This paper is devoted to the detection performance evaluation of the mean-level (ML) constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) detectors processing M-correlated sweeps in the presence of interfering targets. The consecutive pulses are assumed to be fluctuating according to the Swerling I model. Exact expressions are derived for the detection probability of the conventional mean-level detector (MLD) and its modified versions under Rayleigh fluctuating target model. Performance for independent sweeps can be easily obtained by setting the sweep-to-sweep correlation coefficient equal to zero. Results are obtained for both homogeneous and nonhomogeneous background environments. It is shown that for fixed M, the relative improvement over the single sweep case increases as the correlation between sweeps decreases. For the same parameter values, the minimum MLD has the best performance in the presence of extraneous target returns among the reference noise samples  相似文献

This paper presents a theory for computing the signal acquisition time of a second-order tracing system operating in the frequency-search mode. In particular, a closed-form expression is obtained which relates the acquisition time to the relevant system parameters, to the initial loop detuning, and to the slope of the ramp that sweeps the voltage-controlled oscillator. Although the theory is only approximate and the resulting formula is exact only in the limit when the initial loop detuning ?F goes to infinity, it has been found that it gives quite accurate results as soon as ?F is some times greater than the equivalent noise bandwidth of the loop.  相似文献

A three-state Kalman tracker is described for tracking a moving target, such as an aircraft, making use of the position and rate measurements obtained by a track-white-scan radar sensor which employs pulsed Doppler processing, such as the moving target detector providing unambiguous Doppler data. The steady-state filter parameters have been analytically obtained under the assumption of white noise maneuver capability. The numerical computations of these parameters are in excellent agreement with those obtained from the recursive Kalman filter matrix equations. The solution for the case when only the range measurements are available is obtained as a special case of this model. Graphs of normalized covariances and gains are presented to illustrate how the solution depends on different parameters  相似文献

A comparison of the false alarm rates and false alarm numbers for discrete and continuous time sampling is given for different noise spectrums (rectangular, Hamming, Gaussian, and cosine noise voltage spectrums) and for different sampling rates for the case of discrete time sampling. Also given is the increase in the false alarm rate when going from discrete to continuous time sampling when the detection threshold is held fixed. The amount that the threshold has to be increased for continuous sampling to achieve the same false alarm rate obtained with discrete time sampling is also given.  相似文献

Numerical studies were performed to investigate the mechanism and potential of several active rotors for reducing low-frequency in-plane thickness noise generated by rotating blades. A numerical method coupling the blade element theory, prescribed wake model and Fowcs Williams-Hawkings(FW-H) equation was established for rotor noise prediction. Criteria for estimating the number of signals in the case of small-sample populations are considered. The criteria introduced by M. Wax and T. Kailath (1985) do not work well in this case. Two new criteria based on information theoretic and eigenmode composition-based criteria are proposed, assuming a known noise covariance. Simulation results show a significant improvement in the performance of estimating the number of signals in the small-sample case, by the use of the new criteria combined with an estimate of the noise covariance obtained from reference noise samples  相似文献

本文简述了一种直升机旋翼与大气湍流入流相干扰产生的噪声预估方法。这一方法考虑了桨叶上非定常载荷的弦向及展向非紧致性,桨叶-桨叶载荷之间的相关,通过结合大气湍流能量谱模型与快速畸变湍流收缩模型来确定旋翼平面处非均匀、各向异性湍流场的特性,使得这种方法可用于直升机在真实飞行状态下的旋翼与湍流场干扰噪声计算。利用文献中模型旋翼试验的结果,验证了本方法的可行性,并计算了某型直升机在六种飞行状态下的流场畸变情况及旋翼与湍流干扰的远场噪声谱,结果表明:在准悬停及低速爬升状态,湍流场的畸变较大,而在中、快速前飞状态,湍流场的畸变最小,在低速爬升状态,线性总声压级最小。  相似文献

