An analysis is presented for the transfer functions of a particular pulsewidth modulator and power-stage subsystem that has been widely used in practical switching-mode dc regulator systems. The switch and filter are in a ?buck? configuration, and the switch is driven by a constant-frequency, variable duty-ratio, push-pull magnetic modulator employing square-loop cores. The two transfer functions considered are that with modulator control signal as input and that with line voltage as input. For ac signal,the corresponding describing functions (DF) are derived. It is shown thatcurrent-source drive to the modulator extends the control DF frequency response over that with voltage drive, and that complete cancellation of the effects of line variations can be obtained at dc, but not for ac. Experimental confirmation of the analytical results for the control DF are presented.  相似文献

The effect of hard limiting an angle-modulated signal plus narrow-band Gaussian noise is analyzed. Several examples are considered?sinusoidal angle modulation, Gaussian angle modulation, and biphase angle modulation. The general conclusion is that when a zonal band-pass filter is used, which rejects dc and second harmonics, an angle-modulated signal plus Gaussian noise provides the same output signal-to-noise ratio as shown by Davenport for a CW signal plus Gaussian noise. However, when a narrow bandpass filter is used, which has a bandwidth approximately equal to the input angle-modulated signal, an angle-modulated signal plus Gaussian noise has a better output signal-to-noise ratio than a CW signal plus Gaussian noise.  相似文献

Existing digital quadrature demodulation techniques sample the input at either 2B Hz or 4B Hz, select the even samples as the in-phase (I), and interpolate the odd samples to give the quadrature (Q), output. The signal bandwidth is B. We propose a demodulation system to produce I and Q samples at arbitrary sampling rate greater than 2B Hz. The system eliminates the IF downconversion step with a special sampling scheme. The even samples correspond to the I component, while the Q components are the filtered output. The filter can be a lowpass or least squares (LS) filter. The lowpass filter design is based on trade-offs between the filter length and the degree of oversampling. It produces similar results as previous work when the sampling rate is 2B Hz or 4B Hz. Unlike existing methods which assume the input is white, a LS filter, on the other hand, can make use of input signal characteristics to achieve a better result. The higher the correlation in the input the larger the improvement. The cost for LS filtering is a coefficient update step if the input is time varying. A scheme to cancel dc offset from analog to digital (A/D) converters is also given  相似文献

A method is presented to calculate the output of a hard limiter if the input consists of a superposition of three phase-coded signals. A detailed investigation is made of the case where the limiter input signals are phase reversal modulated according to a maximum length linear code. It is shown in this case that a false target signal is generated at the limiter output. The amplitude distribution of the false target signal is investigated along with the distribution of the captured true target signals. A digital computer simulation confirms the theoretically predicted effects.  相似文献

An analysis is presented of the performance of a logarithmic detector or followed by a low-pass filter, under the assumption of a large ratio of IF bandwidth to postdetection bandwidth. This allows for the probability of detection and similar quantities to be computed in a straightforward manner. The mean and variance of the filter output are found by first deriving the autocorrelation function of the logarithmic detector output and then obtaining the power spectral ral density. A useful engineering approximation is made for the variance which is valid for all signal-to-noise ratios.  相似文献

The distortion of the FM-FM Saturn telemetry system for dc input (static error) has been the subject of many studies. The purpose of this correspondence is to measure the additional distortion (dynamic error) that results when the input signal is time-varying. This work describes the principle of operation, assembly and performance of one branch of the 44 GHz back end module (BEM) for the Planck low frequency instrument (LFI). This subsystem constitutes a fully representative branch of the qualification-model version (QM). It includes waveguide to microstrip transition, GaAs pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (PHEMT) low noise amplifiers (LNA), bandpass filter, square-law detector and dc amplifier. The fundamentals of the design of the RF part are described and all of the components have been tested individually before integration. Using single tone and wideband noise stimuli, the output voltage has been measured for several input powers, in order to obtain the sensitivity factor of the complete BEM. The effective bandwidth and the equivalent noise temperature have been calculated from the measurements, taking into account the frequency dependence on the noise source and the BEM. Finally, the low frequency output power spectrum has been obtained and a maximum 1/f knee frequency around 200 Hz has been measured with a 3 dB output signal video bandwidth above 50 KHz.  相似文献

高精度的划船效应补偿算法是提高高动态、恶劣振动环境下捷联惯性导航系统性能的重要手段之一。鉴于所研究系统的陀螺及加速度计的输出都是脉冲,因此可以转化得到载体的角速率、加速度、角增量和速度增量。本文将角速率,角增量以及加速度,速度增量信号同时引入速度更新计算当中,提出了一类新的划船效应补偿算法。对这类新划船效应补偿算法的系数方程进行了推导并对其补偿性能进行了分析。根据系数方程列出了几种补偿算法的系数和补偿误差。采用典型划船运动作为测试输入,对列出的新算法进行了仿真研究。仿真结果表明,与传统的划船补偿算法相比,新算法具有更高的补偿精度。  相似文献

