Steered beam adaptive arrays for multiple simultaneous desired signals are discussed. It is shown that the performance of a steered beam adaptive array depends upon the range of input signal strengths and the choice of the steering vector. Optimum steering vectors for various input signal strengths are given. All choices of steering vectors are equally effective in the rejection of jammers.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that an adaptive array can be used to acquire weak signals, whose direction and timing are unknown, in an environment of stronger jammers. Specifically, it is shown that in an environment of one weak signal and one strong jammer, the adaptive array output suppresses the strong jammer below the weak signal by roughly the same amount that the jammer exceeded the signal before adaptation.  相似文献

A Fast Beamforming Algorithm for Large Arrays   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
This beamforming algorithm is written specifically for array radars in which the number of array elements K is very large compared with the number of jammers L the radar is designed to suppress. It uses a set of M noise vectors to construct a basis for the jammer component of the antenna output vectors. The component of the quiescent weight vector orthogonal to each basis vector is calculated, renormalized to unit length, and identified as the adapted weight vector. This algorithm is effective in the suppression of many types of jammers. The number of noise samples M required in the construction of the adapted weight vector is approximately equal to L. In the special case of L narrowband noise jammers, for example, a choice of M = L usually reduces the receiver output jammer power to a few dBs above the white noise background. A partially adaptive array is one in which elements of a phased array are controlled or adaptively weighted in groups or in which certain elements, called auxiliary elements, are made controllable. Mathematically, this type of array is formed by transforming all of the elements of an array by a nonsquare matrix such that the resulting output vector has a length less than the number of array elements. It is shown that there is an equivalent matrix transform that can effectively be utilized in analyzing the partially adaptive array's performance when a small number of external jammers are present. Processor implementation and convergence rate considerations lead to the desirability of reducing the dimensionality of the cancellation processor while maintaining good sidelobe interference protection. A meaningful measure of canceller performance is to compute the optimal output signal-to-noise ratio. This expression is a function of the jammer, direction-of-arrival vectors (DOAVs), jammer powers, the array steering vector, and internal noise. It is shown that if this expression is computed for the fully adaptive array then it is easily computed for the partially adaptive array by transforming the jammer DOAVs and the steering vector by the orthogonal projection matrix defined by the rows of the subarray transformation matrix and substituting these vectors back into the original expression for the fully adaptive array  相似文献

自适应阵列(或称自适应波束形成)目前已广泛应用到雷达、声纳和通信领域中用来抑制各种干扰(有意的干扰,杂波干扰和多用户干扰等)。在雷达应用中,为了减轻脉冲欺骗式干扰或旁瓣目标并利用单脉冲雷达来准确测量目标波达方向.要求自适应方向图具有低副瓣和稳定的主瓣形状。在实际应用中,各种失配误差将降低自适应阵列的性能.这些误差包括由于目标的波达方向不精确引起的信号指向误差,由通道失配和位置扰动引起的阵列校准误差和由小样本教引起的协方差矩阵估计误差。在此情况下,自适应波束形成的性能大大下降(干扰抑制性能变差。主瓣失真和高的副瓣)。已提出了一种基于二次约束的集成峰值副瓣控制(integrated peak sidelobe control,简称IPSC)方法。该方法可以精确地控制峰值副瓣电平并产生具有稳定的主瓣形状的自适应方向图。研究IPSC中目标信号的影响和信号消除方案以进一步提高IPSC的性能。并将IPSC方法和最新提出的基于二阶锥规划(second-order cone programming,简称SOCP)的分布式峰值副瓣控制(distfibuted peak sidelobe control,简称为DPSC)新方法在性能上进行了比较。仿真结果表明。在干扰抑制性能和方向图控制质量方面IPSC比DPSC性能优越。此外IPSC比DPSC计算高效。  相似文献

A space-time adaptive processing (STAP) algorithm for delay tracking and acquisition of the GPS signature sequence with interference rejection capability is developed. The interference can consist of both broadband and narrowband jammers, and is mitigated in two steps. The narrowband jammers are modelled as vector autoregressive (VAR) processes and rejected by temporal whitening. The spatial ing is implicitly achieved by estimating a sample covariance matrix and feeding its inverse into the extended Kalman filter (EKF). The EKF estimates of the code delay and the fading channel are used for a t-test for acquisition detection. Computer simulations demonstrate robust performance of the algorithm in severe jamming, and also show that the algorithm outperforms the conventional delay-locked loop (DLL).  相似文献

