A computer aided extraction of land-use information from LANDSAT image data, gathered on 9 August 1975, was conducted. Specifically the study was designed to develop a method for supervised multispectral classification of LANDSAT data of a central European region and to verify the classification results on a pixel-by-pixel basis and by comparison of the land-use inventory with aerial photo interpretation in test areas. The method enables the integration and processing of additional data. For the test area Speyer in the Rhine valley with small size allotments and a variety of land-use it was found that the pixel-by-pixel comparison is rather difficult and has a high potential failure rate. Seven classes were considered. With the integration of subclasses to main classes higher classification accuracy can be reached.The highest classification accuracy could be obtained for agricultural land (97%); orchards, pasture (91%) and coniferous forest (84%) in the land-use inventory of Speyer.The study confirms that the degree of fit rises with the size of homogeneous land-use zones. The study results yield that for larger areas of homogeneous land-use in central Europe this method will reach acceptable classification accuracies for land-use inventories. The land-use information can be presented in colour coded thematic maps with the same scale and projection of existing maps.  相似文献

The ROSAT mission, which is currently being prepared in W.-Germany, will perform the first soft X-ray all-sky survey by means of a large imaging X-ray telescope. Detailed calculations under the cost, volume and mass constraint of the satellite being a Shuttle payload have led to a design of the imaging optics with optimized geometry. The mirror system is of the Wolter type I configuration and includes four nested shells with a maximum aperture of 835 mm and a focal length of 2400 mm. The on-axis angular resolution of the mirror assembly has been specified to 5 arcsec with a scattering level as low as 3% for single reflection at 1.5 keV photon energy. Construction and technology studies have been completed by now and manufacturing of the first mirror shell has begun.  相似文献

Aspects of high-power high-voltage power conditioner design and weight estimation relevant to space subsystems are discussed. Weight has become an increasingly important parameter with the advent of larger and more sophisticated spacecraft, especially those for high-power communication. A computer program for estimating the weight of a high-power dc-to-dc power conditioner as functions of output power, operating frequency, input voltage range, maximum input voltage, and efficiency, respectively, is described, including computer-aided design of inductors and transformers. Curves of typical power conditioner weight as functions of the preceding parameters, derived from the power conditioner weight program, are presented.  相似文献

Fourier spectrometers for the investigation of infrared spectra of Venus were installed on the recent Soviet orbiters “Venera-15” and “Venera-16”. Many spectra with reliable absolute calibration were obtained in the 280–1500 cm?1 region with a spectral resolution of 5 cm?1 (ground based processing) and about 7 cm?1 (preoprocessed on board) and a spatial resolution of about 100 km at the Venusian cloud top level. Bands of CO2, H2O, H2SO4 and SO2 are identified. The 15 μm-CO2- fundamental band was used for retrieval of altitude dependent temperature profiles. There are significant differences in the cloud structure above 60 km for distinct regions of Venus, demonstrated by differences in the spectra.  相似文献

High correlation between microwave bursts and Hα flares has already been reported. However, Solar Maximum Year cooperation made it possible to do simultaneous observations of selected active regions with good spatial resolution. In this paper the results of the direct comparison of solar microwave recordings at the Metsähovi Radio Research Station and Hα films at the Hvar Observatory are reported. This comparison reveals that the correlation of microwave gradual rise and fall (GRF) events (time scale tens of minutes) with Hα flares is practically 100 percent. On the other hand the correlation of the impulsive microwave bursts (time scale tens of seconds) with Hα flares is low. From this it can be concluded that the main contribution to the microwave GRF bursts comes from thermal radiation.  相似文献

The high FeO concentrations measured by VIKING for the Martian soils correspond to all probability to a FeO-rich mantle. In general, the VIKING XRF-data indicate a mafic crust with a considerably smaller degree of fractionation compared to the terrestrial crust.In recent years evidence has been collected which points towards Mars being the parent body of SNC-meteorites and, hence, these meteorites have become a valuable source of information about the chemistry of Mars. Using element correlations observed in SNC-meteorites and general cosmochemical constraints, it is possible to estimated the bulk composition of Mars. Normalized to Si and Cl, the mean abundance value for the elements Ga, Fe, Na, P, K, F, and Rb in the Martian mantle is found to be 0.35 and thus exceeds the terrestrial value by about a factor of two. Aside pressure effects and the H2O poverty, the high P and K content of the Martian mantle may lead to magmatic processes different from those on Earth.The composition of the Earth's mantle can successfully be described by a two component model. Component A: highly reduced and almost free of all elements more volatile than Na; component B: oxidized and containing all elements in Cl-abundances including volatile elements. The same two components can be used as building blocks for Mars, if one assumes that, contrary to the inhomogeneous accretion of the Earth, Mars accreted almost homogeneously. The striking depletion of all elements with chalcophile character indicates that chemical equilibrium between component A and B was achieved on Mars which lead to the formation of significant amounts of FeS which, on segregation, extracted the elements according to their sulphide-silicate partition coefficients. While for the Earth a mixing ratio AB = 8515 was derived, the Mars ratio of 6040 reflects the higher concentrations of moderately volatile elements like Na, K, and sulphur on Mars. A homogeneous accretion of Mars could also explain the obvious low abundances of water and primordial rare gases.  相似文献

The International Rosetta Mission is set for a rendezvous with Comet 67 P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko in 2014. On its 10 year journey to the comet, the spacecraft will also perform a fly-by of the two asteroids Stein and Lutetia in 2008 and 2010, respectively. The mission goal is to study the origin of comets, the relationship between cometary and interstellar material and its implications with regard to the origin of the Solar System. Measurements will be performed that shed light into the development of cometary activity and the processes in the surface layer of the nucleus and the inner coma. The Micro-Imaging Dust Analysis System (MIDAS) instrument is an essential element of Rosetta’s scientific payload. It will provide 3D images and statistical parameters of pristine cometary particles in the nm-μm range from Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. According to cometary dust models and experience gained from the Giotto and Vega missions to 1P/Halley, there appears to be an abundance of particles in this size range, which also covers the building blocks of pristine interplanetary dust particles. The dust collector of MIDAS will point at the comet and collect particles drifting outwards from the nucleus surface. MIDAS is based on an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), a type of scanning microprobe able to image small structures in 3D. AFM images provide morphological and statistical information on the dust population, including texture, shape, size and flux. Although the AFM uses proven laboratory technology, MIDAS is its first such application in space. This paper describes the scientific objectives and background, the technical implementation and the capabilities of MIDAS as they stand after the commissioning of the flight instrument, and the implications for cometary measurements.  相似文献
