A comprehensive model is developed to study the atomic oxygen OI 8446 Å dayglow emission. The emission rate profiles and intensities are obtained using the recently developed Solar2000 EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) flux model. These emission profiles are used to construct the morphology of the 8446 Å emission between equator and 45°N in the northern hemisphere. The longitudinal variation of 8446 Å dayglow emission is found about 5% and is not included in the presentation of morphology. A span of five years is chosen to study the effect of varying solar activity on the morphology of the OI 8446 Å dayglow emission. The morphology is studied on April 3 which lies under the equinox conditions. In year 2001 the solar F10.7 index on the chosen date was as high as 223.1 which is the case of solar maximum. From the present calculations it is found that the intensity does not vary linearly with the F10.7 solar index. The morphology shows that the region of maximum emission rate expands towards the higher latitudes as F10.7 solar index increases. The similar effects have also been found in the morphology of 7320 Å dayglow emission (Sunil Krishna and Singh, 2009). The similarities in the morphology of 7320 Å and 8446 Å dayglow emissions further suggest that the photoelectron flux has strong bearing on the production of these emissions.  相似文献

利用北京延庆子午工程激光雷达对北京上空钠层进行长期连续观测,分析研究钠层及其相关参数的周日变化.提取钠层各个高度上的相位信息,与同时段经向风潮汐信息进行比较发现:在各个高度上,二者周日相位数值基本一致.半日相位对比结果表明,虽然存在差异,但整体仍保持较好的一致性.此外,从2014年至2016年每年10月到第二年1月共4个月的钠层连续观测数据中提取钠层周日和半日的振幅和相位,探究北京上空冬季的潮汐特征.结果显示:周日潮的相位自上向下传播,且无明显的季节变化特征,其垂直波长在40~50km的范围;周日潮较强,半日潮较弱.   相似文献

The sampling interval of sodium dayglow observations was progressively reduced from one hour to two minutes for investigation of mesospheric dynamics, especially for daytime detection of the periods of gravity waves in the mesosphere and the lower thermosphere. The observations were analysed by usual power spectrum technique. The prominent periods, observed for the present, vary between 5 to 27 minutes in general agreement with results obtained by other techniques.  相似文献

It is shown in this paper for the first time that the intensity of the daytime thermospheric O(1D) 630.0 nm airglow as measured by the ground-based dayglow photometer over Trivandrum (8.5°N; 77°E; dip lat. 0.5°N), a geomagnetic dip equatorial station, exhibit a direct correlation with the electron density at 180 km. This altitude is about ∼40 km lower than the believed centroid of the O(1D) 630.0 nm dayglow emission i.e. 220 km. This observation is contrary to the understanding of the behavior of O(1D) 630.0 nm dayglow over equatorial/low latitudes. Over these latitudes, the variations of the measured intensity of O(1D) 630.0 nm dayglow are known to be associated with the changes in the electron density at altitudes around 220 km, the centroid of this emission. In this context, the present results indicating the lowering of the peak altitude of O(1D) 630.0 nm emission from ∼220 to ∼180 km over the dip equator is new. Recent results on solar XUV flux indicate that this could be an important parameter that controls the O(1D) 630.0 nm dayglow excitation rates through modulations in the neutral and ionic composition in lower thermosphere-ionosphere region. However, the lowering of the centroid of O(1D) 630.0 nm emission, as shown in this study, has been ascribed primarily to the fountain effect associated with the equatorial ionization anomaly.  相似文献

Severe geomagnetic storms and their effects on the 557.7 nm dayglow emission are studied in mesosphere. This study is primarily based on photochemical model with the necessary input obtained from a combination of experimental observations and empirical models. The model results are presented for a low latitude station Tirunelveli (8.7°N, 77.8°E). The volume emission rates are calculated using MSISE-90 and NRLMSISE-00 neutral atmospheric models. A comparison is made between the results obtained from these two models. A positive correlation amongst volume emission rate (VER), O, O2 number densities and Dst index has been found. The present results indicate that the variation in emission rate is more for MSISE-90 than in NRLMSISE-00 model. The maximum depletion in the VER of greenline dayglow emission is found to be about 30% at 96 km during the main phase of the one of the geomagnetic storms investigated in the case of MSISE-90 (which is strongest with Dst index −216 nT). The O2 density decreases about 22% at 96 km during the main phase of the same geomagnetic storm.The NRLSMSISE-00 model does not show any appreciable change in the number density of O during any of the two events. The present study also shows that the altitude of peak emission rate is unaffected by the geomagnetic storms. The effect of geomagnetic storm on the greenline nightglow emission has also been studied. It is found that almost no correlation can be established between the Dst index and variations in the volume emission rates using the NRLMSISE-00 neutral model atmosphere. However, a positive correlation is found in the case of MSISE-90 and the maximum depletion in the case of nightglow is about 40% for one of the storms. The present study shows that there are significant differences between the results obtained using MSISE-90 and NRLMSISE-00.  相似文献

