Here are presented experimental results concerning the registration by ground magnetometers of artificial MHD echo generated by powerful pulse current in ground loop contour. Data analysis was made of several magnetic stations for 16 experiments with giant loop-current contour giving magnetic flux 106nT/km2 (the current attained 20 kA). Only several rather weak bursts were registered which appeared 78±2s after main switch impulse. Echo signal was a few nanotesla. Taking into account real magnetosphere tube configuration for L ≈ 5,5 and Kp≤2 it was shown that the signal with such a delay corresponds to propagation of artificial excited Alfven echo, returning back from a magnetoconjugate ionospheric region. Meanwhile, the amplitude exceed by one order the theoretically calculated one.  相似文献

This investigation consisted of several tests of specially fabricated nickel-cadmium batteries having circular disk-type electrodes. These batteries were evaluated as filter elements between a constant current power supply and a 5 Hz pulsed load demanding approximately twice the power supply current during the load on a portion of the cycle. Short tests lasting 104 cycles were conducted at up to a 21 C rate and an equivalent energy density of over 40 J/Ib. In addition, two batteries were subjected to 10h dischar cycles, one at a 6.5 C rate and the other at a 13 C rate. Assuming an electrode-to-battery weight ratio of 0.5, these tests represent an energy density of about 7 and 14 J/Ib, respectively. Energy density, efficiency, capacitance, average voltage, and available capacity were tracked during these tests. After 10y capacity degradation was negligible for one battery and about 20 percent for the other. Cadmium electrode failure may be the factor limiting lifetime at extremely low depth of discharge cycling. The output was examined and a simple equivalent circuit was proposed.  相似文献

We use a simplified atmospheric general circulation model (AGCM) to investigate the response of the lower atmosphere to thermal perturbations in the lower stratosphere. The results show that generic heating of the lower stratosphere tends to weaken the sub-tropical jets and the tropospheric mean meridional circulations. The positions of the jets, and the extent of the Hadley cells, respond to the distribution of the stratospheric heating, with low latitude heating displacing them poleward, and uniform heating displacing them equatorward. The patterns of response to the low latitude heating are similar to those found to be associated with solar variability in previous observational data analysis, and to the effects of varying solar UV radiation in sophisticated AGCMs. In order to investigate the chain of causality involved in converting the stratospheric thermal forcing to a tropospheric climate signal we conduct an experiment which uses an ensemble of model spin-ups to analyse the time development of the response to an applied stratospheric perturbation. We find that the initial effect of the change in static stability at the tropopause is to reduce the eddy momentum flux convergence in this region. This is followed by a vertical transfer of the momentum forcing anomaly by an anomalous mean circulation to the surface, where it is partly balanced by surface stress anomalies. The unbalanced part drives the evolution of the vertically integrated zonal flow. We conclude that solar heating of the stratosphere may produce changes in the circulation of the troposphere even without any direct forcing below the tropopause. We suggest that the impact of the stratospheric changes on wave propagation is key to the mechanisms involved.  相似文献

Clutter and jammer multipath cancellation in airborne adaptiveradar   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Airborne surveillance radars must detect and localize targets in diverse interference environments consisting of ground clutter, conventional jamming, and terrain scattered jammer multipath. Multidimensional adaptive filtering techniques have been proposed to adaptively cancel this interference. However, a detailed analysis that includes the effects of multipath nonstationarity has been elusive. This work addresses the nonstationary nature of the jammer multipath and its impact on clutter cancellation and target localization. It is shown that the weight updating needed to track this interference will also modulate sidelobe signals. At the very least, this complicates the localization of targets. At the worst, it also greatly complicates the rejection of clutter. Several techniques for improving cancellation of jammer multipath and clutter are proposed, including 1) weight vector interpolation, extrapolation, and updating; 2) filter architecture, constraint, and beamspace selection; 3) prefilters; 4) 3-D STAP architectures; and 5) multidimensional sidelobe target editing  相似文献

The first 8.5m infrared heterodyne spectrometer has been constructed using tuneable semiconductor (PbSe) diode lasers and was used to measure absorption line profiles of N2O in the laboratory and black body emission from the Moon and from Mars. Spectral information was recorded over a 200 MHz bandwidth using an 8-channel filter bank. The resolution was 25 MHz (6 × 10–6 m) and the minimum detectable (black-body) power was 1 × 10–16 W for 8 min of integration. The results demonstrate the usefulness of heterodyne spectroscopy for the study of remote and local sources in the infrared.We wish to thank Dr Jack Butler and Craig Simpson (Arthur D. Rats on board the Soviet Cosmos 936 satellite for 1812 days showed a decreased glycoprotein secretion from the salivary mucous glands, stomach and intestine, and an increased leucine aminopeptidase and acid phosphatase content from the small intestine. Grimelius positive cells were activated. One group of rats were centrifuged at 1 g during the flight to simulate terrestrial gravity. Some investigations have suggested that under these conditions muscular and cardiac disorders diminished. In the digestive tract the benefits of centrifugation at 1 g are minimal and limited to a few glycoprotein components. The digestive changes are probably the expression of a stress response, unrelated to weightlessness. Similar changes, concomitant with a glycocorticoid hypersecretion, were found in rats after 15 days of hypokinesia on Earth. These digestive changes persisted even in adrenalectomized rats.  相似文献

Measurement of the angular orientation of the target or the target designation makes possible the design of high-accuracy tracking and prediction systems. Such measurements are best accomplished with an imaging sensor. A model is presented for the image-based observation link, along with the equations used to convert a sequence of image processor outputs into an estimate of target status. An example examines the interrelationship which exists between the rate of feature changes of a target, the frame rate of the imager, and the sensitivity of the sensor-image processor. Euler and roll-pitch-yaw angles are routinely used to represent the orientation of rigid bodies in aerospace, navigation, and robotics because they minimize the dimensionality of the control problem.Both representations, however, introduce unwarranted mathematical singularities which are identified in this paper.Trajectory-tracking algorithms break down at singularities and cause loss of control. Since mathematical singularities do not reflect physical limitations of orientation, remedial measures can beimplemented in the controller.  相似文献

Solar variability effects studied by tree-ring data wavelet analysis   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
The global change approach to study the Sun-Earth system gives a growing amount of evidences that climate dynamics is affected by a large number of factors. The solar variability is very likely to be among them. Natural records, such as tree ring data, can be investigated to study the past global and regional climate, which was influenced by the solar radiative output variations, associated to solar activity. Wavelet transform analysis was applied to sunspot number and tree ring width time series from 1837 to 1996 at Concórdia, Brazil. The amplitude and cross-amplitude spectral representation in the time-frequency domain allowed us to detect the occurrence of predominant periodicities and the relationship between the sunspot number and the tree ring time series. The Morlet complex wavelet analysis was used to study the most important variability factors on time scales ranging from from 2 to 100 years, and their stability in time, which is shown in both time series studied. We also applied the cross-wavelet spectral analysis to evaluate time delay among different tree ring time series, and between tree ring and sunspot number time series.  相似文献
