The in situ validation of the satellite altimeter sea surface heights is generally performed either at a few local points directly flown over by the satellites or using the global tide gauge network. A regional in situ calibration method was developed by NOVELTIS in order to monitor the altimeter data quality in a perimeter of several hundred kilometres around a given in situ calibration site. The primary advantage of this technique is its applicability not only for missions flying over dedicated sites but also for missions on interleaved or non repetitive orbits. This article presents the altimeter bias estimates obtained with this method at the Corsican calibration site, for the Jason-1 mission on its nominal and interleaved orbits as well as for the Jason-2 and Envisat missions. The various regional bias estimates (8.2 cm and 7.4 cm for Jason-1 respectively on the nominal and interleaved orbits in Senetosa, 16.4 cm for Jason-2 in Senetosa and 47.0 cm for Envisat in Ajaccio, with an accuracy between 2.5 cm and 4 cm depending on the mission) are compared with the results obtained by the other in situ calibration teams. This comparison demonstrates the coherency at the centimetre level, the stability and the generic character of the method, which would also be of benefit to the new and future altimeter missions such as Cryosat-2, SARAL/AltiKa, Sentinel-3, Jason-3, Jason-CS.  相似文献

This study presents the results of calibration/validation (C/V) of Envisat satellite radar altimeter over Lake Issykkul located in Kyrgyzstan, which was chosen as a dedicated radar altimetry C/V site in 2004. The objectives are to estimate the absolute altimeter bias of Envisat and its orbit based on cross-over analysis with TOPEX/Poseidon (T/P), Jason-1 and Jason-2 over the ocean. We have used a new method of GPS data processing in a kinematic mode, developed at the Groupe de Recherche de Geodesie Spatiale (GRGS), which allows us to calculate the position of the GPS antenna without needing a GPS reference station. The C/V is conducted using various equipments: a local GPS network, a moving GPS antenna along the satellites tracks over Lake Issykkul, In Situ level gauges and weather stations. The absolute bias obtained for Envisat from field campaigns conducted in 2009 and 2010 is between 62.1 and 63.4 ± 3.7 cm, using the Ice-1 retracking algorithm, and between 46.9 and 51.2 cm with the ocean retracking algorithm. These results differ by about 10 cm from previous studies, principally due to improvement of the C/V procedure. Apart from the new algorithm for GPS data processing and the orbit error reduction, more attention has been paid to the GPS antenna height calculation, and we have reduced the errors induced by seiche over Lake Issykkul. This has been assured using cruise data along the Envisat satellite track at the exact date of the pass of the satellite for the two campaigns. The calculation of the Envisat radar altimeter bias with respect to the GPS levelling is essential to allow the continuity of multi-mission data on the same orbit, with the expected launch of SARAL/Altika mission in 2012. Implications for hydrology in particular, will be to produce long term homogeneous and reliable time series of lake levels worldwide.  相似文献

We study the design of constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) tests for detecting a rank-one signal in the presence of background Gaussian noise with unknown spatial covariance. We look at invariant tests, i.e., those tests whose performance is independent of the nuisance parameters, like the background noise covariance. Such tests are shown to have the desirable CFAR property. We characterize the class of all such tests by showing that any invariant decision statistic can be written as a function of two basic statistics which are in fact the adaptive matched filter (AMF) statistic and Kelly's generalized likelihood ratio statistic. Further, we establish an optimum test in the limit of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the locally most powerful invariant (LMPI) test. We also derive the bound for the probability of detection of any invariant detector, at a fixed false-alarm rate, and compare the LMPI and the published detectors (Kelly and AMF) to it  相似文献

We give a short account of the most prominent structures of the intermediate corona. Then we propose an axially symmetrical model for coronal streamers, according to which charged particles move along magnetic surfaces whose sources are electrical currents situated in the vicinity of the photosphere. The simplest current configuration is a pair of coaxial, coplanar, circular, and oppositely directed currents parallel to the photosphere. Magnetic surfaces for this current distribution exhibit a helmet-shaped separatrix and a saddle point. The temperature profile along the streamer can be predicted qualitatively if one takes into account the conservation of an adiabatic invariant in the drift theory of the charged particle motion.  相似文献

An adaptive delay-estimation (ADE) algorithm is proposed for the continuous tracking of time-delay. The method uses an adaptive delay line which is interpolated by a first-order filter. Two delay-line interpolating filters are considered, each having a single coefficient which is estimated in real time. The first implements linear interpolation, and the second interpolates using a first-order allpass filter. Since the ADE algorithm is derived from recursive Gauss-Newton optimization, it can be viewed as a recursive maximum likelihood (RML) algorithm for time-delay estimation.  相似文献

Implementation and convergence of adaptive processors are of continuing interest. To this end, a fast-adapting, linear, general recursive matrix-filtering algorithm is described. Two complex xoefficients are optimized at each recursion. A signal and interference estimation procedure is included. Results for some low-resolution, frequency domain beamformer trials with two targets, and using a single sample set, are presented. Considerable adaptive improvement occurs, along with target resolution, compared with a correlation beamformer. The algorithm shows rapid and direct convergence.  相似文献

The radio wave propagation in the solar-wind plasma was investigated before and after Mars-2, Mars-7 and Venera-10's superior conjunction. It was found that the moving turbulent solar-wind plasma produced the amplitude and frequency fluctuations and the spectral broadening of monochromatic radio waves. When the Sun-Earth-spacecraft angle decreases from 6° to (0.6) the bandwidth of spectral broadening increases from (0.3) Hz to 300 Hz. The region of 2.5–4° is specific since the bandwidth of spectral broadening is independent of Sun-Earth-spacecraft angle. The spectrum of frequency fluctuations could be represented by a power law with a spectral index of 0.7 ± 0.2. The temporal frequency spectra of the amplitude have two distinct regions. In the low-frequency region the spectral density is approximately constant. The high-frequency portion of the amplitude spectrum follows the power law with a spectral index of 2.8 ± 0.4. The turbulence characteristics of a solar-wind plasma are determined from the experimental data obtained. The three-dimensional wave-number spectrum of irregularities is found to be close to the Kolmogorov-Oboukhov spectrum.The solar-wind density fluctuations decline with heliocentric distance very steeply, but in the distance interval of 7 × 106 – 12 × 106 km, there is a region of enhanced turbulence which could be caused by shock waves.  相似文献

Optimization of ion-propelled space vehicles is a topic of many aspects. Well known is the Stuhlinger procedure, which results in maximum payload mass fraction, given some mission and vehicle characteristic data. This procedure determines all major vehicle data—specifically, the electric power level. It is described with some refinements in this paper. Furthermore, a novel problem is treated: What set of vehicular data leads to the shortest possible propulsive mission duration, for a given electric power level? This goes beyond the “classic” Stuhlinger treatment; but is built upon this fundament.  相似文献