采用圆环阵列天线,利用最小规范算法和线性约束最小方差算法对弱GPS信号的干扰信号进行了抑制,并分别针对固定和可变天线阵元数目以及固定和可变干扰信号等多种情况进行了仿真和分析.GPS信号的功率电平假设为-175dBW,干扰信号的功率值在-100dBW~-140dBW范围内可变.仿真结果表明,圆环天线阵列能精确地判定干扰信号的来波方向,该方法能很好地改善对来波干扰信号的赋零深度.  相似文献

The performance of electronically scanned radar systems is evaluated for clear and barrage jamming environments. Radar figures of merit in jamming are derived for search and track modes and are directly related to antenna pattern relative sidelobe levels. A random sidelobe model is analyzed with various numbers of independent jammers. Probability distributions of detection probability are derived to determine detection performance versus average jamming level and number of jammers.  相似文献

A direct relationship between the conventional properties of an array and the array performance in an adaptive mode is given. Expressions are provided to obtain the output signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) of an adaptive array in terms of its conventinal pattern and the locations of the desired signal and jammers. These expressions permit one to evaluate the performance of an adaptive array without an exhaustive search for all possible scenarios and parametric values to ascertain that the required performance levels be met. In fact, one can predict the jammer locations for which the array will provide its best and worst performance by observing the conventional pattern. Several examples are provided to demonstrate the relationship between the conventional pattern and the adaptive array performance. The examples include both linear and planar arrays.  相似文献

A new approach is proposed for the suppression of FM jammers in C/A code GPS receivers. This approach is based on the cascading of the augmented-state approximate conditional mean (ASACM) filter and the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) filter. An ASACM filter for single interference suppression in spread-spectrum systems has been reported in the recent literature. However, the formulation of the ASACM filter and its performance analysis is lacking in the case of suppression of multiple FM interferences. The ASACM filter is formulated here for the suppression of multiple FM jammers. Further, a DWT filter using biorthogonal wavelet is suggested for the suppression of FM jammers. Finally, these two filters are cascaded to get an optimum performance for higher jammer to signal ratio, which is of importance in the GPS, for the case of suppression of multiple FM jammers. The performance of the proposed filters is analyzed through simulation examples for the suppression of single and multiple FM jammers in GPS receivers  相似文献

Presented and investigated here is a simple and fast adaptive algorithm for linear power inversion arrays whose nulls can be accurately steered by controlling the element weights. Based on measurements of the powers of the three signals derived from the array output and the output of an auxiliary beamformer, the algorithm tracks unknown jammers in the environment by steering the nulls of the array one by one in a cyclical time-multiplexed manner. When compared with the least mean square (LMS) algorithm, the proposed algorithm has about the same implementation complexity, a better convergence behavior and the advantage that nulls are directly available  相似文献

Experimental results from a four-element, linear, half-wavelength spacing, adaptive-array antenna under the control of the least mean square (LMS) algorithm are presented. The array is found to be capable of nulling a 70-MHz signal to -35 dB below a desired signal over a 5-MHz bandwidth. The antenna processing gain is constant over a desired signal-to-jammer signal power ratio range from -20 dB to 5 dB. A sharp reduction in processing gain is observed for angular separations between jammer and desired signal of less than 10°. Antenna patterns taken with weights set in 300 iterations of the LMS algorithm show that the one strong, one weak jammer combination has a longer weight convergence time and reduced processing gain compared with a two strong jammers combination. Contours of constant desired signal-to-jammer signal power ratio, after adaptive antenna processing, reveal a complex shape for communication between air and ground due to the finite angular resolution of the adaptive antenna.  相似文献