利用快速傅里叶变换及其计算功率谱的方法研究了第22和23周磁静日北京宇宙线台站记录的银河宇宙线强度的周日变化与半日变化,计算结果表明,在两个太阳活动周交替时,银河宇宙线的周日变化与半日变化特征消失,在太阳活动低年逐渐向高年过度时,首先出现的是周日变化。半日变化特征出现要滞后于周日变化,22周太阳活动高年看不出周日变化,而23周太阳活动的高年周日变化非常显著,22周太阳活动的下降期。只有周日变化而无半日变化。这是分析北京宇宙线台近2个太阳活动周数据得到的新结果。  相似文献

Data on day-time and night-time radio wave absorption in the frequency range 50 to 2614 kHz, obtained in long-term observational programmes in Central Europe, are compared with corresponding absorption values calculated from electron density profiles of the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI-1979) using the full-wave method.Discrepancies between calculated and observed absorption values were found for the diurnal and the solar-cycle variation, the amplitudes of the solar-cycle variation of absorption being considerably larger than the observed variation.A modification of the solar-activity dependence of the D-region electron density parameters is derived, which provides an improvement of the solar-cycle variation as well as the diurnal variation of the IRI electron density profiles.  相似文献

The atmospheric electric Potential Gradient (PG) variation of fair-weather days at Muzaffarabad (MZF, Northern Pakistan) station is presented for the period of January 2015–October 2017. The present investigations focus on the diurnal variation of atmospheric PG on the seasonal and annual time scale. The fair-weather seasonal and annual average PG variation has revealed two peaks, i.e. a primary maximum peak and a secondary maximum peak. The average maximum PG value found is ~410?Vm?1. The results are then compared with the well-known standard oceanic Carnegie curve. The diurnal curve of PG is found to deviate from the Carnegie curve. The seasonal PG variation at MZF shows lower values during the summer (monsoon) and autumn (post-monsoon) as compared to the winter and spring (pre-monsoon) which could be due to local aerosol concentration. Global comparison of PG (%) values of the annual mean at different longitude, with MZF observatory, shows local morning and evening peaks depicting local sunrise and sunset effects on the PG. The overall outcomes will certainly contribute to further investigate the Global Electric Circuit (GEC).  相似文献

The cosmic ray ionization source functions which were obtained using a simplified extensive air shower model are used to calculate the eleven year cycle, seasonal and diurnal variations of ionization rate in the low and middle atmosphere. The ionization source function, as a function of the penetrating depth and the energy of cosmic ray particles, is the ionization rate per unit depth for a unit flux of incoming cosmic ray particles with certain energy.The calculation of the eleven year cycle variation of ionization rate in the low and middle atmosphere due to the modulation of galactic cosmic ray intensity by solar activity shows that the amplitude is larger at a higher magnetic latitude and is generally larger at higher altitudes. The relative amplitude of fluctuation of the ionization peak value (at altitudes near 15 km) is up to 45% in the magnetic polar region. The ionization rate, due to the seasonal variation of the atmospheric density, varies from several per cent below the ionization peak to several tens per cent above the peak. This seasonal variation of ionization rate reaches 35% at 70 km. The diurnal variation of atmospheric densities caused by atmospheric tidal oscillation can produce a diurnal variation of the ionization rate to an amplitude of several per cent at altitudes above 40 km. The diurnal oscillation is less than 1% below 35 km.  相似文献

