Honeywell has implemented a versatile integrated avionics (VIA) architecture in several advanced commercial flight deck applications ensuring a military tie to future commercial upgrades related to global air traffic management functions. The VIA architecture can also be easily extended to meet unique military requirements of the advanced military flight decks for military tanker/transport upgrade programs. The subtle changes in the architecture are a result of unique equipment interfaces and unique military equipment such as communications radios, identification friend or foe, station keeping equipment and defensive systems which must be integrated within the architecture. Navigation and landing for the first half century of aviation fundamentally relied on radio-based electronic aids. The military began serious investigation of radio navigation during World War I. Up until WW II map reading, dead reckoning, and various means of radio direction finding were the primary methods of determining aircraft position. Since WWII a number of other navigation techniques, such as Doppler radar, radio inertial, pure inertial, aided inertial, and today's integrated GPS inertial, have been developed. Most of the inertial systems evolved from the military ICBM and subsequent space programs.  相似文献

The Qualified Manufacturer List (QML) approach, detailed in MIL-I-38535, General Specification for Integrated Circuits (Microcircuit) Manufacturing, embraces many of the commercial practices employed by high volume microcircuit suppliers. Nevertheless, with the availability of highly reliable and lower cost commercial parts, the QML approach becomes unnecessary and undesirable. In this paper we attempt to show why US government support of the QML program is leading the military and government to unaffordable access to out-dated technologies, damaging our country's military and avionics position. We will present information to show why we support the retraction of MIL-PRF-38535 and any other documents which imply that QML parts are superior to commercial parts, including those of QPL, MIL-STD-454, and MIL-HDBK-217 (now prohibited from use in all new Army programs)  相似文献

US military aircraft engine advanced technology programs were overviewed and analyzed from light weight gas generator (LWGG) program initiated in 1960s through integrated high performance turbine engine technology (IHPTET) program started in 1980s, then to versatile affordable advanced turbine engine (VAATE) program. Some features and trends were summarized and concluded by literature statistics method, such as teams based on closely corporation among government, industries and academics, goals oriented with national defence strategies and weapon system development requirements, engineering manufacture and development including all relative disciplines and areas, verification measured by technology readiness level, the application extending to military aircraft engine, civilian engine, gas turbine and space vehicle, etc. The experience and lessons obtained can provide reference and guide for technology research and engineering manufacture and development of military aircraft engines in the world.  相似文献

A discussion is presented of the applications of the concept of embedded training for advanced military aircrew training. Three prototype embedded training programs in various phases of development are reviewed. Also reviewed is the current state-of-the-art in advanced simulation and range system technologies. Simulators, ranges, and embedded training are discussed with respect to their ability to satisfy a nominal tactical engagement. Each is found to have its own particular shortfalls. Current embedded training applications are found to have one thing in common with simulation: in general, both are presently limited to single-ship training capabilities. Embedded training is discussed not as a low-cost alternative to simulators and ranges but rather as an adjunct whose cost and effectiveness remain to be demonstrated  相似文献

Work is ongoing at NAVAIR to understand how avionics fiber optic BIT technology can help reduce military aviation platform fiber optic network life cycle and total ownership cost. Operational availability enhancements via comprehensive supportability programs combined with keen attentiveness to reliability and maintainability metrics are driving the avionics fiber optic BIT value proposition. Avionics fiber optic BIT technology is expected to reduce failure rate and mean time to repair by predicting link failure before link failure actually occurs, running post-maintenance stress screening upon aircraft start-up, improving fault isolation by reducing the troubleshooting ambiguity zone from three to one, and reducing the need for separate support equipment for system troubleshooting  相似文献

Some of the impact that the test program at the Defense Electronics Supply Center (DESC) is having on improving the quality of products being supplied to its customers is illustrated. DESC test program non-mil lot rejection rates were nearing 50% for discrete semiconductors tested in receiving inspection. The associated part reject rate was nearly 15%. The part reject rate for all federal supply classes (FSCs) being sampled is less than 1%. Plans to drive the defect rate toward 100 PPM are discussed. Data indicate an increase in the quality of DESC-sampled devices being supplied for the military services over the last few years. This paper discusses the US Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center's (TARDEC's) four (4) axis strategy for integration of robotics into the legacy, interim, and objective forces. At the cornerstone of this strategy is the R&D effort concentrating on autonomous perception and navigation, intelligent tactical behavior, command and control, and man-robot interface entailed in the Demo III and Robotic Follower programs. Smart Manned Systems focuses on a systems engineering approach for robotic solutions into the interim force (Vetronics Technology Testbed and Crew Integration & Automation Testbed). In the near-term, application of robotics to the legacy force will be achieved through adapting commercial automation technologies, which address military requirements. Finally, Intelligent Mobility will investigate improving intrinsic platform mobility to lessen the burden on robotic sensing performance. The ultimate goal of this strategy is to advance the robotics technology state-of-the-art to achieve off-road full autonomous operations for military systems in support of the objective force  相似文献

金属增材制造技术的发展为军用飞机维修保障提供了一条数字化、定制化、高性能、短周期的技术新途径,可提升军用飞机维修保障的技术水平和能力。本文综述了军用飞机维修保障的国内外现状,指出了金属增材制造技术的应用优势,介绍了军用飞机零件的典型损伤形式、不同增材制造工艺的适用性及修复工艺选取方案,分析了所涉及的逆向建模、结构优化、智能机器人等关键技术,详述了目前存在的技术成熟度与可靠性不高、修复原则不明确、标准规范不统一等主要问题及解决措施,指出了增材制造技术在军用飞机维修保障领域未来的发展方向和趋势,并给出了具体的应用建议。  相似文献

 为满足军用飞机研制初步设计阶段对结构耐久性(疲劳)快速设计与评估的迫切需求,在全面分析军用飞机与民用飞机主要区别的前提下,针对军用飞机结构与使用载荷特点,以民用飞机细节疲劳额定值(DFR)方法的基本思想和技术途径为基础,从寿命服从对数正态分布的假设出发,对随机载荷谱的当量等幅化方法、结构DFR许用值的确定技术以及标准S--N曲线的建立等关键问题进行深入研究,建立了适用于军用飞机的DFR方法及相应的工程实施技术。初步应用表明方法可行且偏保守,能明显缩短研制周期、降低研制成本,具有重要的工程意义和应用价值,可用于军用飞机研制的初步耐久性设计。  相似文献
