2002年度中国空气动力学研究进展报告

Chinese Aerodynamics Research Society has been motivated by the mission statement "Academic Innovation, Economical Provision, Personnel Education, Science and Technology Popularization" and by the suggestion of "To be Creative, Competitive, Cohesive, Autonomous", which were raised by Professor Zhang Hanxin, the board chairman of Chinese Aerodynamics Research Society in the Forth National Convention of the society. Under the leadership of the participating organizations of the society, through the diligent work of numerous scientists and technicians, Chinese Aerodynamics Research Society has made significant progress and obtained important research achievements in the fields of theoretical analysis, experimental research, computational fluid mechanics, development of the experimental facilities and equipments system, and the engineering application of aerodynamics in the year 2002. Such progress has established a solid foundation for the breakthrough in the aerodynamic research in the near future and for making the aerodynamic technologies the critical element in the national economy and defense in China.     

Distribution of velocities of potentially hazardous objects

Velocities of potentially hazardous objects (asteroids and comets) approaching the Earth are studied. It is shown that for an overwhelming majority of objects the velocity of approach does not exceed 40 km/s. The acceptability of this estimate for design and manufacturing of instruments for detecting hazardous celestial bodies is discussed.     

Viscous Crossflow Around a Rotating Circular Cylinder

Unsteady viscous crossflow around a rotating circular cylinder is studied in the laminar and turbulent flow regimes. The dependences of drag and lift coefficients of the cylinder on the rotation speed are obtained.     

A Computational Technique for Estimating the Nitrogen Oxide Concentration in Combustion of Air-Fuel Mixture Enriched with Hydrogen in Exhaust Gases of Spark-Ignition Engines

A dimensionless system K was obtained to determine the concentration of nitric oxide in the addition of hydrogen to the air-fuel mixture by calculation. The model obtained was tested on the VAZ-1118 engine.     

Seadrome: Technologies of Complex Navigation for Amphibious Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the Seaplane Basin

The paper considers the physical principles of operation, performance and structural diagram of the short base sonar navigation system installed aboard an amphibious unmanned aerial vehicle. This system provides the required course piloting in the seaplane basin that is assigned by the network system of bottom transmitter-receiver antenna assemblies.     

Sensitivity Algorithm as a Solution of an Inverse Strength Problem Applied to Thin-Walled Structures

The problem of identifying rigidities in stiffeners of a four-stiffener torsion box operating in tension–compression under the action of an external load is considered. An iterative approach is proposed using a sensitivity function and a sensitivity matrix.
