The BAR experiment was designed to assess the ultraviolet background in 56 potentially dangerous locations identified by RS ISS designers and engineers. The method for locating sites carrying the risk of microdestruction of pressurized structure was verified. The study showed that the rate of microdestruction is highly affected by level of ultrasound vibrations caused by onboard equipment. The ultrasound measurements in 200 RS ISS sites were performed within the BAR experiment. The method consists of looking for surfaces with atmospheric condensate in the areas of increased levels of ultrasound vibrations. Twenty six sites were added to the nomenclature of potentially risky sites to be monitored on the regular basis. Some of these sites were contaminated by fungi and bacteria. 相似文献

As part of the GENEX (Gene Expression) spaceflight experiment, protocols were developed to optimize the inflight germination and subsequent growth of 192 soybean (Glycine max cv McCall) seeds during STS-87. We describe a method which provided uniform growth and development of etiolated seedlings while eliminating root and shoot restrictions for short-term (4-7 day) experiments. During the growth and development of the sporophytic capsules of some moss species, negative gravitropism is changed for a positive one. Horizontal clinostat rotation induced unregulated growth of the sporophytes and their twisting; some of sporophytes remained straight, however. New experimental data obtained on the orbital station ‘MIR’ in 1991 during solar maximum are discussed. Electron fluxes with Ee>75 keV were registered for three different directions as well as for electrons with Ee>300 and 600 keV. Spatial and time distributions of electron fluxes in the trapping region are presented. In the inner radiation belt an additional maximum is observed at L=1.25–1.35, and the fluxes in the 22-05h MLT interval are 2–3 orders of magnitude smaller, than during other local times. In this region a flattening of the electron spectrum is observed. The results obtained were compared with the AE-8 model. 相似文献

The quasi-stationary electrical fields have been measured in the near-surface zone of the Kvant module of the Mir orbital complex using vibration-type sensors of the Zond-Zaryad instrument. The analysis of measurements has shown that, depending on the spacecraft’s surface section shape (an octagon), four areas of the electrical fields configuration (and of the plasma component density) were revealed in the spacecraft vicinity: a ram with angular extension of about 120° (±60°), two side areas with angular extension of about 60° each, and a wake with angular extension of about 120° (±60°). The electrical field in the ram has a small absolute value. In the side areas, the electrical field can have either a negative or positive value, and it is smaller in magnitude than that in the ram. The electrical field in the wake has a three-petal structure (and an even more complicated structure is also possible): the negative value of the field (with angular extension of about 45°), the positive value of the field (with angular extension of about 30°), and, again, the negative value of the field (with angular extension of about 45°). Absolute value of the field in the wake is at least an order of magnitude higher than that in the ram and on the side surfaces. 相似文献
