Methods of clutter rejection are discussed which furnish an inherent counterpart of target tracking and detection algorithms. We describe how nonparametric curve estimation methods reduce the original sensor data to a “signal-plus-noise” model which is well suited for various hypotheses testing and dynamical filtering algorithms. Among the few known adaptive filtering algorithms which have an embedded (integrated) constant false alarm rate (CFAR) performance feature, the generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) test algorithm has been found to be robust in non-Gaussian clutter. This paper examines the detection performance of the GLR algorithm in nonhomogeneous/nonstationary clutter environments which lead to nonidentical distribution of secondary (training) data. For two common types of nonhomogeneity, i.e., the so-called “signal contamination” and “clutter edge”, the asymptotic detection performance is derived and compared with simulations. These asymptotic results are relatively simple to use and they predict the GLR performance in nonhomogeneous environments quite well. The GLR performance loss due to the nonhomogeneity is also evaluated. It is found that the “generalized angle” between the desired and contaminating signal plays an important role in the study of the effects of signal contamination. It is also found that the performance degradation due to the clutter edge depends largely on the width of the clutter spectrum and target-clutter Doppler separation  相似文献

This paper considers the use of “stochastically constrained” spatial and spatio-temporal adaptive processing in multimode nonstationary interference (“hot clutter”) mitigation for scenarios that do not allow access to a group of range cells that are free from the backscattered sea/terrain signal (“cold clutter”). Since supervised training methods for interference covariance matrix estimation using the cold-clutter-free ranges are inappropriate in this case, we introduce and analyze adaptive routines which can operate on range cells containing a mixture of hot and cold clutter and possible targets (unsupervised training samples). Theoretical and simulation results are complemented by surface-wave over-the-horizon data processing, recently collected during experimental trials in northern Australia  相似文献

The two well known rules of physics are: “The laws of interaction between solid bodies”, or Newton's Laws; and Maxwell's laws discovered in the 19th century on the laws of electromagnetic radiation, particularly its constant speed of propagation, “c”, in a vacuum. The Parker effect describes the correlation between these two rules and is at the heart of a new navigational technology called NIRPS. The Navigational Independent Relative Positioning System (NIRPS) uses the relation between an inertial medium (its own body) and a non-inertial medium (light) to provide information on the velocity (speed and direction) with which it is travelling in three-dimensional space. When the system is set in motion, the contrasts in the properties of the media result in an apparent deflection of the light. At the core of NIRPS is an a opto-electronic device called a “velometer”. The velometer measures the magnitude and angle of the Parker effect, which directly represent the speed and direction, or velocity, of the system in space. Much of what we see in the consumer electronics stores will eventually find its way into airplanes in the form of In-Flight Entertainment (IFE). This consumer electronic equipment is often referred to as “the leading edge of technology”. Unfortunately, that same equipment that is the “leading edge” of consumer electronics, often stalls to feel like the “bleeding edge” when you try to integrate it into IFE systems for today's modern aircraft. Unlike Avionics Systems, the technologies behind IFE equipment are not usually mature before they are integrated into the aircraft. What may work well in a home environment, may not work well at all in the aircraft environment. Often this problem results in last minute redesign in an effort to make the equipment function as intended on the aircraft. Both the FAA and the aircraft manufacturer impose many requirements on the suppliers and products of IFE. Systems need to be designed for the aircraft environment. Many variations on IFE Systems have forced the creation of new standards for integration into commercial aircraft. Power, cooling, and EMC issues are becoming more of a concern as we move to fill aircraft implementations. Beyond the technical evaluations and lab/aircraft testing, one key component is customer satisfaction. This paper is concerned with issues and techniques associated with the development of both optimal and adaptive (data dependent) reduced-rank signal processing architectures. Adaptive algorithms for 1D beamforming, 2D space-time adaptive processing (STAP), and 3D STAP for joint hot and cold clutter mitigation are surveyed. The following concepts are then introduced for the first time (other than workshop and conference records) and evaluated in a signal-dependent versus signal independent context: (1) the adaptive processing “region-of-convergence” as a function of sample support and rank, (2) a new variant of the cross-spectral metric (CSM) that retains dominant mode estimation in the direct-form processor (DFP) structure, and (3) the robustness of the proposed methods to the subspace “leakage” problem arising in many real-world applications. A comprehensive performance comparison is conducted both analytically and via Monte Carlo simulation which clearly demonstrates the superior theoretical compression performance of signal-dependent rank-reduction, its broader region-of-convergence, and its inherent robustness to subspace leakage  相似文献

 基于三维裂纹特征,本文提出了一种测量孔边角裂纹近门槛区疲劳裂纹扩展速率及门槛值的实验方法。为了得到真实的裂纹形状变化规律,首先针对具体试样用勾线方法建立其“b-a”标定曲线。参照门槛值的标准测试方法,本文仅需测量“a”方向裂纹尺寸,然后用标定曲线换算共相应的“b”方向尺寸。这样我们就可以得到关于“a”和“b”的两组数据,而这两个方向代表孔边角裂纹特征方向。通过分别对30CrMaSiNi2A和2024T3材料的实测研究,证明本文提出的测试方法是可行的。在实验数据基础上,进行了结果的统计对比,得出:1.“a”和“b”方向的近门槛区疲劳裂纹扩展速率及门槛值基本一致;2.孔径大小对实验结果没有影响。;3.同样厚度情况下,孔边角裂纹试样的近门槛区疲劳裂纹扩展速率编高,而门槛值相应较小。  相似文献