为了获得全球电离层闪烁模式GISM在中国低纬地区预测的精度和可靠性,利用海南三亚GPS电离层闪烁监测系统一年的观测数据与模式预测结果进行对比分析.结果表明,在太阳活动低年,GISM能较好地反映海南地区电离层闪烁的季节变化、日变化和空间分布特性;对于季节变化,模式与观测结果在中等强度闪烁条件下较为相符,而在强闪烁和弱闪烁条件下有不同程度的偏差;模式预测的闪烁日变化与实际观测基本一致,但在闪烁发生率出现最大值的时间上模式预测要滞后约1 h左右;在电离层闪烁发生率的空间分布上,模式预测与实际观测较为相符,即海南地区南面电离层闪烁发生率高于北面.   相似文献

利用武汉站(30.5°N, 114.4°E)1997年1月1日至2007年12月31日电离层TEC、太阳黑子数及地磁指数等资料, 分析了第23周武汉站TEC的周日变化、季节变化、半年变化以及与太阳活动的相关性等特征; 以2006年4月13-17日发生的磁暴为例, 讨论了武汉站TEC对磁暴的响应以及可能的机理. 结果表明,武汉站电离层TEC在太阳活动高、低年均呈典型的周日变化特征; 冬季异常和半年异常特征明显, 且受太阳活动强弱影响; TEC和太阳黑子数年均值相关系数为0.9611; TEC对磁暴的响应可能是由磁层穿透电场和中性风共同作用导致的, 具体影响机制有待深入研究.   相似文献

燃油箱空余空间氧浓度变化规律的确定是惰化系统的设计基础,但影响燃油箱空余空间氧浓度因素很多,当前人们对于昼夜温度变化这一实际现象还缺少必要的分析计算。为此,以某型飞机中央翼燃油箱为研究对象,依据FAR25适航条款中昼夜温度变化的相关规定,建立理论仿真模型,利用实验数据对模型进行验证,探讨燃油箱空余空间氧浓度与昼夜温度变化之间的对应关系,并分析昼夜温度变化范围、载油率、初始氧浓度、溶解氧析出等因素对燃油箱空余空间氧浓度的影响,提出满足适航条款要求的夜间停机前燃油箱初始氧浓度限值。研究结果表明:昼夜温度的变化范围、载油率、初始氧浓度等因素对燃油箱空余空间氧浓度变化规律影响程度有所不同;停机前燃油箱初始氧浓度限值应该低于最低氧浓度限值0.5%~1%。研究成果将对惰化系统设计、燃油箱可燃性暴露时间计算具有较好的参考价值。   相似文献

METEOSAT observations in the thermal infrared “window” and “water vapor” channels, as well as in the visible channel, reveal diurnal variations over large areas which remain significant in the monthly means. The variations in the infrared correspond to diurnal cycles in the surface skin temperature (over land) and in cloud cover (over both land and sea) at various levels, and they must appear as a more or less significant diurnal variation in the integrated longwave emission to space of the Earth-atmosphere system. The diurnal cycle in the reflected shortwave radiation is influenced by these meteorological variations as well as by the astronomical cycle and the anisotropic reflectance. These must be taken into account in studies of Earth Radiation Budget variations. Using nearly simultaneous and spatially coincident pixel data from the ERBE scanner on ERBS and from METEOSAT in November 1984, we construct provisional transfer functions relating the narrow-band METEOSAT infrared observations to the longwave radiant exitance at the top of the atmosphere. We apply these transfer functions to the METEOSAT ISCCP B2 data sets for the summers of 1983–1985, and compare the resulting longwave radiant exitance estimates, with particular attention to the diurnal variation, which should be relatively insensitive to the inaccuracy inherent in applying the provisional (November 1984) transfer functions to the 1983–1985 data.  相似文献

本文提出了日出日落过渡期低电离层的运动斜曲面反射模型。结合白天和晚上的球面反射结构,形成了一个完整的低电离层反射结构日变化模型,提出了反射区的概念,从而使已有珠球面电离层反射的的天波场强计算公式改进为积分形式,更适于一般情况。文中计算了M台-青岛路径和M台-新乡路径-跳低频波场强幅度和相位的日变化值,并与实验结果进行了比较分析。  相似文献

