The purpose of the present experiment was to study the way in which the CNS represents gravitational force during vertical arm pointing movements. Movements in upward and downward directions were executed by two cosmonauts in normal-gravity and weightlessness. Analyses focused upon finger kinematics in the sagittal plane. In normal-gravity, downward direction movements showed smaller curvatures and greater relative times to peak velocity (AT/MT) when compared with upward direction movements. Data from the weightlessness experiments showed that whilst downward movements decreased their curvature during space flight, curvatures of upward movements changed slightly. Furthermore, AT/MT was modified during the first days in micro-gravity for both directions, recovering, however, to pre-flight values after 18 days in space. Results from the present study, provide evidence that gravitational force is centrally treated constituting an important component of the motor plan for vertical arm movements. 相似文献

This paper presents a design consideration for the effects of long feeding cables in pulsewidth modulation (PWM) voltage-fed drive. The focus is mainly the overvoltage transient presented in the motor. Theoretical analysis has been achieved based on the transmission line traveling wave theory. Factors contributing to the motor transient overvoltage including typically < 2 pu (per unit) bus voltage or especially the > 2 pu case are described both in theory and by experiment. An improved simple filter structure with low power loss has been proposed. A typical function of an angle tracking loop is to keep a radar antenna pointed at a target. The error in pointing is directly related to successful operation of the tracking device; therefore, its behavior is of interest. For a tracker with a general polynomial nonlinearity, an arbitrary initial pointing error, and a bounded deterministic input, a method is developed for finding upper bounds on the magnitude of the tracking error using Volterra series techniques. Formation and Evolution of Corotating Interaction Regions and their Three Dimensional Structure 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Corotating interaction regions are a consequence of spatial variability in the coronal expansion and solar rotation, which cause solar wind flows of different speeds to become radially aligned. Compressive interaction regions are produced where high-speed wind runs into slower plasma ahead. When the flow pattern emanating from the Sun is roughly time-stationary these compression regions form spirals in the solar equatorial plane that corotate with the Sun, hence the name corotating interaction regions, or CIRs. The leading edge of a CIR is a forward pressure wave that propagates into the slower plasma ahead, while the trailing edge is a reverse pressure wave that propagates back into the trailing high-speed flow. At large heliocentric distances the pressure waves bounding a CIR commonly steepen into forward and reverse shocks. Spatial variation in the solar wind outflow from the Sun is a consequence of the solar magnetic field, which modulates the coronal expansion. Because the magnetic equator of the Sun is commonly both warped and tilted with respect to the heliographic equator, CIRs commonly have substantial north-south tilts that are opposed in the northern and southern hemispheres. Thus, with increasing heliocentric distance the forward waves in both hemispheres propagate toward and eventually across the solar equatorial plane, while the reverse shocks propagate poleward to higher latitudes. This paper provides an overview of observations and numerical models that describe the physical origin and radial evolution of these complex three-dimensional (3-D) heliospheric structures. A theory for the origin of the slow solar wind is described. Recent papers have demonstrated that magnetic flux moves across
coronal holes as a result of the interplay between the differential rotation of the photosphere and the non-radial expansion
of the solar wind in more rigidly rotating coronal holes. This flux will be deposited at low latitudes and should reconnect
with closed magnetic loops, thereby releasing material from the loops to form the slow solar wind. It is pointed out that
this mechanism provides a natural explanation for the charge states of elements observed in the slow solar wind, and for the
presence of the First-Ionization Potential, or FIP, effect in the slow wind and its absence in fast wind. Comments are also
provided on the role that the ACE mission should have in understanding the slow solar wind.

In order to realize the operational and service cost savings through the use of rechargeable batteries, the dismounted soldier is burdened with the weight, volume and/or charging logistics of the batteries. By providing the soldier with a high energy density source and a lightweight compact battery charger, the burden imposed by rechargeable batteries in the forward field can be minimized.
