Heading and speed errors are analytically determined for noneumavering targets at the output of an x, y tracking filter which processes range and bearing measurements from a radar sensor in a track-while-scan (TWS) operation. These errors are shown to depend upon target range and speed, the angle between the radius and velocity vectors, sensor accuracies, and tracking filter parameters. eters. Beamspace ML bearing estimation incorporating low-angle geometry   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A problem in low-angle radar tracking, namely, bearing estimation in the presence of a strong specular multipath component that arrives within the beamwidth of the direct path signal, is studied. Three-dimensional beamspace domain maximum likelihood (3D-BDML) is a computationally simple ML bearing estimation algorithm applicable in this scenario which operates in a 3-D beamspace. A variation of 3D-BDML incorporating the multipath geometry as a priori information is presented. In symmetric 3D-BDML the pointing angle of the center beam is equal to the bisector angle between the direct path ray and the image ray, which may be estimated a priori given only the radar height and the target range. The effect of the inclusion of a priori information on the performance of 3D-BDML is analyzed in terms of the dependence on the relative phase difference between the direct and specular path signals, the sensitivity to error in the bisector angle estimate, and the results of operation when no specular multipath component is present in the data. This study considers the clutter suppression and feature extraction of multiple moving targets for airborne high range resolution (HRR) phased array radar. To avoid the range migration problems that occur in the HRR radar data, we divide each HRR profile into nonoverlapping low range resolution segments. No information is lost due to the division and hence no loss of resolution occurs. We show how to use a vector auto-regressive filtering technique to suppress the clutter. Then a relaxation-based parameter estimation algorithm is presented for multiple moving target feature extraction. Numerical results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm  相似文献

A complete grasp of the actual vessel traffic flow by accurate observation is essential to carry out vessel traffic management, design of vessel traffic route, plan of port construction, etc. Up to now, the observation of vessel traffic has needed many efforts such as the use of a special ship or car equipped with radar observation systems and the observation staff preparation for a considerably long period. In order to perform accurate observation of vessel traffic without such efforts, the authors have developed a completely automated radar network system covering the main traffic route of Tokyo Bay. In August 2003, as the second remote radar station attaching AIS equipment was set at East Ogishima (the first was installed at the National Defense Academy in 2002), the observing range could be enlarged and cover most traffic routes in Tokyo Bay. These two radars can observe the vessel traffic in Tokyo Bay simultaneously so as to know the traffic flow accurately on the basis of analyzing the integrated radar data. In addition to the development of a radar network system, the software to analyze observed vessel traffic flow has been developed. This software has various functions such as tracking of ship's position, automatic determination of ship's size, animation of ship's movements, superposition of successive radar images, display of ship's tracks, calculation of ship's speed distribution, extraction of dangerous ship encounters using subjective judgment value and bumper model, etc. Some analyzed results on vessel traffic flow observed by the remote radars in January and September 2003 are shown in this paper.  相似文献

Random-noise radar has been applied successfully to range measurement, velocity estimation and terrain/target imaging. For applications involving stationary targets, long integration times and process averaging are easily tolerated. In situations where the target or radar platform moves at high speed, the impact of this relative motion on system design should be considered. This work addresses the statistical performance of a generic random-noise radar receiver and examines the inter-relationships between design parameters and performance tradeoffs. Complementing this examination, a random-noise monopulse system is also investigated as a possible architecture for real-time angle estimation. Simulations and numerical illustrations provide the basis of processor design and performance prediction.  相似文献

Bayesian gamma mixture model approach to radar target recognition   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
This paper develops a Bayesian gamma mixture model approach to automatic target recognition (ATR). The specific problem considered is the classification of radar range profiles (RRPs) of military ships. However, the approach developed is relevant to the generic discrimination problem. We model the radar returns (data measurements) from each target as a gamma mixture distribution. Several different motivations for the use of mixture models are put forward, with gamma components being chosen through a physical consideration of radar returns. Bayesian formalism is adopted and we obtain posterior distributions for the parameters of our mixture models. The distributions obtained are too complicated for direct analytical use in a classifier, so Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) techniques are used to provide samples from the distributions. The classification results on the ship data compare favorably with those obtained from two previously published techniques, namely a self-organizing map and a maximum likelihood gamma mixture model classifier.  相似文献