We consider a new scheme for distributed detection based on a “censoring” or “send/no-send” idea. The sensors are assumed to “censor” their observations so that each sensor sends to the fusion center only “informative” observations, and leaves those deemed “uninformative” untransmitted. The main result of this work is that with conditionally independent sensor data and under a communication rate constraint, in order to minimize the probability of error, transmission should occur if and only if the local likelihood ratio value observed by the sensor does not fall in a certain single interval. Similar results are derived from Neymarr-Pearson and distance-measure viewpoints. We also discuss simplifications for the most interesting case that the fusion center threshold is high and the communication constraint is severe. We compare censoring with the more common binary-transmission framework and observe its considerable decrease in communication needs. Finally, we explore the use of feedback to achieve optimal performance with very little communication  相似文献

The most recent developments in the Boeing Aerospace Autonomous Power System (APS) testbed are presented. The APS testbed is a 28-VDC system with 3-kW capability, assembled for use in developing improved control, techniques for aerospace electrical power systems. The main emphasis is on the development of a sophisticated programming environment to control concurrent execution of multiple autonomous algorithms coupled with a continuous input/output data flow. The integration of high-level control algorithms used for battery charge control into a real-time execution environment is discussed. This includes methods that allow several functions to respond to real-time input, affect/maintain expert system (shared) memory, and control the electrical power system configuration. Sophisticated schemes for scheduling these expert system control functions are required to allow real-time multitasking  相似文献

The regulated industries, which in the FDA's (US Food and Drug Administration) case include the manufacturers of food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, are responsible for selecting and justifying the selection and use of appropriate national and/or international consensus standards. This paper documents the results of a scientific inquiry which was undertaken to develop a methodology to evaluate and select individual standards as well as compatible sets of standards. Initially the scope was limited to software safety and reliability standards. Since then it has been expanded to other areas. It was found that six categories of criteria are important when evaluating the potential use of software safety standards: General Factors, Product Characterization, Process Characterization, Personnel Characterization, Risk Management, and Overall Standards Framework. The criteria in each of the six categories must be addressed, How they are addressed is both a technical and a policy decision. The goal should not be to try to find the “ultimate” standard because there isn't any. Rather the goal should be to select a balanced “diet” of standards based on these six categories. A probability density function (pdf) based approach to the multitarget tracking problem is presented. The input data are obtained by measurements over time from a front-end detector. The desired output is the number of targets present and the parameters of each target. Operational deficiencies exist in the current ability to perform high resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) targeting for precision strike missions in difficult electronic countermeasure (ECM) and anti-aircraft environments. Increasingly sophisticated enemy defenses require that fire control information be derived from highly maneuverable aircraft trajectories rather than traditional straight-and-level flight. In addition, target area aspect information is needed to determine optimal attack approaches. These imaging and targeting conditions impose severe performance requirements on the sensor aircraft motion compensation system (MCS), and dictate the need for sophisticated algorithms to counteract ECM threats. 在风洞试验中,马赫数的稳定性和快速性对风洞流场品质有着重要影响。为了实现马赫数的精确控制,必须对马赫数进行快速、准确的预测。风洞试验积累了大量数据,大数据集包含了更多的有益信息,为实现马赫数的精确预测提拱了可能性,但也增加了建模的复杂度。通常高度复杂的模型会加重其在实际使用时的计算负担。针对大数据集问题,本文将随机森林方法应用于风洞马赫数建模。随机森林是一种集成模型建模方法,它从3方面降低模型的复杂度:产生多个样本子集,减少了子模型的训练样本个数;具有并行集成结构,子模型可在不同的CPU上运行,提高了运行速度;以简单学习算法回归树作为基学习机,降低了子模型的复杂度。试验证明基于随机森林的马赫数预测模型能够有效利用试验积累的大数据,满足工程上预测速度及精度的要求。  相似文献

In this paper we present a new technique for data association using multiassignment for tracking a large number of closely spaced (and overlapping) objects. The algorithm is illustrated on a biomedical problem, namely the tracking of a group of fibroblast (tissue) cells from an image sequence, which motivated this work. Because of their proximity to one another and due to the difficulties in segmenting the images accurately from a poor-quality image sequence, the cells are effectively closely spaced objects (CSOs). The algorithm presents a novel dichotomous, iterated approach to multiassignment using successive one-to-one assignments of decreasing size with modified costs. The cost functions, which are adjusted depending on the “depth” of the current assignment level and on the tracking results, are derived. The resulting assignments are used to form, maintain and terminate tracks with a modified version of the probabilistic data association (PDA) filter, which can handle the contention for a single measurement among multiple tracks in addition to the association of multiple measurements to a single track. Estimation results are given and compared with those of the standard 2D one-to-one assignment algorithm. It is shown that iterated multiassignment results in superior measurement-to-track association. 针对航空发动机传感器信号重构,提出了评价核极限学习机(K ELM)模型性能的一种快速留一交叉验证方法.结果表明:该方法可以避免原始的留一验证方法N次模型的显式训练,将计算复杂度降低为原来的1/N(N为样本数目).该算法可以快速准确评价核极限学习机的性能,为核极限学习机确定最优的核参数.   相似文献