Effects of relative humidity, light intensity and photoperiod on growth of 'Ga Jet' and 'TI-155' sweetpotato cultivars, using the nutrient film technique (NFT), have been reported. In this study, the effect of ambient temperature regimes (constant 28 degrees C and diurnal 28:22 degrees C day:night) and different CO2 levels (ambient, 400, 1000 and 10000 microliters/L--400, 1000 and 10000 ppm) on growth of one or both of these cultivars in NFT are reported. For a 24-h photoperiod, no storage roots were produced for either cultivar in NFT when sweetpotato plants were grown at a constant temperature of 28 degrees C. For the same photoperiod, when a 28:22 degrees C diurnal temperature variation was used, there were still no storage roots for 'TI-155' but the cv. 'Ga Jet' produced 537 g/plant of storage roots. For both a 12-h and 24-h photoperiod, 'Ga Jet' storage root fresh and dry weight tended to be higher with a 28:22 degrees C diurnal temperature variation than with a constant 28 degrees C temperature regime. Preliminary results with both 'Ga Jet' and 'TI 155' cultivars indicate a distinctive diurnal stomatal response for sweetpotato grown in NFT under an ambient CO2 level. The stomatal conductance values observed for 'Ga Jet' at elevated CO2 levels indicated that the difference between the light- and dark-period conductance rates persisted at 400, 1000, and 10000 microliters/L.  相似文献

Measurements and theory of diurnal and semidiurnal tidal oscillations between about 25 and 80 km are reviewed. At latitudes greater than about 30°, meridional (N-S) wind components are consistently in quadrature with and similar to the zonal (E-W) components. The tidal structures are interpreted as a superposition of quasi-steady higher-order modes excited in the troposphere by sources of limited extent (1,000–10,000 km). At latitudes less than about 30°, steady or quasi-steady diurnal and semidiurnal components are not necessarily the dominant components of the daily variation. At high latitudes diurnal phases generally show little change with height in comparison with observations at lower latitudes, in accord with the latitudinal properties of diurnal modes with positive and negative equivalent depths.  相似文献

利用中国地磁台网与电离层台站资料,总结了大地震前出现的地磁低点位移、地磁日变异常及电离层f0F2(F2层临界频率)异常现象.对比研究了1997年11月8日玛尼7.5级与2001年11月14日昆仑山口西8.1级地震前磁场与电离层异常分布及特征.结果显示,两次巨大地震前磁场与电离层短临异常时空分布特征有较好的一致性,震中周围出现日变异常、拉萨台出现电离层f0F2明显异常;震前约1个月出现地磁低点位移,其突变分界线通过震中地区.   相似文献

Total electron content (TEC) measured simultaneously using Global Positioning System (GPS) ionospheric monitors installed at some locations in Nigeria during the year 2011 (Rz = 55.7) was used to study the diurnal, seasonal, and annual TEC variations. The TEC exhibits daytime maximum, seasonal variation and semiannual variations. Measured TEC were compared with those predicted by the improved versions of the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI) and NeQuick models. The models followed the diurnal and seasonal variation patterns of the observed values of TEC. However, IRI model produced better estimates of TEC than NeQuick at all locations.  相似文献

Responses of low-latitude ionospheric critical frequency of F2 layer to geomagnetic activities in different seasons and under different levels of solar activity are investigated by analyzing the ionospheric foF2 data from DPS-4 Digisonde in Hainan Observatory during 2002–2005. The results are as follows: (1) the response of foF2 to geomagnetic activity in Hainan shows obvious diurnal variation except for the summer in low solar activity period. Generally, geomagnetic activity will cause foF2 to increase at daytime and decrease at nighttime. The intensity of response of foF2 is stronger at nighttime than that at daytime; (2) seasonal dependence of the response of foF2 to geomagnetic activity is very obvious. The negative ionospheric storm effect is the strongest in summer and the positive ionospheric storm effect is the strongest in winter; (3) the solar cycle has important effect on the response of foF2 to geomagnetic activity in Hainan. In high solar activity period, the diurnal variation of the response of foF2 is very pronounced in each season, and the strong ionospheric response can last several days. In low solar activity period, ionospheric response has very pronounced diurnal variation in winter only; (4) the local time of geomagnetic activities occurring also has important effect on the responses of foF2 in Hainan. Generally, geomagnetic activities occurred at nighttime can cause stronger and longer responses of foF2 in Hainan.  相似文献