A sidelobe canceller (SLC) can be efficiently employed to reduce the undesirable effects of jammers on a search radar system. In this paper a functional block circuit is described for a single-sidelobe canceller (SSLC) apt to a single Jammer suppression; a detailed analysis is also presented. It is shown that the theory of stochastic differential equations and the covariance analysis describing function (CADET) technique can be used to evaluate the SSLC performances when two Gaussian colored and mutually correlated input processes are considered. The statistical properties of the weight can be obtained. The last results, which are very important in the case of nonstationary jammers, cannot be obtained without this theory. System implications can be drawn from the abovementioned analysis when the input process consists of one jammer or two jammers and/or thermal noise.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the signal distortion which results when long, series-fed arrays are used for communication. It is shown that under certain conditions the antenna array can be considered a linear filter, the response of which is a function of frequency as well as spatial coordinates. The distortion accompanying the transmission as measured by the least mean-square difference between the transmitted and the received signals is derived. This expression is evaluated for the case of a uniformly excited array and a rectangular band-pass signal spectrum. In the absence of noise the transmitted signal can be completely recovered in the receiver by employing the proper linear filter. In the presence of noise the signal cannot, of course, be completely recovered. However, a technique for minimizing the distortion, in this case using a pre-filter and a post-filter, is investigated.  相似文献

A recommended form of the signal-to-noise equation that includes both internal and external system noise and signal/noise processing losses is discussed. The recommended form conforms to the internationally accepted definition of system operating noise factor but is extended to include signal/noise processing. The predetection signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a radar or communication system is proportional to the power gain of the transmit antenna and the directive gain of the receive antenna, and is inversely proportional to the operating noise factor of the receiving system. The operating noise factor is approximately equal to the product of the external noise factor and the signal/noise processing factor when the system is external noise limited, as is usually the case for over-the-horizon (OTH) radar.<>  相似文献

针对机载导航过程中有色噪声模型系数难以精确获取的问题,提出了一种基于滤波残差处理有色噪声的方法,并将其应用到INS/GPS组合导航系统中。首先分析了有色状态噪声和有色量测噪声对状态参数估值的影响,接着分别将状态残差和量测残差作为有色状态噪声和有色量测噪声的样本观测值,通过滤波所得的多个历元的残差序列获取拟合模型参数,然后计算有色噪声的预报值并将其进行补偿,从而得到有色噪声修正后的组合导航模型。最后设计了转台试验验证提出的有色噪声作用下的INS/GPS组合导航方法,结果表明该方法能有效地减小有色噪声对组合系统的影响,且当GPS暂时失效时,能显著提高系统的导航精度。  相似文献

Nonparametric Radar Extraction Using a Generalized Sign Test   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A nonparametric procedure used in a constant false alarm rate (CFAR) radar extractor for detecting targets in a background of noise with unknown statistical properties is described. The detector is based on a generalization of the well-known two-sample sign test and thus requires a set of reference noise observations in addition to the set of observations being tested for signal presence. The detection performance against Gaussian noise is determined for a finite number of observations and asymptotically, for both nonfluctuating and pulse-to-pulse Rayleigh fluctuating target statistics. It is noted that the performance loss, as compared to the optimum parametric detector, depends critically on the number of reference noise observations available when the number of hits per target is not large. In the same case a much larger loss is also found for a pulse-to-pulse fluctuating target even though the asymptotic loss is the same as for a nonfluctuating target. A comparison is finally made with a detector based on the Mann-Whitney test, which usually is considered to be one of the better nonparametric procedures for the two-sample case.  相似文献

The performance of a uniformly spaced phased-steered line array with element channel superlimiting is studied for far-field sources consisting of 1) two sinusoidal signals with different frequencies and angular locations, and 2) a sinusoid and a noise signal at different angular locations. Attention is focused on the nonlinear case where internal noise is negligible compared to both input signals. The analysis for the two-sinusoid case gives the precise frequencies, positions, and amplitudes of all apparent sources. In addition to the two active sources, the array output has an array of images arranged symmetrically in sine space about the larger input, at intervals equal to the spacing between the two active sources. For the case of a separated sinusoid and a noise source, the analysis shows that the angular positions and average powers of the array outputs duplicate the double-sinusoid results, but the images have noise-like spectra. The analyses are confirmed by experimental results obtained with a 60-element superlimiting X-band array.  相似文献