针对海上目标的雷达与船舶自动识别系统(Automatic Identification System,AIS)中,航迹之间存在的时空不匹配现象,提出了在空间对准之后结合海上航迹运动特点,对 AIS航迹数据进行插值对准雷达目标航迹的方法,在解决雷达与 AIS航迹之间时空不匹配问题的同时,最大程度减小插值误差。该方法根据船舶航向变化率,结合航速航向法和内插外推法的优势,针对不同航迹特点自动选择最佳的插值配准方法,实现海上目标的雷达与 AIS航迹点的自动插值和时空对齐。仿真实验结果表明,所提方法针对海上目标复杂运动,可以自动匹配选择最佳插值方法,有效降低误差,实现雷达与 AIS航迹之间的时空匹配。  相似文献

采用多通道合成的方法来增加信号带宽,是提高合成孔径雷达(SAR)系统距离分辨率的一种有效技术手段。针对多通道间相位失配的问题,建立了通道相位误差的频域多项式模型,提出了一种基于最小熵的通道相位误差估计与补偿方法。以距离向压缩脉冲图像的信息熵作为目标函数,误差多项式系数为估计变量,基于最小熵准则建立了相位误差的最优化估计模型。该方法能有效弥补内定标或外定标方法的不足,且不依赖于成像场景的地物类型,只需抽取少量回波数据作为误差估计的样本,具有耗费存储空间少、收敛速度快、不损失信噪比的优点。对不同场景的八通道实测数据进行了处理,实验结果验证了本文方法的有效性和稳健性。  相似文献

A technique that effectively reduces the dynamic range of the input signal in a radar receiver prior to digitization is presented. The dynamic range reduction is accomplished through a process that predicts the next radar return signal from the previous return signals, generates a replica waveform, and subtracts this replica waveform from the radar return signal prior to digitization. This process allows the radar return signal to be digitized without distortion by an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) having a limited dynamic range. The full dynamic range of the radar return signal is then restored by adding the replica waveform to the ADC output. Test and evaluation results using both synthetic and recorded radar data demonstrate in excess of a 30-dB reduction in the dynamic range of the signal at the ADC input when strong clutter is present  相似文献

A radar system for geometric height estimation of civil aircraft is described. The system consists of one standard or mode S secondary surveillance radar (SSR) and one omnidirectional antenna sited away from SSR under an airplane. The geometric height is derived by trilateration. Systematic errors are compensated for by deriving the profile of the effect on height measurements of the bias in range measurements. A curve-fitting technique is then used, which estimates both the geometric height and any non-zero systematic errors  相似文献

如何从舰艇编队中选择预定目标,是超视距反舰导弹亟待解决的一个问题。文章基于Hausdorff距离的部分匹配理论研究了这一问题。火控雷达探测到的编队信息和末制导雷达探测到的编队信息都用点集来描述,通过点集形状匹配获取这两个点集的对应点,从而实现对预定目标的选择。重点提出了一种新的部分匹配途径,能够自适应地逐个剔除引起形状不相似的外部点而同时保留两个形状的相似部分。仿真试验表明,相比以往基于编队相互位置关系的方法,论文所研究的预定目标选择方法具有更好的抗干扰能力。  相似文献