This paper describes a class of partially adaptive arrays with adaptive processing applied to the outputs of steered subarrays. The problem is to detect a signal or estimate its direction of arrival in the presence of jammers. The advantage of applying adaptive processing to subarrays is that it requires much less CPU time than the corresponding fully adaptive processing. The subarray processing equations for the two kinds of problem are described. In this paper, we compare partially adaptive processing performance with fully adaptive processing performance in the case of the following antenna and signal sources:
  • •- array with regularly spaced sensors ;
  • •- between 20 and 100 elements ;
  • •- between 3 and 20 subarrays ;
  • •- a single jammer ;
  • •- desired signal from the antenna zenith.
We suggest a method for determining the optimal subarray configurations in this case. An example is given to show that the performance of an antenna with five subarrays is comparable to that of a fully adaptive thirty-element array for eliminating a single jammer with a target at the zenith.  相似文献

A radar digital beamforming (DBF) architecture and processing algorithm is described for nulling the signal from a mainlobe electronic jammer and multiple sidelobe electronic jammers while maintaining monopulse angle estimation accuracy on the target. The architecture consists of a sidelobe jamming (SLJ) cancelling adaptive array (AA) followed by a mainlobe jamming (MLJ) canceller. A mainlobe maintenance (MLM) technique or constrained adaptation during the sidelobe cancellation process is imposed so that the results of the SLJ cancellation process do not distort the subsequent mainlobe cancellation process. The SLJ signals and the MLJ signals are thus cancelled sequentially in separate processes. This technique was developed for improving radar processing in determining the angular location of a target, and specifically for improving the monopulse technique by maintaining the accuracy of the target echo monopulse ratio in the presence of electronic jamming by adaptive suppression of the jamming signals before forming the monopulse sum and difference beams  相似文献

A sidelobe canceller (SLC) can be efficiently employed to reduce the undesirable effects of jammers on a search radar system. In this paper a functional block circuit is described for a single-sidelobe canceller (SSLC) apt to a single Jammer suppression; a detailed analysis is also presented. It is shown that the theory of stochastic differential equations and the covariance analysis describing function (CADET) technique can be used to evaluate the SSLC performances when two Gaussian colored and mutually correlated input processes are considered. The statistical properties of the weight can be obtained. The last results, which are very important in the case of nonstationary jammers, cannot be obtained without this theory. System implications can be drawn from the abovementioned analysis when the input process consists of one jammer or two jammers and/or thermal noise.  相似文献

The global positioning system (GPS) was designed to provide location estimates for various civilian and military applications using at least four satellites. Since GPS signals have a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), they also have a low signal-to-jammer ratio so that the accuracy of location estimates is influenced by cochannel interference and intentional jammers. We propose a low-complexity blind adaptive receiver that is based on a novel modified despreader and the constant modulus (CM) array. This system is capable of ing directional interference and capturing the GPS signal of interest without requiring explicit angle-of-arrival (AOA) information. We also consider the multiple satellite problem and extend the proposed receiver to capture several GPS signals of interest. Representative computer simulation examples are presented to illustrate the performance of the multicomponent system for the suppression of different jammer types.  相似文献

A simple and fast zero tracking algorithm for adaptive arrays with large look direction errors is presented and investigated. Basically, the algorithm is based on adjusting the complex zeroes of a power inversion array in a time-multiplexed manner to track all the sources in the environment. To preserve the desired signal which is supposed to be closest to the look direction of 0°, the algorithm removes the zero with the shortest distance to ej0 so that the directional response consists of only nulls steered at the jammers. When compared with the least mean square (LMS) algorithm employing zeroth and first-order look direction constraints, the new algorithm has about the same implementation complexity, is considerably faster, and possesses a much better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance when the look direction is erroneous  相似文献

The eigencanceler: adaptive radar by eigenanalysis methods   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
It is shown that the dominant eigenvectors of the space-time correlation matrix contain all the information about the space-time distribution of the interferences. The eigencanceler is a new approach to adaptive radar beamforming in which the weight vector is constrained to be in the noise subspace, the subspace orthogonal to the dominant eigenvectors. Two types of eigencancelers are suggested: the minimum power eigencanceler (MPE) and the minimum norm eigencanceler (MNE). It is shown that while the MPE is implemented as a linear combination of noise eigenvectors, the MNE can be formed using dominant eigenvectors only. Particularly for short data records, the MNE provides superior clutter and jammers cancellation, as well as lower variations in the pattern and lower distortion of the mainbeam, and can be carried out at a smaller computational cost than other known beamformers, such as the minimum variance beamformer  相似文献
