The CDS and SUMER instruments will make extensive use of spectroscopic diagnostics to determine the physical parameters of the solar transition region and corona. A great deal of effort is going into the development of these techniques to ensure that they are accurate. This requires interfacing solar analysis programs with the best available atomic data calculations. Recent developments in this work will be presented, with specific examples of useful spectral line ratios.  相似文献

The EUV wavelength regions is rich in emission lines from the transition region and the corona. Spectroscopic techniques have been used extensively to determine the physical conditions in the solar atmosphere for such diverse phenomena as coronal holes, active regions, sunspots, flares, etc. The diagnostics and dynamics of plasmas, both homogeneous and inhomogeneous plasmas, are reviewed. The future projects such as the CDS and SUMER instruments on SOHO have been discussed as they cover EUV wavelength region and will provide a wealth of observational data with excellent spatial, spectral, and temporal resolution.  相似文献

Observations of emission lines in the vacuum-ultraviolet spectral range with calibrated instrumentation provide crucial information on the prevailing plasma temperatures in the solar atmosphere. Coronal-hole temperatures measured by the SUMER spectrometer on SOHO will be presented in this contribution. Electron temperatures can be estimated from the formation temperatures of the observed emission lines. Line-ratio and emission-measure analyses, however, offer higher accuracies. Typical electron temperatures at altitudes of H<200?Mm in coronal holes are below 1?MK in bright structures—the coronal plumes—with higher values in darker areas—the inter-plume regions. Line-width measurements yield effective ion temperatures, which are much higher than the electron temperatures. Observations of line profiles emitted from species with different masses allow a separation of the effective temperatures into ion temperatures and unresolved non-thermal motions along the line of sight.  相似文献

Polar coronal holes represent the most convincing site from which the high-speed solar wind originates. Here we report high-accuracy Doppler shifts measured in the O VI (1037.6 Å) line obtained by SUMER on SOHO inside an interplume region within the south polar coronal hole. Spectra of the northern polar coronal hole measured with the SUMER spectrometer on SOHO on 25 October 1996 are analyzed. We present spectra taken at locations on the solar disk where part of the spectrometer slit intersects a polar coronal hole region and an area of brighter emission from outside of the coronal hole area. By comparing the line intensities between the parts of the spectrum taken inside the "dark" area of the coronal holes and the brighter regions, we work out the signatures of the specific coronal hole in the chromosphere, transition region and lower corona. We find that emissions of neutral atom lines, of which there are many in the spectrum of SUMER, show no difference between the coronal hole and the bright boundary areas, whereas all ionized species show strong intensity enhancements, including the continuum emissions of carbon and hydrogen. These enhancements are larger than in normal quiet Sun areas. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The heating of the solar atmosphere is a fundamental problem of modern solar and astrophysics. A review of the seismological aspects of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves with an emphasis on standing longitudinal waves in the context of coronal heating is presented. Efforts made recently may be split into two categories: forward modelling and data inversion. Forward modelling can be applied to predict the observational footprints of various heating scenarios. A new diagnostic method based on the analysis of Doppler shift time series is outlined with specific application to solar coronal conditions. The power of the method is demonstrated and tested using synthetic data and comparing them with actual high-resolution (e.g. SoHO/SUMER) observations. Further, related recent examples of standing longitudinal oscillations in coronal loop structures observed with the new Hinode/EIS instrument are also presented. These latter observations provide an advanced ground for MHD seismology as a tool for plasma heating diagnostics in the atmosphere of the Sun.  相似文献

There is observational evidence for an extreme fine structure in the solar transition region, much smaller than 1 in size (Dereet al., 1987, 1988) Corresponding to this extreme fine structure there appear to be an equally complex dynamical structure. We review the evidence for such dynamical extreme fine structure as demonstrated by the frequent appearance of multiple velocities, i.e. distinctly different velocities in the transition region occurring within the angular resolution element. Multiple velocities are prominent in active regions and particularly near sunspots, where velocity components may be supersonic. However, multiple velocities are frequent also in quiet regions. The consequences of such fine structure for modeling the transition region will be outlined. Finally the appropriate CDS and SUMER observations needed to extend our knowledge of a finely structured transition region and corona, spatially or in time, are discussed.  相似文献