This correspondence considers the response of the PLL near threshold to an input consisting of a modulated carrier and white, Gaussian noise. For high input signal-to-noise power ratios ?, the output noise power is Gaussian with a parabolic spectrum. As ? is decreased, the PLL tends to lose lock which gives rise to impulses or ?spikes? in the output with a resulting white power spectrum. The additional output noise due to these ?spikes? causes a threshold in the output signal-to-noise ratio. Unfortunately the loss of lock rate in the PLL depends on the modulation as well as the noise power. A semiempirical approximate expression for the loss of lock rate as a function of the noise and sinusoidal frequency modulation is presented and is used to determine the optimum design procedure for PLL's to demodulate FM signals of varying modulation indexes, ?.  相似文献

When the cumulative drift in the center frequency of a binary split-phase FSK signal exceeds the peak deviation of the signal, a conventional noncoherent receiver (i.e., one provided with only two IF filters) may be unable to achieve the probability of error per bit which the designer desires. This limitation may be overcome if the receiver is provided with a bank of more than two contiguous filters (each followed by an envelope detector) tospan the total IF band the instantaneous IF signal might occupy. It is shown that the probability of error per bit for such a receiver is a function of 1) the ratio F of peak frequency deviation to peak frequency drift, 2) the number M of IF filter/detectors, and 3) the signal-to-noise ratio ? in the output of the filter containing the signal. It is further shown thatfor a given value of F an increase in M reduces the amount of transmitter power the communication system designer must provide to yield a given probability of error per bit.  相似文献

Research in numerous areas is directed toward the resolution of multiple overlapping signals in a noisy environment. These areas include radar, sonar, speech, seismology, and electrophysiology. Sometimes matched filters are used; other times inverse filters are employed. This paper discusses one approach to the analysis of the resolution of inverse filters. Our method is to compromise the trade-off between signal resolution and the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). A performance measure for the inverse or deconvolution filter is defined as a quantity proportional to the harmonic mean of the resolution and the SNR. An optimum output pulse duration is obtained using this criterion, where the pulse shape has been previously selected and the input signal waveform is known. In addition, upper and lower bounds for the output pulse duration are presented. Graphs are given which allow the designer to select the optimum inverse filter output pulse duration for a desired signal resolution and an estimated SNR.  相似文献

The loss in output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) due to amplitude limiting is obtained for a radar circuit consisting of a bandpass limiter, coherent demodulator, matched filter, and moving-target-indicator (MTI) filter. The circuit is used in scanning MTI radars. The tandem connection of the limiter and coherent demodulator is a model for the saturation of the intermediate-frequency (IF) demodulator of an MTI radar. Results on special functions are used to obtain simple formulas for the loss in output SNR relative to a linear IF demodulator when the input SNR is less than -15 dB and the number of hits per 3-dB beamwidth exceeds 15.  相似文献

A new type of control loop is presented for dc/dc regulators, based on the use of a linear analog to pulsewidth modulator. This function, which is independent of operating frequency, permits high sampling frequencies. Combined with a limiter of the analog input, limitation characteristics are automatically available, without any extra sensing on the hot line. The independence of parameters f0 and ?1 is demonstrated, and application of the loop to control the regulator output characteristics is shown. This flexibility finds useful applications in high-power systems (1 kW) by permitting parallel unit operations and utilization of modular units.  相似文献

The relation between the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the input SNR is presented for the bandpass self-biased third-law amplifier with saturation, when the input is composed of sinusoidal carrier and zero-mean stationary narrowband Gaussian noise. It is found that significant improvement in the output SNR at low input SNR's can be achieved by the self-biased third-law amplifier with saturation operated in class A. A novel single-stage half-bridge series-resonant buck-boost inverter (HB-SRBBI) is proposed. The main attribute of the novel inverter topology is the fact that it generates an ac output voltage larger or lower than the dc input one, depending on the instantaneous duty cycle. This property is not found in the classical voltage source inverter (VST), which produces an ac output instantaneous voltage always lower than the dc input voltage. The proposed inverter circuit topology provides the main switch for turn-on at zero-current-switching (ZCS) by an auxiliary resonant cell built before the output choke. A state-space averaging approach is employed to analyze the system. A design example of 500 W ac/dc inverter is examined to assess the inverter performance and it provides high power efficiency above 90.7% under the rated power.  相似文献

This paper presents an analysis and experimental results for a frequency-controlled series-resonant dc-dc converter that consists of a Class-D zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) series-resonant inverter and a center-tapped synchronous rectifier. If the dc output voltage is low, the efficiency of the converter is dominated by the efficiency of the rectifier. Low on-resistance metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) are used in the rectifier instead of diodes because the forward voltage drop across the rectifying device is low, resulting in a high efficiency. The dc output voltage is regulated against variations in the load resistance and the dc input voltage by varying the operating frequency. Experimental results are presented for a converter with a dc input voltage of 150 V, an output voltage of 5 V, and a dc load resistance ranging from 0.5 to 5.5 R. The measured efficiency was 86% for a 50 W output and 89% for a 25 W output. The theoretical results were in good agreement with the measured results.  相似文献

In moving target indicator radar receivers a saturation is always present in the IF stages in order to compress the dynamic range of large clutter inputs. This nonlinearity greatly affects the performances of the cancelling circuits, because of the spreading of the spectra. A quantitative analysis of this effect has been conducted, with an analytical expression chosen for the limitation characteristic. A high degradation of both single-and double-canceller improvement factors has been obtained. Losses of 20 dB for the double canceller are not uncommon. Clutter residue levels at the receiver output have also been computed in order to see how the performance compares with ideal constant false alarm rate behavior.  相似文献