A detailed analytical study is made of the effect of FM noise on a laser carrier frequency which is used in a Doppler radar. Both long-term drift and short-term FM noise are considered. The case of high modulation index of the noise is permitted by the theory. Forward as well as slanted beams are examined. Curves have been calculated for each case to allow rapid estimates of the bandwidth requirements to accomodate the laser noise. This, in turn, will give the resolution limit of the radar caused by that noise. A summary of the results is given.  相似文献

New analytical solutions of steady-state Kalman gains are presented for a discrete-time tracking filter with correlation in both the measurement noise and the target maneuver. The measurement noise model is a first-order discrete Markov process characterized by a correlation coefficient ρ. The target motion is examined for an exponentially correlated acceleration maneuver type in which the vehicle oscillation such as wind-induced-bending is also considered. The present solution method is based on factorizing the observed spectral density matrix Ψ(z) in frequency domain. The algorithm proposed here gives the Kalman gain matrix directly. The output of a realizable balanced frequency discriminator is calculated for an input consisting of a sine wave plus Gaussian noise. Explicit autocorrelation and power spectra are found for one practical embodiment of the discriminator for various input carrier-to-noise ratios, with the carrier tuned to center frequency and also off-center. The formulas also permit the calculation of the output for the case of a spectrum of noise slowly swept through the discriminator. Although qualitatively similar to results previously obtained with an ideal discriminator, substantial differences are also found. Measurements are made that closely verified the theoretical results. In automatic radar detection, digital integration of the envelope detector outputs is often used as a good approximation to the optimum. This requires quantizing the envelope detector outputs. In this paper, quantizer structures for narrowband signal detection are considered. Quantizer characteristics are derived to optimize performance as measured by the detector efficacy?an asymptotic performance measure. Asymptotic and finite sample performance results are presented. The results obtained are not limited in their application to Gaussian noise only, although this important case is given specific consideration.  相似文献

The problem of measuring a constant phase difference between two sinusoids which have been corrupted by two additive noise processes is investigated. For the case in which both noise processes are Gaussian and the signal-to-noise ratio is high, the variance of the time-averaged phase-difference estimate is found as a single integral over the noise power spectral densities and cross spectral density. Arbitrary cross correlation is allowed between the two noise processes. Two cases of practical interest are considered: 1) the noise processes have identical, rectangular power spectral densities and are statistically independent; 2) an idealized radio direction finding situation in which two spatially separated sensors are immersed in an isotropic, planar noise field. For the statistically independent case, a universal curve is presented which permits determination of phase-estimate standard deviation for arbitrary signal-to-noise ratio and for a wide range of bandwidths and integration times.  相似文献

 现代定位系统中,传感器往往被安放在运动平台上,其位置无法精确得知,存在估计误差,将严重影响对目标的定位精度。针对这一问题,提出基于约束总体最小二乘(CTLS)的到达时差(TDOA)定位算法。首先通过引入中间变量,将非线性TDOA定位方程转化为伪线性方程,再利用CTLS技术,全面考虑伪线性方程所有系数中的噪声。在此基础上推导了定位方程的目标函数,再根据牛顿迭代方法,进行数值迭代,快速得到精确解。采用一阶小噪声扰动分析方法,对该算法的理论性能进行了分析,证明了算法的无偏性和逼近克拉美-罗下限(CRLB)。仿真实验表明,该算法克服了现有总体最小二乘(TLS)算法不能达到CRLB、两步加权最小二乘(two-step WLS)算法在较高噪声时性能发散的缺陷,在较高噪声时定位精度仍然能达到CRLB。  相似文献

Adaptive array receiving antennas can be designed to sense the external noise field and to optimize the array illumination function. A substantial improvement in signal-to-noise ratio can be obtained with adaptive arrays when the external noise field is nonuniformly distributed in angle. The external noise process may be time varying and contain both discrete sources and continuously distributed sources. Two adaptive array implementations which maximize the signal-to-noise ratio are described in this paper. Expressions are derived for control-loop noise, i.e., the variance of the array element weights, and for the additional noise in the array output due to this element weight noise. It is shown that both the element weight noise and the array convergence rate are determined by the eigenvalues of the noise covariance matrix.  相似文献
