Anomalous enhancement of electric field derived from ionosonde data before the great Wenchuan earthquake

The seismo-ionospheric coupling is a hot topic of modern scientific research. One of the most reasonable mechanisms is the hypothesis of quasistatic electric field. With a preliminary analytical method, electric field in F2-region before Wenchuan earthquake was derived from the five lower latitude ground-based ionosondes: Lhasa (29.63°N, 91.17°E), Chongqing (29.50°N, 106.40°E), Kunming (25.00°N, 102.70°E), Guangzhou (23.15°N, 113.35°E) and Haikou (23.15°N, 110.35°E). The results show that there was an anomalous enhancement of electric field in F2-region close to the epicenter with maximal amplitude ∼2 mV/m (about 10 times of the background) at 15:00 LT on 9 May, which is in line with the amplitudes of anomalous electric field related to some previous earthquakes observed by satellites.     

SIMULATION OF BLEED AIR BEHAVIOR DURING AIRCRAFT IN FLIGHT BASED ON FLOWMASTER

Bleed air system is one of the most important components of air management system(AMS).It acts as transfer pipes responsible for air supply at high temperature and pressure.The thermal and flow performance of the bleed air system is a key issue for the design of AMS since the characteristics of air source have a great influence on the anti-ice system,the environmental control system and other downstream system in need of high temperature pressurized air.Based on the one-dimensional lumped parameter technology,a computer analysis model of bleed air system is developed in order to analyze the thermal and flow behaviors of the nodal points in the pipeline network.The simulation are performed with a given flight assignment using the analysis model,and the results verify that the system meets the design requirements.

2DPIV视场布置方案研究

针对大迎角旋涡三维分离流动空间速度场的测量,介绍了一种能够减小2DPIV实验透视误差的视场布置方案,并将该方案应用于大迎角前体非对称涡流动二涡区截面流场的研究中,比较SPIV和2DPIV同步测量结果的差异。实验结果表明,该视场布置方案能够将2DPIV所摄截面旋涡区速度分量u、v的透视误差由原来的14%、18%减小至5%以内(相对于来流风速V∞)。该视场布置方案可将2DPIV测量旋涡涡心的位置误差控制在流场结构空间分辨率的范围之内。

两类激波捕捉格式的性能分析

考虑了两类典型的激波捕捉格式:特征形式的MUSCL(Monotone Upstream-centred Schemes for Conservation Laws)格式和WENO(Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory)格式.MUSCL格式在作特征变换时使用了局部线性化的思想,并且针对波系的性质施加相应的限制器;通过逐维重构实现有限体积法的WENO格式.针对一维、二维和三维Euler系统进行数值实验.在一维和二维的情况下,特征形式的MUSCL格式在接触间断的捕捉上具有较明显的优势,而对于激波的捕捉则差别不大.对于三维问题则是WENO格式对流场的分辨更精细.最后对上述结果给出解释,并且提出了可能的改进方法.     

Mutations in cauliflower and sprout broccoli grown from seeds flown in space

Cauliflower and sprout broccoli are widely planted vegetables particularly in Fujian Province, China. To study the mutation in these two types of vegetables induced from spaceflight, we flew the seeds on the 20th Chinese recoverable satellite which orbited the Earth for 18 days. After returning to the Earth, the cauliflower seeds were planted for two generations and the sprout broccoli seeds for one generation at the Xiamen Agriculture Research Institute. Of the 12 cauliflowers planted for the first generation, two showed significant phenotypical changes in both the size of the plant and the weight of the flower head. In addition, most of the space flown plants were found to be resistant to the black rot attack in the field. Cauliflowers planted for the second generation from the seeds in one of the two plants that displayed phenotypical changes in the first generation showed similar mutations. For the first generation of sprout broccoli, the rate of emergence from the flown seeds was lower than that of the control by 30%. No significant changes in the phenotype between the sprout broccolis planted from the flown seeds and the control were observed except one of the mutated sprout broccolis showed a change in the appearance in the lesser bud of the chief flower head. Results of the study demonstrated that DNA damages in some of the genes may have occurred in the seeds flown in space, and some of the changes in the genes may have inherited from the first to the second generation. The improved resistance to the black rot attack and increased size of the flower head are apparently beneficial.

Relationship Between Corrosion Level of Steel Bar and Diameter of Corroded Sensing Steel Wire in Wireless Sensor

A kind of wireless sensor was previously developed,which is powered and transmit signals wirelessly instead of using an electrical connection to the embedded reinforcement.Based on this technique,the relationship between diameters of corroded sensing steel wires and corrosion levels of steel bars is established by experiments.Quadratic function is utilized to fit the experiment results,and the correlation coefficients are all larger than 0.95.Estimated corrosion levels of commonly used steel bars are given for different diameters of corroded sensing steel wires fractured due to corrosion.