We have developed a new formulation for three dimensional (3D) radar imaging of inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) data based on recent developments in high resolution spectral estimation theory. Typically for non real-time applications, image formation is a two step process consisting of motion determination and image generation. The technique presented focuses on this latter process, and assumes the motion of the target is known. The new technique offers several advantages over conventional techniques which are based on the correlation imaging function. In particular, the technique provides for a direct 3D estimate (versus back projection to a 3D target grid matrix) of the locations of the dominant scattering centers using only a minimum set of independent 2D range-Doppler ISAR “snapshots” of the target. Because of the snapshot nature of the technique, it is particularly applicable to 3D imaging of sectors of sparse-angle data, for which the sidelobes of the correlation imaging integral become high. Furthermore, the technique provides for an estimate of amplitude and phase of each scattering center as a function of aspect angle to the target, for those aspect angles which encompass the set of 2D range-Doppler snapshots. A family of conditionally Gaussian signal models for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery is presented, extending a related class of models developed for high resolution radar range profiles. This signal model is robust with respect to the variations of the complex-valued radar signals due to the coherent combination of returns from scatterers as those scatterers move through relative distances on the order of a wavelength of the transmitted signal (target speckle). The target type and the relative orientations of the sensor, target, and ground plane parameterize the conditionally Gaussian model. Based upon this model, algorithms to jointly estimate both the target type and pose are developed. Performance results for both target pose estimation and target recognition are presented for publicly released data from the MSTAR program  相似文献

The performance of a radar target discrimination technique using multiple-frequency scattering amplitude without phase data is investigated. Based on the concept of natural resonance frequencies, the technique is aspect independent so that a priori information of the aspect angle is not necessary. The radar cross sections (RCSs) of spheroids are calculated numerically to simulate the received radar returns for distinguishing different spheroids and wires in the resonance frequency range by the proposed technique. By Monte Carlo simulation, the discrimination error rate is estimated as a function of the standard deviation of added noise. The numerical results show that the discrimination algorithm works well under moderately noisy situations and can be applied even in a high-resonance frequency range  相似文献

本文采用自适应消噪技术来提高轴承振动信号的信噪比,在常用的 LMS (widrow)算法的基础上,讨论收敛快而计算量增加又较少的 VS (Variable Step)算法,分析表明 VS算法较LMS算法更适于自适应消噪在机械故障诊断中的应用。对故障轴承的振动信号进行同态自适应消噪处理和异态自适应消噪处理,都有助于发现轴承的故障。   相似文献

利用窄波束的单脉冲精密跟踪雷达波束驻留模式进行碎片探测是空间碎片环境统计特征描述的一种重要途径。由于该模式观测弧段极短,且无法获取同一目标的多个弧段,因而利用常规定轨方法难以达到理想的效果。在圆轨道假设下,提出了一种利用波束驻留模式获取的单个极短弧计算碎片轨道高度和倾角的方法。首先利用碎片的距离确定其轨道高度;在此基础上,根据推导出的不同波束指向时碎片的距离变化率与轨道倾角的关系,得出其轨道倾角。该方法对于正南、正东指向的雷达波束驻留模式均适用,其中正南指向时还需利用方位角和仰角数据来区分轨道倾角与补角;但不适用于波束指向天顶的情况。仿真结果验证了方法的有效性。  相似文献

In previous work, a matched-field estimate of aircraft altitude from multiple over-the-horizon (OTH) radar dwells was presented. This approach exploits the altitude dependence of direct and surface reflected returns off the aircraft and the relative phase changes of these micro-multipath arrivals across radar dwells. Since this previous approach assumed high dwell-to-dwell predictability, it has been found to be sensitive to mismatch between modeled versus observed micro-multipath phase and amplitude changes from dwell-to-dwell. A generalized matched-field altitude estimate is presented here based on a state-space model that accounts for random ionospheric and target-motion effects that degrade the dwell-to-dwell predictability of target returns. The new formulation results in an efficient, robust recursive maximum likelihood (ML) estimation of aircraft altitude. Simulations suggest that the proposed technique can achieve accuracy within 5,000 ft of the true aircraft altitude, even with relatively high levels of uncertainty in modeling of dwell-to-dwell changes in the target return. A real data result is also presented to illustrate the technique.  相似文献