民用飞机结构修理过程中有时会遇到超出手册范围的情况,在制定超手册结构修理方案的过程中,为了给维修工程人员提供相关的参考方案,本文开发一种基于Browser/Service(B/S)的民用飞机结构修理方案平台。首先从业务流程和平台功能角度对平台需求进行分析;然后基于平台开发所使用的各项技术,从平台架构、数据库、平台功能模块三方面对平台设计进行详细分析;最后通过实际操作演示,对平台的主要功能模块进行测试。结果表明:该平台人机界面友好、扩展性良好、操作简单方便,实现了民用飞机结构飞机损伤信息和修理方案电子化,能够根据损伤信息自动推荐出数据库中存储的若干修理方案,为维修工程部门更快制定超手册修理方案提供支持。  相似文献

We present a preliminary analysis of two quiet Sun transition region areas observed with the SOHO/SUMER spectrometer, using lines from oxygen, nitrogen and silicon. The average quiet Sun physical parameters are studied as a function of line intensity. Systematic variations of line position and width with increasing intensity are found. A large number of small-scale active points have been observed, and preliminary analysis of the physical properties and dynamics of these active features is presented. A jet-like structure, found in an active point, is also investigated and its velocity along the line of sight determined. 针对大数据排序算法的需求,提出了基于任务驱动的并行排序算法。该算法采用任务驱动、AIO(Asynchronous Input/Output,异步输入/输出)和双缓冲区机制等技术充分利用系统资源;通过构造等价排序键,优化快速排序算法;并在算法实现上,采用多线程处理任务,通过控制线程个数控制并行度。综合利用这些技术,该算法使得大数据的排序性能接近理论极限值,在CPU(Central Processing Unit,中央处理器)资源充裕的情况下,利用异步压缩技术,还可以突破这一极限,最终实现的系统2 000s就可以对超过500Gbyte的磁盘数据做一次完整的排序。在数据库设计中充分利用此思想,将会实现连接和线程的分离,数据库将可以支持更大的连接数,从而提高数据库支持的并发度。  相似文献

Two studies performed with SUMER (the Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation spectrometer on SOHO) in September 1996 are presented. Spatial scans, a long exposure time and a broad spectral window provide reliable line profiles for various regions of the Sun (off-limb corona, coronal hole, quiet Sun, bright and dark regions on disk) and for different formation temperatures (Si II, 14 000 K; C IV, 100 000 K; Ne VIII, 630 000 K). Line intensity, position and width distributions are presented together with the line positions relative to the wavelength seen above the limb. We describe the properties of high velocity events in the corona and upper transition region and propose that they are the same phenomenon as the well studied explosive events seen in the lower transition region around T=105 K. Furthermore, we discuss how the SOHO spectrometers, CDS and SUMER, may be used to check this conjecture. Magnetic reconnection has been considered a strong candidate for the physical mechanism causing explosive events. We present a phenomenological model showing how some of the observed properties of explosive events may be explained by reconnection occurring in small magnetic loops.  相似文献

The solar upper atmosphere (SUA) is defined as the volume above the photosphere occupied by plasmas with electron temperatures, T e, above 2×104 K. Until the Skylab era, only little was known about the morphology of the SUA, while the quality of the spectroscopic observations was continually improving. A spherically symmetric atmosphere was assumed at that time, in which the temperature increased with height. With advances in the observational techniques, it became apparent that the morphology of the SUA was very complex even during the minimum of the magnetic activity cycle. In particular, spectroscopic measurements with high spectral and spatial resolution, which were made in the light of ultraviolet emission lines representing a variety of temperatures, led to the conclusion that most of the radiation from the solar transition region could not be explained by assuming a continuous chromosphere-corona interface, but rather by a region of unresolved fine structures. Recent observational results obtained by modern instruments, such as the Extreme-ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (EIT), the Large Angle Spectroscopic Coronagraph (LASCO), and the Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of (SUMER) spectrograph on the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), as well as the Transition Region and Coronal Explorer (TRACE), and their interpretations will be presented in this review of our understanding of the morphology of the SUA.  相似文献
